Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 From the "Where Are They Now?" file: Tony Halme, the professional boxer turned wrestler, who enjoyed moderate success in New Japan Pro Wrestling and had a brief run in the WWF in 1993 as Ludvig Borga, has been elected to Parliament in his native Finland. Halme being elected is not much of a surprise, although he had a larger margin of victory than expected. Many political parties in the country enlisted celebrity candidates in an attempt to have a greater voice in Parliament, which includes 200 members. Halme is a member of the "True Finns" party. 1wrestling.com Not sure if this goes in the General folder, if so, please move it.
Guest treble charged Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 Tatanka needs to stay the fuck out of Finland.
Guest Nevermortal Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 You say this is the land of milk and honey? Well down here, it smells funny.
cawthon777 Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 (walking around in the ghetto) You call this the land of opportunity? America is crumbling, Lex Luger. And when you step into the ring with Ludvig Borga, you will crumble just like it.
Guest Caliban Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 Will he do his bit for the environment like he always wanted?
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 The thing is, he's in as a far right nationalist member. The true finns are basically a party devoted to ensuring the ethnic purity of Finland (admitedly this is an oversimplification, but hey!)
Guest Trivia247 Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 Wonder if Borga will lead the Fins in a War against Iraq heh
Guest The Czech Republic Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 "Tony Halme" doesn't sound like a pure Finnish name the way "Teppo Numminen" does.
Guest BobbyWhioux Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 The thing is, he's in as a far right nationalist member. The true finns are basically a party devoted to ensuring the ethnic purity of Finland (admitedly this is an oversimplification, but hey!) Yeah, that's what sort of party "True Finns" sounded like; one of those right wing Xenophobia parties that have been all the rage in Europe the past decade or so [Jeorg Haider's "damn foriegners" party actually was the ruling coalition for a while in Austria]. So, to dittohead Treble's earlier post, Tatanka REALLY better stay the fuck out of Finland. You know, they SO need to do a Jesse Ventura vs Ludvig Borga match now.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 Or team him with triple K.
Guest Steviekick Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 What a proud day God bless Finlandia
Guest CED Ordonez Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 http://www.tonyhalme.net Check out the former Ludvig Borga with the political look going after the splash page. I'd post it here, but it's in Flash form. I hope he defeats bills and measures by pinning them with one finger.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 He can also torture rack anyone who stands in his way.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 BORGA ! BORGA! BORGA! I still remember him legally killing Jannety at SS93.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 ::Hums Ludvig Borga's Theme Music:: Greatest...Ever.
