And he's in there with The Green Giant remember, who's not exactly well known for being a safe worker.

Based on what? Holly was sandbagging. Kurt being busted open this past SD wasn't anything major. Other than that, where is this trail of bodies Brock has left behind?

If Kurt feels he can do it and is worth whatever risk there may be then I don't see a problem with it. I would imagine he knows a lot more about the situation and the risks than any of us.

Kurt Angle wrestled his olympic trials with a broken neck because he was so blind and driven. And in retrospect he said he regretted doing it because it gave him the neck of an 80 year old and almost killed him.

I fear this is going to be another one of those "In retrospect.." moments.

Oh, yeah, there was Albert, too. I'm not sure of the details there, but that doesn't help my argument at all

ok so the idea for the main event wasnt the most original idea ever.. and the bait and switches have to stop... but in all seriousness i am glad that didnt go ahead and give out this match for free tv.... sure its not Angle forfeiting the title like the dream interview we all had but you gotta get over it... Vince still wants that WWE title match between Angle/Lesner and while it may not be worth it to risk Angle's health.. its not GOLDBERG... and i would like to think that angle does have a say in whether he wants this match or not.. id like to think its somewhat his choice and Vince is not making him do it... you guys need to lighten it up a little.. I understand being worried about Kurt but hey it looks like Team Angle FINALLY got the upper hand this week even if its not what we hoped for... Brock should know hes in deep shit if he messes up at WM.. this ending or this SD! doesnt bother me much and I will watch... if not just for SOH!

I knew he dropped him on his head, was unsure of the particulars of why he got dropped on his head. All that body hair must have been slippery.

Yeah. Dynamite Kid felt the same way.

Wow, my favorite wrestler and in my opinion the best wrestler in a looong time and he could be in a wheelchair because he's STUPID! There's a point where loving your job and loyalty are taken too far. I mean I couldn't imagine being paralyzed because I was stubborn and not being able to play with my son.

Kurt is TOO much of a company man. He sacrifices like hell for this company and how do they repay him? A crap title run that was essentially worthless.

Vince should step in and stop him, but we all know all Vince is concerned with is the almighty dollar.

I have a friend who absolutley HATES Kurt and everything about him, and has even wished him death at times and he's saying Kurt's taking too much of a dumb risk.

I don't think they're doing Angle/Lesnar at WM. If they were then WTF was the point of tonight's match, especially the ending. It seems like it's set up for Angle to be stripped of the belt.

They always seem to book the wrestlers as 'superhuman' who never get injured unless its by someone to progress a storyline when they make a return. They can never just have unfortunate accidents. I mean when X-Pac (ick) got injured in a car accident last year instead of mentioning it they totally ignored the fact he existed until he came back with the NWO.

Why would Angle put himself in such a predicament? Ridiculous. I don't know who is to blame for this. If Kurt decided to do this, he should stop being a selfish prick. He has a newborn and a wife at home, I'm sure they don't want him to be in a wheelchair at a young age. All for what? Headlining a Wrestlemania? Fuck that. Ask Dynamite Kid. Stupid bullshit. These guys are dellusional. This is ONLY a wrestling show! They aren't saving the world. This isn't something to permanently injury themselves over. Stupid stupid stupid. I'd rather see Undertaker face Lesnar at this point than Angle. These guys have no respect for themselves, or their body.

The marks won't even appreciate Kurt's sacrifice because the WWE has never let it be known to them that he is seriously injured.

You know they are going to make Brock do some kind of move to Anlge during the match at Wrestlemania and then say that broke Angle's neck and give Brock credit for it.

I know, that's what pisses me off more than anything. I'm tired of all the injuries being parts of angles.

Kurt needs to open his eyes and see that loyalty to Vince or the fans or some stupid wrestler code is a one way street that's going to bring him nothing but misery and a shortened career.

Amen.........if Angles condition is really as such that "one move can end his career" then I highly doubt he would do this match in the first place.

I look at it in a completely different way........because Angle did that and regretted it, I think he's smart enough to realize he's "been there and done that" and wouldn't take a risk of that nature again, which alot of you here are comparing this injury to (with this career threatening stuff). I honestly think that this injury, albeit it serious enough to put him out a year, isn't something that would get worse off with just working one more match before the surgery, not unless something very unlikely happens like he trips on the top rope when doing a plancha or something of that nature. I'm sure the more risky neck spots will be avoided by Angle. They can still have a fine match without Angle having germans and belly-to-belly overhead suplexes done on him.

Yeah, I suppose. Either way, we can speculate all we want, but it all comes down to just waiting and seeing what happens. I'd rather Kurt not take this risk but if he feels the need to do so I can't stop him.

Let's just hope he gets through whatever happens no worse for wear.

All I know is that I think comparing the Kid and Angle is absurd.....that guy was on the juice for a hell of a long time and damaged his body tenfold over Angle.

No-one's forcing Angle to fight, so I'm not come out with the 'Oh screwlesnar, his title reign's more important than Angle's health' or 'Oh screw Vince, stupid switch and bait.' If there was no match on Smackdown, the marks would'a been pissed. No offense, but the marks were LIVE, no-one watching Smackdown will notice us being pissed off.

As for the 'bait and switch', so what if it's been done before. Just cause an idea's been done before, it should never be done again? God they'd have been out of ideas 5 years ago. There's only so many ideas in wrestling, eventually one will be repeated. I see everyone's point, but hell maybe they'll have Eric in Team Angle now. Cause without Angle, it's not Team Angle.

And now we've got Lesnar-Angle. Angle will hopefully be ok, because Wrestlemania isn't gonna be a normal Lesnar match though. They've still got the opportunity to build each man's amateur career. Then they can have an actual amateur match for the first part at Mania. Hell Angle had the broken neck at the Olympics. I KNOW it's totally different, but Angle knows how to protect himself in the amateur environment. After that, no F-5! Hit the Shooting Brock Press, that shouldn't hurt the neck as much.

Hopefully they'll protect Angle as much as possible if Angle's inistent of putting Brock over...which by the way is more than HHH would do. HHH won't put people over when he's 100% for God's sake! Really puts his attitude in perspective.

I would mark the fuck out like never before if he finishes Angle with the SSP at Mania.....Safeco Field would absolutely erupt if that happened, more than anything because Lesnars SSP is THAT damn impressive seeing it live.

Yeah, working off the amateur wrestling exchanges (which you know they will do) is one way to easily avoid any further damage to Angle in the outset of the bout. In other words there is a lot of shit these guys can do to make up for possible risk spots that might hurt Angles neck.

I give up. I really do. Kurt is just to fucking stupid. He's SO fucking eager to please, he'll do everything they want of him, all for a company that doesn't give a shit about him.

AND THE FEUD STILL SUCKS!

Here is an update on why Kurt is going through with the match at Wrestlemania

"PWTorch.com has learned that Kurt Angle volunteered to wrestle at WrestleMania after all, surprising Vince McMahon and the creative team who had been planning since last week a way to get the belt off of him at this week's Smackdown. The match last night was originally booked with a completely different finish, one which would have resulted in Brock winning the title.

Angle decided to delay surgery three weeks in order to have his match against Brock as scheduled. He believes waiting three weeks and wrestling one more match won't put him at great risk, and he really didn't want to hurt the company if he could avoid it. (And that estimated $350,000 WrestleMania bonus check was tempting, too.) He plans to have as good of a match as he feels he is physically able to have in three weeks, and believes after three weeks of rest, it has potential to be a pretty good one."

The plans were kept top secret at Smackdown yesterday as only a small inner-circle knew about Angle's change of plans until the match took place.

Well i must say Angle is the stupidest motherfucker in the world or the bravest, hopefully Vince appreciates that and pushes him through the moon when Kurt comes back, but the bad thing about this is that that dumb hoss Brocky is going to win the title, talk about being too predictable.

Someone care to explain to me what the differences between this show and the ones from pre-NWO are, so I can see exactly where Heyman's demotion has factored in?

We have our token long match (and I know a few said that would end), Taker fooling around with other hossi.. hell, Lesnar actually looks human for once by making a mistake! That's a step UP from what we've seen from him in several weeks.
