Mrnoitaull 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2003 Didnt which of the two boards I should put it on : here or Movies so I figured just try one. But have you ever saw a movie and though that they looked like a particular superhero(pbbly only me) Or read a cmoic and figured who would pull them off better then anyone. Well gimme your encite if you have here's mine: Morph-Jim Carrey Human Torch-Mark Paul Gosselar(Saved by the beel aka Zack) Iron Man-Tom Cruise Pslocke-Roselyn Sanchez(Boat Trip/Rush Hour 2) Toad-Rik Mayall(Drop Dead Fred as Fred) Universe X Cap America-Bruse Willis Venom-Vin Diesel Juggernaut-Brock Lesnar(WWE) Just to name a few If you have nay, please show us what you got
Guest starvenger Report post Posted March 18, 2003 I'm kinda glad that you put it on this board, we could use some fresh blood in here. Anyways, the "Casting Call" section is just about the only good part of Wizard. Well, that and the title of Todd McFarlane's column (Everybody's Got Opinions. Arrogant little bastard, ain't he?) So let's have a go at some of the X-Men: Morph - In an ideal world, Morph is still Changeling and still dead, dead, dead. Psylocke (before) - Victoria Beckham. Why? Because before they did that entire fucked up storyline where she became a Japanese assassin, she was a very boring character. And if anyone could pull off the part of a boring rich British woman, it's gotta be the former Posh Spice. Of course, if they decide to make Psylocke a British asskicker, then I'd go with Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice. But you all knew that. Admit it.) Psylocke (after) - My first choice would be Kelly Hu, but they went and made her Deathstrike. So let's say Michelle Yeoh since we know she can handle a sword. Juggernaut - If there's a budget, then Juggy's all CGI. Give someone like Vinnie Jones the voiceover parts. Black Tom - Colin Farrell, I guess. Colm Meaney would be pretty cool, but then you'd have to find an older counterpart for Banshee. Banshee - I think that Jason Staltham (Snatch, The One) would be pretty good here. Shadowcat - Pick any young actress and they'd probably work in here. I've gotta name somebody, so let's say Jessica Alba and move on, ok? Magik - Elisha Cuthbert would probably fit this role pretty well. Beast - Again, this is probably a CGI thing, but otherwise you need a guy who is pretty built. And since The Rock wouldn't have to worry about visible tattoos when he's blue and furry, I say give him the role. there you go.
Guest raptor Report post Posted March 18, 2003 Gambit- Oded Fehr. He's got a mixture of bad-ass and slimey charm that Gambit needs. Blink- Natalie Portman. Has the innocent looks, but is also believable as a leader. Beast- CGI with John Cleese's voice. Ever since I was young, I always read Beast as having Cleese's voice. Mimic (eXiles)- I have to steal Jason Statham here. Maybe a little too British. Morph (eXiles)- Jason Lee. You know he'd nail it. Mr. Sinister- Willem Dafoe. Has to be creepy while wearing retarded make up. See Dafoe in Shadow of the Vampire. I think that Screenwriter David Fury's casting for Fantastic Four is spot on: The Human Torch- Paul Walker. All kinds of perfect. The Thing- CGI with John C. Reilly's voice. I would just give Reilly the part flat-out, if they could get the make up right. Invisible Woman- Charlize Theron. Not a big fan, but I cannot think of anyone better. and finally, the greatest comic-movie casting decision of all time: Mr. Fantastic- ALEXIS DENISOFF! He playes Wesley on Angel, and after watching this season, there is no doubt in my mind that he'd be perfect. He's a believable superhero, and seems to have an underlying intellectualism to him that Reed Richards needs.
Mrnoitaull 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2003 I've got Gabriel Byrne over Willem Dafoe . I still think Bruce Campbell should've played Green Goblin, but thats just me . BUt Oded Fehr,Bah Gawd, damn impressive!!!::applause:: I can see Paul as Johnny ...either him or Drake (Iceman) Oh yeah : Apocalypse(human size)-Brian Thompson (Mortal Kombat 2/Lionheart/Dragonheart) Mystique-Michelle Pfieffer (no matter how arguable that can be she still has it)
Guest raptor Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Man, Byrne would be an awesome Sinister. If they choose him, they should tone down the face paint and make him more human. You totally missed that Brian Thompson was "Luke" the original annoited one on Buffy. He could be a good Apocalypse. I think he has the voice for it, at least. Mrnoitaull 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Rosario Dawson could do good Domino, unless I jave race identity problem. Silver Surfer-Sean Patrick Flanney(though pbbly cgi) Marrow-Micheel Rodriguez(that sick, tomboy look can be sexy) Arcade-Carrottop(I think itll work but only to a few) Bishop-Avery Brooks/Vine Rhimes(you pick) Thunderbird Antonio Sabato Jr. Carnage-Kevin Bacon(give him a job for once)
Guest starvenger Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Rosario Dawson could do good Domino, unless I jave race identity problem. Doesn't matter, she wears power-white makeup...
Guest raptor Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Ice-T must play Bishop. That is all.
Mrnoitaull 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Ice T as in New Jack City/Cop Killer Ice T?! Sure, he's hard and ruthless, but man, he's 'bout 5'5". Not that intimdating, brute guy I remeber so well.... You know what the heck, that could actually work after a few English language classes. I can see it. Guest starvenger Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Mark Hamill hasn't done any voice work outside of Batman TAS and BOP so he should do voice acting for a superhero movie for once. Guest the 1inch punch Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Can we do any superhereos? The Punisher - Matthew Settle. If your'e saying who? right now, He played Speirs in Band Of Brothers, and has just the right mix of Psycho in him Preacher - I'm not too hot on James Marsden, since he does fuck all in X-Men, but its obvious Johnny Depp won't go near it, so I'm stuck Superman - Well, the proverbial pass the parcel here. Ashton Kutcher wouldn't have been a bad choice, but obviously he doesnt want it, since you can pick anyone, and it will still make billions at the box office. I suspect if Nick Stahl impresses in T3 he might be considered. Personally, the current favorite, Victor Webster has a decent look, but I dont watch MutantX so I cant pass judgement. I don't see why the studio can't wait a few years and let Tom Welling do it. Batman. Guy Pearce Batman Year One: Colin Hanks The Fantastic Four. Lets presume that Thing and Human Torch are CGI, get Paul Walker to do Johnny Storm (whatever his name is, dont read f4). George Clooney has been name-dropped in relation to Reed Richards vbut if Trish Stratus becomes the invisible Girl i'll shoot somebody. Iron Man: Jason Lee Captain America : Neal McDonaugh, another Band of Brothers pick, but he's in Boom town and would be great

I don't see why the studio can't wait a few years and let Tom Welling do it. Webster wouldn't be a bad choice but you can sense that Warner wants a recognizable name in there as Supes, so you'll get the likes of a Freddy Prinze, Jr in that role. And yes, I'm as scared as you over that prospect. Speaking of MutantX, John Shea was a great Lex Luthor, use him in that role. The Fantastic Four. Well, Trish DOES fit the traditional look for a comic book heroine (curvy with big boobs) but I can't see that happening. I'd love to see Cameron Diaz as Invisible Woman though. Captain America : Neal McDonaugh, another Band of Brothers pick, but he's in Boom town and would be great Interesting choice. Did you know that he was the voice of Bruce Banner in the 90's Hulk cartoon?
Guest Steviekick Report post Posted March 20, 2003 I could see that Jason Lee would make a good Gambit. Possibly even a good Kyle Rayner Green Lantern.
Guest HellSpawn Report post Posted March 20, 2003 (edited) My $0.02 Batman Year One (mid 20s). ? Jim Gordon Year One. ? Batman Regular time (late 20s early 30s). Maybe Chris Noth from Law & Order, this guy is huge but can play easily a millionarie, in fact he plays a rich guy in Sex and the city. Jim Gordon regular time. ? Montoya & Bullock. Michelle Rodriguez & ? Talia. Charlize Theron. Ras' al Ghul. ? Catwoman. Angelina Jolie. Poison Ivy. Milla Jovovich. And you know... looking at his new Manga oriented look... Archangel looks like HHH. I'll be back soon to fill in the blanks. Edited March 21, 2003 by HellSpawn

Guest pochorenella Report post Posted March 20, 2003 I just pray to God that the studio doesn't reconsider Freddie Prinze jr. for Spider-Man 2 if Tobey Maguire doesn't heal in time. As for me, I just wanna see Tom Cruise as Iron Man. Guaranteed box-office smash, I say! I would thank him forever.

Guest pochorenella Report post Posted March 20, 2003 Tobey Maguire got injured filming his latest movie in which he plays a race horse jockey or something to that effect. It seems his back got somewhat busted and there's the possibility that he won't make it for the shooting start date for SM2 if he doesn't heal in time. The guy from Donnie Darko seems to be the top contender to replace him just in case, but with these Hollywood geniuses you never know. Prinze jr. might be lobbing for the part I'm sure. Guest DrTom Report post Posted March 21, 2003 Iron Man would be a tough role to cast. You don't need a brawny tough guy, since the armor gives him all his powers. However, Tony Stark is a very deep and interesting character. I think Cruise would be a pretty good choice, and he'd definitely bring legitimacy to the movie overall. The only problem is, would he commit to the sequel(s) if the first movie is successful? If not, I think someone like Jim Caviezel would be a good choice. A few other random choices: Ghost Rider: Nicolas Cage doesn't strike me as a bad Johnny Blaze. If they wanted to do the Danny Ketch GR, then I think Jake Gyllenhaal would be a good pick. Invisible Woman (FF): Charlize Theron Bishop: Avery Brooks (whom I think would not make a good Jim Rhodes/War Machine) Superman: Wait a few years and let Tom Welling do it. And get a good fucking script. Wonder Woman: Someone fairly tall. Angelina Jolie is the first name that springs to mind.

Angelina Jolie is the first name that springs to mind. Cool, it's like you agree with me but then youd don't . Angelina's is like too...new age action hero ever since Tomb Raider. I cant see her playing a ritualistic superdiva. I look along the lines of someone older looking like.. Dangit, I cant think of anyone. somebody help me out ! For Wonder Woman, I'd like to see someone with a build like WWE's Victoria. But with, you know, acting ability. Otherwise, Elisha Dushku or Asia Argento. Guest the 1inch punch Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Brett Ratner Officially Leaves Superman Movie Posted By Ashish on 03.20.03 Director leaves Superman for Rush Hour 3... The mess that is Superman continues. Brett Ratner, long attached to direct the film, has officially left the project. Ratner will now move on to direct Rush Hour 3 for New Line Cinema. Ratner had originally gotten out of his deal to do Rush Hour 3 so that he could do Superman (and do Rush Hour 3 following it), but those plans have now been reversed and the director will do Rush Hour 3 now. Ratner released a statement and said the following: "I have chosen to withdraw as director of 'Superman.' The difficulty of casting the role of Superman has contributed to my decision. I appreciate the efforts of Warner Bros. and the entire production team during this process." Rumor has it that Ratner was upset when Warner Bros. refused to OK his pick for the star in Superman, that being soap opera star Matthew Bomer. Credit: Variety WHOO-HOO Who is Matthew Bomer?
