Guest wwF1587 Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 after tonight's RAW its clear that RAW just cant handle being live anymore as there is just WAY too many mistakes happening....I know Vince will never give up L I V E RAW but the audio/video team really need a kick in the ass...The 6 minute long commercial break this week and them not getting Austin's music turned off in time to get Hurricane's win in effect hurt this show.... last week we had CRAZY SCREEN at the beginning.. another a few weeks ago RAW was HUGO... despite some of these problems being funny.. it really hurts the show and RAW is in bad shape enough without all that crap... when Rock leaves.. if the video/audio is still screwed up and the booking is still the way it is...you might as well rename it Nitro... either tape RAW so you have a couple days to fix the errors or STOP THE DAMN PROBLEMS! Its annoying....ok im done ranting
Rob E Dangerously Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 It's pretty much the fault of the country hicks and morons at TNN
Guest jester Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I didn't see the show, but I heard it was like a wrestling show put together by Ed "Plan 9 From Outer Space" Wood. All that was missing is HHH telling Tor Johnson he's not in his league.
Rob E Dangerously Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Raw could use a good 5 minute tape delay
Guest wwF1587 Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 It's pretty much the fault of the country hicks and morons at TNN changing stations could be a solution but itd be faster and easier just to tape RAW... how long is the WWE/TNN contract last anyway? I know SD!'s is up in August but when does RAW's contract end

Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 The mistakes seem to be getting more common these days......this company really needs to get on the ball.
Guest Steviekick Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Tonights errors with the super block of commercials are on TNN's end. The audio problems are WWE's and definitely should be fixed.
Guest SP-1 Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I think that the superblock of commercials was intended to be broken up by the Women's Match segment. It was really short, and how they handled it on the return to the show looked like they were scrambling to get it done. After the ring cleared they quickly showed a video package (which they normally do as an intro coming back from commercials), and switched gears quickly. I think that long spot of black screen was intended to be that Women's match, thus breaking the commercials up. Something messed up though.
Rob E Dangerously Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 The womens match was only timed to have lasted 21 seconds. Obviously they should try again next week
Guest SP-1 Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Yeah but it stands to reason to me that it was supposed to be a little longer. That sudden Victoria run-in finish smells of scrambling to just get it done.

Garth Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I think being on a 5-10 min taped delay would make most sense becaause then there wouldn't be any soilers on the net before the show aired and the ratings would most likely drop if there was.
Guest converge241 Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 That Please Stand By that TNN has is the worst EVER it makes you think that the guy in the picture is running the network (which may not be far off)
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I don't think they had any intention of turning off Austin's music for Hurricane.......
Guest LatinoHeat Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 That Please Stand By that TNN has is the worst EVER Does anyone have a screencap of this?
Guest El Satanico Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 WWe nor TNN were likely responsible for the super long commercial block last night. Unless WWe screwed up something on the show and had to cut the feed to correct it. It was likely just a problem with the signal itself. Something probably interfered with the signal and caused a momentary signal loss. If it was a simple screw up caused by either side it would've been fixed alot quicker than it was. Sun spots caused the problem.
Guest creativename Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Sun spots caused the problem. I think you mean solar flares
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 I don't think RAW NEEDS to be taped, but it would certainly be a smart move from the company's perspective. I tend to prefer taped shows because you can edit out botched moves like they do sometimes on Smackdown. Anyone who attends a TV taping and then watches the show later will understand what I'm talkin about. It is not that big a deal though. Still it would make more sense for WWE to tape RAW especially since there hasn't been any evidence to suggest that it affects the ratings at all. In 1999, RAW was taped every other week and there was no difference at all between taped and live shows. Just don't tape three months in advance like WCW used to do.

Guest iamsherm Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 In 1999, RAW was taped every other week and there was no difference at all between taped and live shows. I disagree here. To me, there will always be a certain, undescribable feeling that is lacking with the taped shows. I just get the feeling that "anything can happen" (be it scripted or unscripted) when it's live and that's pretty much the only thing that made me stick around and watch RAW before Austin and Rock returned. The spoilers that come with the taped shows don't help matters either. I will never forgive WWE for ruining Mick Foley's moment when they announced his title win on the front page of what was then WWF.com. Just my two cents.

I meant ratings-wise, even though I don't notice a difference in quality anyways.
Guest El Satanico Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 The live shows aren't any better than a taped show. WWe giving up big news from a taped show isn't an example of live being better than taped. It's just an example of WWe being total dumbasses. Other than screw up's the whole "it's live so anything can happen" is a myth. Screw ups are fun and all, but not a good reason to keep live shows. I wonder if being taped will give the One and Only Raw thread the same amount of pages as the One and Only Smackdown thread?
Guest papacita Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 That Please Stand By that TNN has is the worst EVER I'm sorry, but that was funny as hell. That had me dying when it popped up in the middle of Trish's entrance.
