Sure, he is using a guitar, but his singing is totally a knock off of Cena's raps to rip the home town fans. Cena got over huge doing it first, now Rocky does it every week. Rocky doesn't even play different chords when he plays, he strums the same chords each week. What a waste. Its all a conspiracy against Cena.

The Rock character thinks of himself as the complete entertainer: as a wrestler, as a promo guy, as an actor, and yes, as a singer. I do think it is annoying he uses the same tune every week, but I don't really think he's ripping off Cena. Rock's subtlely hinted many times he's a bit of an Elvis fan, and has kinda tried to put that into his character (lip quiver vs. eyebrow). However, it isn't like they were on the same show, otherwise that would be rather repetitive.

I think he's done a good job so far of making his character go from comedy gimmick to something people might actually take seriously in just a matter of weeks. The rhyming doesn't affect his credibility at all. If anything, it's been helping it.
