Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Looks like Maryland is doing what they do in about EVERY year of the NCAA tourny, struggle to a slim margin victory in the first round, and then get down to business from there on out. At half time, they are handling Xavier with relative ease. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted March 24, 2003 well, with Florida choking like I knew they would, I have the 4 teams left in the South, 2 of the 4 in the east (Syracuse and Oklahoma), 2 of the teams in the West (Kansas and Arizona) and 3 of the 4 in the East (Marquette, Pittsburgh and Kentucky) 11 of the Sweet 16 teams is fairly good.. Only 1 of my elite 8 teams is gone (Louisville) and the prospects of Maryland advancing to the finals like I predicted look even that much better.. Maryland vs Michigan St. is the last game of the Sweet 16 round on Friday Night... The only game I lost today was Florida/Michigan State as I had Butler over the Cardinals who i've been telling everyone all season long would NOT reach the sweet 16. Now we get marquette vs pitt, duke vs kansas and a few other good games. And in womens brackets at this rate i'm going to end up 31-1 after tonights last two games. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted March 30, 2003 Hmm. Marquette probably screwed up 98.9% of the brackets in the entire country, between beating Pitt (screwed me) and now beating Kentucky. I need Arizona and Syracuse to win tonight/tomorrow, and Im rooting for MSU over Texas. I would love to see Marquette vs Syracuse in the final, that would be an awesome game, but a 3 vs 3 seed game between 1 semi-big name school and 1 "Where the hell is that college" in Marquette probably won't get too good of ratings. CBS is probably hoping that Kansas wins and ends up playing Texas or Oklahoma in the final for the Big 12 hype..but that would probably be a bad game, although Id root for Kansas so Roy Williams could get his title.
