HEAT is moving to TNN for good starting on April 6th. I haven't gotten the above item confirmed, but I can tell you that everyone I spoke to in WWE about it told me that they wouldn't be surprised to hear that had happened. MTV has basically lost interest in Heat and TNN is going to an "all male" network strategy and Heat fits right into that thought process. 1wrestling

I can only assume that only the channel is changing, not the show time. As for what channel it is on, I don't really think it makes a difference. The only time the show strayed away from its in-arena wrestling-based format was when it first went on MTV and was televised from WWF NY. Once that format got dumped, it became just like the other B-level shows (which was a good thing in this case).

Almost no one watches either show when they run without competition, so why hurt the ratings even more by placing them head-to-head? I could understand if decent matches with upper card wrestlers took place on those shows, but it's usually fucking Albert and Maven.

Since I never really want to watch an hour of recaps of stuff I saw recapped on all the other Heats and all the Velocities. But I understand ... people don't care about Chuck Palumbo or Steven Richards.
Guest El Satanico Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 They likely figured out that Sundays at 7pm isn't going to get good ratings regardless so why make the "stars" wrestle an extra match that few will watch. Other than the first month I don't think Heat ever got good ratings even when it still used some "stars". Also there's no good secondary stars/wrestlers on Raw which hurts Heat since it's a show for Raw's secondary stars/wrestlers. Velocity isn't as bad because they have the cruisers and secondary stars who are somewhat over from Smackdown to fill the show with. If they change the day that Heat's on they'd probably change the time slot as well.

And that was basically without the biggest names. Yes. When Heat first debuted in August 1998, it was the #2 show. They had the stars appear (there was no Smackdown bak then), it wasn't just squash matches either. I believe the first main event of Heat was Mankind vs. The Undertaker. Vince Russo once said Heat was a "One hour build up till Raw." Once Smackdown became a weekly show in late '99, Heat slowly started to fade away to what it is today.
