I'm reading the novelization to X-Men 2, and from what I read, this will kick so many kinds of ass, that new asses will have to be created for the express purpose of getting kicked. I'm seriously stoked for this movie it's not funny. What do all of you think?

Probably better than the first one.

Just wondering what will be the villians in the movie other than Mystique and Magnito

The Government is the enemy in this one, right?

I know Deathstrike is in it, but I never read the comics so I don't know if she's a villain or not

In the commentary on the 1.5 DVD, I think the director mentioned something about 'Iceman' or something to that effect as the villain. And I think Iceman, or whatever the name is/will be, was the one student in the mutant school.

When watching the trailer, also on the 1.5 dvd, I noticed the Senator in one scene. Umm...didn't he die in the first one?

I don't believe it's the actual government. It's more of a rogue anti mutant group led by a Military guy. I believe this group does convince the government that mutant's are "evil".

However don't hold me to that. I don't read the comics and it's been awhile since I've seen the 90's cartoon series.

Some how Deathstrike and Wolverine have a history, I think they were married or something and I think she is evil.

It the trailer looks epic. But, you never can tell.

I'll let you know in May, when I see it.

It looks like they are going to put WAY too much in the sequel. IMO they were borderline with the first one but managed to squeek it out keeping much of the focus concentrated on Wolverine.

Bad Guy: General Stryker, head of the Stryker Crusade, a Government-affiliated mutant-hunting group. His cronie is Deathstryke.

When my friend and I saw Daredevil, they played the new X-2 trailer before it. After it was over, we sat in a shocked silnce with our mouths open. It was that damn good. The girl we were with thought we were huge dorks, but hey, we were happy.

Iceman isn't a heel mutant...your probably thinking of Pyro.

And Senator Kelly could always be Mystique.

I just wish they'd let loose Wolverine and let him do his thing. You know, slicing and dicing a lot of bad guys. Like 10 or 15 at a time. He's the best at what he does.

I'll check it out, but I'm STILL waiting for Gambit.

1st, Max Power, It looks like or favorite Cajun had a brief apparition in X2. Whooooo!

2nd, Deathstrike is a heel, Wolvie's enemy, but I think her role is Magnetos's new recruit.

Iceman is not heel, is possible the new Rogue's love interest.

Senator Kelly is DEAD, Mystique is takin his body.

I think the biggest Heel in X2 is a gropu of Humans against Mutants, not exactly a government agency, maybe it was sponsored by but not clearly.

Forgot about Mystique for a moment. I never read the comics, and I forget most of the cartoons, so I don't really know whose a heel and who isn't. But they *did* mention Iceman in the trailer..don't remember if they said he was evil or not.

By the way, nice banner, raptor. Wolverine is especially nice on the end.

Colossus and Kitty Pryde are in this one also!

Kitty was also in X-Men. The movie should be sweet ass sweet. I nearly wet myself when I saw the trailer before Daredevil. On a side note Hulk looks like it'll be crap but probably draw as much as Spider-Man did the first weekend.

It'll have to be better then the first one to get my attention. I was pretty bored with X Men.

The problem with an X-men movie(if you want to get technical) is that it is so STORY-DRIVEN, that everytime a new character is introduced, there is so much backstory to them, that a 2-hour movie running time would not be enough to fill anyone in on important information. I thought they did a pretty decent job in the first movie, and hopefully they continue it with the second one. The trailer looks damn good.

^^^^ 100% right.

Which is why I liked the 1st one - they didn't even BOTHER with anyones storyline other than Rogues and Wolverines.

Lady Deathstrike is definitely a villain, and a foe of Wolverine's. My comics history might be a bit muddled here, but I think her father was the one who designed the process to graft the adamantium onto Logan's skeleton. LDS has referred to it as her "birthright" several times in the comics. The last issue I saw that had them facing off was circa Wolverine #80, after he'd had the adamantium ripped out of him by Magneto.

As for X-2, I expect it to be like the first one: an entertaining action-adventure movie, but a mediocre adaption of the comics, at best.

This is all you really need to know about Deathstrike - she's played by the babe-a-licious Kelly Hu.

I believe that Dr. Tom is right about Deathstrike, but I'm sure that Sassquatch will drop by and give us more backstory on her. I think the cartoon version of Deathstrike was a combination of Deathstrike, Mariko Yashida and Yukio, but I can't be sure. Maybe just Deathstrike and Yukio...

And a funny-weird X2 note: The novelization is by Chris Claremont, meaning that he's writing a book based on a screenplay that was based on a graphic novel that he wrote ("God Loves, Man Kills")...

(edit) and as for the movie itself, I expect a little more action and a little less of an FX spotfest. With so many characters in the movie it doesn't need to be all talky and stuff (see Star Trek: Nemesis and Insurrection), and I suspect that Bryan Singer has managed to avoid that. Should be a fun movie.

This is one of the few sequels that I expect to be better than the original. The first one was okay at best, nowhere near the level of Daredevil, but it was still a good concept. Given more time, and getting away from the horrible Magneto scheme, should make for improvement. At the very least, the trailers for this film look much better than the trailers for X-Men did.

My biggest complaint is about the Brotherhood. It seems to be pretty much limited to Magneto, Mystique & Pyro, against a whole army of X-Men. I would have liked to see Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver added to the mix rather than more X-Men. Hell, I would settle for Mastermind & Avalanche. Anything to even up the numbers a bit.

I'm not Sass, but I can confirm that Tom hit it pretty much on the money there. Deathstryke thinks/thought that Logan stole the process from him and so that's why she had those giant ass claws grafted to her hands.

Then good news: he tears looose this time around.

As a side note, I think that Gambit might make an appearance in this film, but I fully expect him to join the team in X-3.

I really want to see Sentinels sometime soon on the big screen. Maybe X-Men 3 might have them.

I was under the impression that the Sentor was supposed to have turned into a water shifting mutant instead of dying and was supposed to return in the sequels. Isn't he Sabretooth's dad in the comics or something?

By the way, the X-Men cartoons series is going to start running again on Cartoon Network starting April 5th.

I wouldn't put it past them to do that since a lot of people(me included) thought he died.
