Guest El Luchadore Magnifico Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 When the lights go down in the City And the sun shines on the bay I want to be there in my City Ohh, ohh, ohh... There he sat, flooded with the blinding light of the setting sun as it descended on the gorgeous bay that surrounded the isle of Manhattan. The lone figure, his head bowed, seems almost blind to the beautiful scene unfolding in front of him as he stands solitary on the middle of the Brooklyn Bridge, leaning up against the edge that prevents him from plunging into the icy water below. Suddenly, another figure joins our mystery man, slowly walking up from behind him and leaning up against the wall right next to the lonesome figure. Slowly, he raises his head and turns towards his new companion, his mask glinting in the sunlight as he does so. “Hiya, Mag.” CIA slowly says, unsure as to what reaction his presence will bring. El Luchadore Magnifico turns towards his Canadian compatriot and smiles weakly, glad to see his stablemate beside him. He turns back towards the sunset, and CIA does the same, neither man speaking for a few moments as the Manhattan skyline is slowly illuminated in the background. So you think you're lonely Well my friend I'm lonely too I want to get back to my City by the bay Ohh, ohh, ohh... “I heard you missed your flight to London.” CIA began, “I knew you’d still be in New York because of your family, but what are you doing out here, all by yourself?” Magnifico sighs heavily. “This is just...just someplace for me to relax, esse.” ELM responds. “I always did love the view, you know?” “Sure, sure.” Says CIA, not quite certain how he should continue with this conversation. Luckily, Magnifico does it for him, as he turns towards the Canadian with a sad look in his eyes. “CIA...what am I doing here?” Magnifico asks earnestly, his face filled with emotion. “Um, well,” stutters CIA, taken aback by the question, “First, you missed that plane, and then I’m guessing you took a taxi down here-“ “No, no, that’s not what I mean.” ELM sighs, turning back towards the bay. “I mean, what am I still doing in the SWF?” CIA is even more surprised by this question than the last, which would be fairly evident if one could see his face. As it is, CIA just remains silent as Magnifico continues talking. “I mean, I have everything I could ever want, right here in New York.” Magnifico starts, his voice sad and longing. “I’ve made enough money to live off of for quite a while, and my family is getting tired of seeing me only two or three times a year. So why? Why do I put myself through physical torture every single night, just so I can get on a plane when I’m done and continue the cycle in some other faceless town?” CIA studies the distraught luchadore for a second, unsure of what to say. “I mean, if I got on that flight and went to London, it would just be so that me and TNT could beat the hell out of each other for others’ entertainment.” Magnifico continues, “Even if I do win, all it gives me is the opportunity to go someplace else, fight some other opponent, suffer another night of pain. So why?” “Pride.” CIA simply states. Magnifico turns to his ally, confused. “You know why you do this, Magnifico. You just don’t want to admit it.” States CIA. “Going out there and putting on the best match you can, entertaining the fans as much as possible...that makes you proud to be a wrestler. It makes you proud to be in the business you’re in.” ELM turns back to the bay, pondering CIA’s theory. “It makes you proud to be a Mexican.” Magnifico’s eyes open wide as CIA says this, but he does not take his eyes off the sunset. “You know that when you go out there, every one of your countrymen are cheering you on. They want you to succeed. They want you to win. They NEED you to represent Mexico.” CIA finished, his eyes locked on Magnifico. ELM remains motionless for a moment, absorbing CIA’s words...and then stands up straight and turns towards his ally, a smile painted across his face. “Thank you, compadre. I needed that.” Says ELM, speaking as though he really means what he says. “Ah, no problem, eh?” CIA responds, smiling. “C’mon, let’s get out of here.” The two Carnies turn and slowly walk along the bridge in silence, until Magnifico suddenly pipes up. “I need you to do me a favor, CIA.” Magnifico states, his eyes on the ground in front of him. “Sure, what do you need?” questions the Canadian, curious. ELM takes a deep breath. “No matter how bad it looks out there with TNT,” Magnifico starts, “Do not try and help me. I need to know that I can beat him by myself, you know?” CIA studies the luchadore for a second, smiling. “Sure Mag, I think I can do that.” Magnifico grins. “Gracias.” And so, the two allies walk off into the sunset, their problems behind them for now. However, a whole new outlook is spanned out in front of them, just waiting to be explored. END

Guest Ace309 Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 As always, Mags his the quality rather than the quantity. Of course he writes well. He wouldn't be the champion if he didn't.
