Guest redbaron51 Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 Michael Jackson Flock of Seaguls Fleetwood Mac Elton John America James Taylor Mudvayne
Guest saturnmark4life Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 I second mudavyne, I'm afraid. I have the 'LD 50' album, and actually think it would be quite good if it was half the length. Should I check out the new one redbaron? And slipknot. I've always maintained they are far from the worst offenders of the nu metal shit storm, Corey is an ass but I think a handful of their songs are fine. And there's NOTHING wrong with Justin Timberlake. No really, he's hilarious to watch but talented at the same time.
Patty O'Green Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I'll freely admit that I love Britney and Christina. I can admit that I like just about every female pop star. I'll openly proclaim that Nelly Furtado is my favorite artist, I own a Shania Twain CD, and that all but one cd in my collection is by a female artist. However, I'll never admit to anyone I know that I liked "Roll Out" by Ludacris. All my friends hate him so much, that I think they'd punch me in the face if I told them I liked that song. You've learned my secret shame.
Guest Insanityman Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I'm not a metalhead by any means, so I openly can listen to Slipknot... but my mother, who's addicted to his artist, has now got me listening to Bruce Springsteen songs every now and then. Don't own any of his CD's or whatever- but it's wwwwaaayyyy out of place with my picky taste of music.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Michael Jackson Yep, i can see how the greatest pop music ever crafted by a single person would be DARN humiliating to own. Sure do, uh-huh. UYI
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I have To the Extreme by Vanilla Ice You win.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Weird Al Yankovic is the king of the guilty pleasure.
Guest raptor Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Hey, Evanescence can't be a guilty pleasure! Everyone should own "Fallen" and sing it's praises constantly.
Guest redbaron51 Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 To me Michael Jackson is a guilty pleasure... The new Mudvayne CD is tolerable, but don't buy it until its cheap, receive it as a gift, or burn it.
Guest CanadianChick Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 You know what CD ruled? the soundtrack to "Spacejam". That cd rules.
Guest treble charged Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I own the Men In Black soundtrack, but I don't really like it, so I guess it doesn't count as a guilty pleasure. I do own all 3 Sum 41 CDs, though, and around these parts, I guess that could count as one.
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I like Britney's first album, some stuff by Michelle Branch, and of course, BON JOVI (dunno if that counts or not).
Guest Vyce Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Linkin Park. Yeah, go ahead, laugh. I'm not exactly a big fan of theirs, and I think they're ridiculously overplayed on the radio, and it's not as if I own their CD(s) or have any mp3s of them on my harddrive.....but if one of their songs comes on the radio, I don't necessarily change the station. Oh, and there is NOTHING WRONG with liking any of the following: 1) Michelle Branch: Like Hollywood said, she's VERY talented. And I think she'll still be around 5 years from now, unlike others (*coughavrilcough*). 2) Disturbed: The entire nu-metal genre is awful, but these guys are pretty decent, and a lot of fun to catch live. 3) Evanescence: Love the album. They're fine by me (right, raptor?)
Guest LJSexay Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I love Linkin Park. I love Staind... I love Our Lady Peace (if that's not something people are generally into) and um... I have 2 MJ songs. eh
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 I am currently in love with The Dixie Chicks cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide." Damned if that song doesn't bring a tear to my eye.
Mecha Mummy Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 You know what CD ruled? the soundtrack to "Spacejam". That cd rules. Hell yeah! If I hit 'em high, hit 'em high, hit 'em high, if you hit 'em low, hit 'em low, hit 'em low....
Guest saturnmark4life Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 I actually like 'cigarettes and alcohol' by Oasis. A bit.
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 Creed WWF CDs Disco CDs Def Leppard Poison Bon Jovi ::Barricades myself to avoid flying debris directed at me::
Guest wwF1587 Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Hey, Evanescence can't be a guilty pleasure! Everyone should own "Fallen" and sing it's praises constantly. damn straight!... now i dont feel soo weird about liking the CD soo much, thanks
Guest Bloodice Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 i'm mainly into punk/goth/heavy metal but now and then if nobodys around and i'm bored i'll throw in an 80's mix of taylor dayne, samantha fox and vixen with a few songs of lita ford
HurriShane Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 I actually kind of enjoy Blink 182. I wouldn't actually buy one of their CDs but I have a friend that does so I just burn a copy of his.
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 I have To the Extreme by Vanilla Ice You win. a lot of people growing up in the early 90's own that cd so that doesn't shock me. NOW, if you owned any of his subsequent albums THEN i would be worried. as for me, i love the monkees. i own eight of their cd's and i am not ashamed to admit it. great pop songs written by some of the best songwriters of the 60's.
Guest T®ITEC Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Speaking of the Monkees, I ended up with an original copy of their first (?) LP. It's great, actually. My "guilty pleasure" is just '80s music. Even the really bad stuff. I love it. People just make me feel like some kind of jerk when they find out that I'm listening to, say, the Pet Shop Boys.
Guest notJames Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Shame on you. 80s New Wave is chock full of aural pleasure. Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, Depeche Mode, OMD, Devo, Psychedlic Furs... basically anything that appeared on a John Hughes soundtrack.
