Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 13, 2003 If the Dreamcast was made before October of 2000, it will support burnt games. If it was made after Oct '00 --Dreamcast apparently became aware that consumers started hacking the system--then you need a boot C.D. ??? What in the world are you talking about? The hardware has nothing to do with it. The Dreamcast is based off Windows. The games are ripped, converted, slap on the echelon self boot deal and re-burned (OK it's not quite that simple but anyway...). The date of the DC is irrelevant. I bought mine brand new in December of 2001 (last shipment of hardware IIRC) and I run burned games without a problem. It was indeed said that only certain DC's could play burnt games, but the last I heard they retracted that statment for some reason. I've never tried on one made after "the date", so I can't really say. I still have one from 1999.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted March 13, 2003 A little help on how to make the bleemcast work and making the damn NFO files work, I cant seem to read the damn things. An nfo file is just a text file. Just open up in whatever text editor you use (TextPad is my text editor of choice, btw). First, unzip the .cdi file to some directory. Then download DiscJuggler. When you start it up, choose "Burn CD Image" (or whatever option it is), then go to the Source box, and type in the path to where the .cdi image is (c:\temp\bleemcast_beta_cracked.cdi), and stick a blank CD in your burner. Then click "Start". When it's done burning, stick it in your Dreamcast. You'll get a "bleem! for Dreamcast" splash screen. At that point, take the CD out, and replace it with your favorite PSX game. Then marvel at the DC's cross-platform abilities. So, nobody has the Tekken 3 bleemcast?
Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 13, 2003 well I converted the cdi into nrg and burned it with Nero but had some problems with the burning process, I guess it was a buffer over run that had it stall for what seems whatever. Then when I put it the Dreamcast all it did was just replay the sega screen and repeat itself. I will try again after I defrag the hard drive.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 17, 2003 I found a Nero image of Bleemcast that works! I only tried playing Warzone on it but it sucks no sound and no damage to the wrestlers!
Guest Hayabusa Moleman Report post Posted March 18, 2003 Just for future reference, I have found some cdi files won't burn when converted to nrg. I am not sure why exactly, unless maybe the cdi is packed so tight and the nrg adds a few bytes that are too much to burn. You might want to just go ahead and download disc jugglar for the cdi files, it's really easy. If you can't find one of those cool <cough> free versions out there, I can send you one if you have broadband and you promise to <cough> register it. Oh yeah, and to the guy wanting that list of Dreamcast games, I have Giant Gram 2, but it is burned on CD somewhere. If noone else has it and you still need it, let me know and I'll look for it. Guest Renegade Report post Posted March 22, 2003 I've downloaded a hefty amount of DC ISO's just using kazza. I downloaded Virtua on, Cannon spike, Super street fighter 2X and Virtua tennis 2 in about 3 days and they were all self boot.

My hard disk isn't very large (and I'm not afraid to admit it, small but fierce, right?) so I can never get into any of the rooms on Direct Connect.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 23, 2003 I found that the Crazy Taxi 2 game on Kazaa does not work, it is missing part 1 of the F'N RAR. Does the House of Dead file work?

Just go onto p2p when you search and type in "dreamcast". Keep pressing search and order the files in size to seperate the ISO's from all the other crap. If you have a new version of kazzaa lite it will auto search so it makes things much easier since you dont have to press the search button over and over again.
