LOL!

What did you expect from a guy who lives in a state where seemingly the only ice rink in the entire state is in Montgomery?

Don't piss off a mod TC.

Just for a second T.C. Imagine you've never heard of Curling. Wouldn't your initial reaction be that sounds boring.

Oh definitely, curling can be very boring at times. It's just that sometimes (most of the time) people just look at it and think that it's people sweeping ice, when it's more than that. They call it boring without ever actually watching it and trying to see the strategy that's behind it.

I think we should pin this thread so non-Canadians can learn about a sport with so much beauty

Well I was an illegal immigrant until January.

But at least I'm in the country legally now.

Yes, but what about us that watched alot of curling during the last Olympics because it was the only damn thing that MSNBC(was it them? It was one of the news channels, I forget which) would show, and it would be on either really early or in the middle of the night, when nothing else was being shown, and still think it's damn boring?

That's fine. I can respect the fact that you watched it and didn't find it exciting, not everyone does.

I'm undecided as to whether curling goes in my "sport" category or my "hobby" (Golf, Tennis) category. To tell you the truth, I'm probably leanin towards sport. Sure it's boring, but to the best of my knowledge, it doesn't discourage fan participation. Confirm/deny?

I'm strangely attracted to curling. Whenever it was on during the last Winter Olympics, the remote control was put down and my ass was glued to the TV.

Back in college, 1 of my buddies had a pic on his door. An older couple sitting at a curling match, 1 had a hat that said "It's the skip's fault" while the other had a hat that said "Like hell it is"

Ahh, curling humor.

If the Americans can't compete in the sport, why show interst in it.

Sorry TC but I think I'm on the list now. I'm a Canadian who believes curling to the most boring sport ever invented.

Hey AS ya gotta put Golf in your "sport" category. Golfers are, IMO, the hardest working athletes there are. These guys have to earn their paycheques by not only showing up but by playing good as well.

I refuse to go to a sporting event as a spectator and being told to shut up. IMO, that isn't a sport.

If I had the choice of watching basketball (be it college or pro, men's or women's), baseball, or curling, consider me America's biggest curling fan.

And golf is NOT a sport ... a sport is played by athletes, and golfers are NOT athletes.

Yeah, curling takes skill. So does knitting.

I wanted to watch it during the Olympics but it was never on when I had access to a TV.

Hey, have any of you guys seen "Men With Brooms"? I heard it was the number 1 comedy in Canada this time last year and they had some of the stars on the Mike Bullard show. I'm so pissed I never got to go to one of the tapings, the CTV studios on Yonge were so damn close to me but I didn't realize it.

What two sports would they be? Football isn't, but baseball, hockey, and basketball are.

Is lacrosse in the Olympics?
