Guest JDMattitudeV1 Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 I think that sending Jericho to smackdown wouldn't be such a bad idea. He's one of the most over heals in WWE, as well as one of it's best in ring performers. He's never worked a program with Lesner, nor has he worked with a face Benoit as a heel himself. Plus it will get him away from the HHH show, meaning he will be aloud to get over as the top heal he deserves to be.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 JD, that's stupid. You'd only be hurting RAW worse, and that's the LAST thing the WWE needs right now.
Guest JMA Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 I think they'll use the same program they used with Hogan/Heenan. As in a manager/agent will have differant wrestlers/clients try to take out one wrestler. In this case Heyman will play the role of manager/agent while Brock will play the obstacle.

I know it would make raw worse, but the fact is Jericho will never be allowed to reach his full potential on Raw, because Raw is the HHH show, and despite how unover he may be HHH will always be pushed as the top heal. I see your point though, raw needs all the help it can get.
Guest CanadianChick Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 JD, that's stupid. You'd only be hurting RAW worse, and that's the LAST thing the WWE needs right now. Why not? It is clear that Trips and Rock are the top heels on Raw. Smackdown has no one after Kurt leaves, heels wise, unless they turn Benoit/Lesner. But then they wouldn't have many faces. Damn, all these injuries are really killing each show.
Guest Pigsy Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 As for the top heel, maybe they'll turn Brock - the unbeatable monster character works better for a heel, IMO. Name a recent example? Goldberg bombed as a heel and Lesnar bombed as a heel. Both were given God-pushes. Batista was also never over his entire WWE tenure. I was thinking more from my personal point of view - the idea of the hero overcoming the odds to beat a seemingly unbeatable villain is, I think, a more interesting story. Having said that, it can only work well if you have a good hero, who people want see win. I wasn't really thinking of anything specific, but the McMahon-Helmsley regime, in 2000, where Triple was the dominant champion who people wanted to see get his comeuppance from The Rock is one example.
Guest Brian Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Yes, because Heyman didn't do enough of booking himself at the top of the card when he was the head writer.
Guest Kid Kablam Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Just a question -- How well is Eric Angle doing in OVW? Is he showing any skill at all? Provided he's fully healed from his previous injury (I think a muscle tear), I was thinking he could very well be the replacement in Team Angle. It's no Kurt though. Other than that, I could see Benjamin and Haas staying as a duo, with or without the on-going Angle association. Please give them some sort of personality though. Top heel... I pray it's not Show. Or A-Train. Jones will probably feud with Undertaker later on though. Ugh. Rhyno, provided he turns, isn't there yet. Kanyon could fill a spot in the upper midcard, provided they stop playing him up as a complete comedy character. Cena could be a top heel later on. I could see them turning Benoit. OF the current wrestlers on SD, he's probably the best choice to become the top heel. Either him or maybe trade Jericho back to SmackDown after WM? Of course all these injuries certainly lends credibility to the theory that Vince should've been pushing new guys years ago. He's been completely unprepared for the current situation, with the exception of Lesnar. I would mark big time for a Face Benoit/Heel Jericho feud. It would be a bizarro world sorta thing to their last feud with Jericho using all the heel tactics and being all badass. Then when Benoit turns heel they could have the Bizarro world Canadian Violence Connection.

Benoit just decimates the shoulder and Jericho sells it--almost a 2 straight falls win for Benoit. DRAGON SUPLEX!! Sneaky heel win for Benoit with holding the rope! WHOO!

Funny you should mention Jericho selling the shoulder in a match versus Benoit, because I was just watching BEnoit/Jericho ladder match at Royal Rumble. I love that match so much. And Jericho did a great job of selling the shoulder.

Guest Zero_Cool Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 Jericho/Benoit at RR was just..awesome. Remember the chair shot off of the suicide dive? Sick.. I say moving Jericho to Smackdown would be a great idea...IF he goes over Michaels at Wrestlemania. That way, with a HUGE win under his belt, he can go to Smackdown and immediately be the top guy, cuz he did something that no one else on that show could do, beat Shawn Michaels clean in the middle of the ring. Hell, bring Christian along to be his lackey. Give them some promo time and the feud with Brock and we're talking good Summer television... But, the stars would have to align for somehting cool like this to happen, Michaels would need to job, and they'd have to treat Chris with respect for a little while

It completely screws people who only get Raw. Without Jericho and Christian Raw would suck even more. If Brock wasn't practically set in stone to win the title, he could go to Raw and that would even things out a bit. Plus Rock isn't going to be around much longer anyway... Oh, and yeees the 2K1 Rumble Ladder match was awesome stuff. Only saw it on tape so far, but I was thinking Benoit just had to have had some teeth knocked loose. Yoooowch!

Guest CanadianChick Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 But the fact still remains that Smackdown still needs a top heel. And to not hurt Raw more, you could always trade someone else (sorry, can't think of anyone off the top of my head). THis way, it would give a fresh batch of storylines to each brand and god knows they need that right now.

If you can build Cena up as a legit threat and not a retard, then you a have a heel who's about as good as WCW era Jericho on the mic, but who has nowhere near the level of baggage.
Guest gwf0704 Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Top heel in my book should be Latino Heat, Eddie Guerrero! I love his work as a heel as he can generate incredible heat and is a skilled mic and mat worker. He was on his way when Stone Cold left. He may not be able to beat Brock or UT, but utilized wisely he could be the Smackdown version of Jericho. Cocky, intelligent, witty and a damn fine wrestler.....
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Cocky, intelligent, witty and a damn fine wrestler..... He may be a good wrestler, but I have never found him articulate or witty, at least in his WCW and WWE characters.

The problem with Eddy Guerrero is that since he is hispanic, the powers that be seem to want to overdo the hispanic side of him a little too much. If you were to see his matches in Mexico when he was with Los Gringos Locos with Art Barr it was cool. The man is talented on the mic if he loses the gang talk.....
