Ultimo Dugas 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2003 While running down the guests for next weeks shows Kilborn mentioned Vince McMahon as beign one of his guests. I assume he's there to hype WrestleMania.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Maybe he'll try to beat him up. I find it funny that Kilborn has wrestlers as guests. When that show started he made the Owen Hart joke after his death.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 19, 2003 I'm sure the "Kiss my ass club" will be highlighted footage.
FroGG_NeaL 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Bah. Not even Vince can get me to watch that guy's show. Now, when he's on Conan, I'm there.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Vince was on Conan once. Conan asked him why he never decided to be World Champion himself. Vince started to say that the WWF had a thing called "Credability" and the whole crowed laughed at him. Vince decided to win the title not long after. When that show started he made the Owen Hart joke after his death. First Impression: Kilborn is cool and all, but he sounds like he doesnt know FUCK ALL about wrestling. I mean, he ran down the guest list for tonight's show and said "...we also have Professional Wrestler, Chris Jericho from Wrestlemania.." Can't wait to see how the interview flows. Kilborn: "So you guys really get hurt, dontcha?"

You've somehow found a way to make Vince's title win be somewhat entertaining to me. You da man.
Guest art_vandelay Report post Posted March 19, 2003 So for those that caught it, how was the Jericho interview? BTW, Goldust will be on Howard Stern tomorrow morning.
Guest EternallyLazy Report post Posted March 19, 2003 It was alright... he kind of came off looking like a dork though a few times And Craig actually knew a little about the AWA, mentioning Verne Gagne and how he watched it as a child
Guest The Tino Standard Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Jericho's interview was pretty good. Kilborn played some Fozzy, but f'd up royally when he only had one track loaded up. He went to play a second song and it was just the same as the first. Doh. The whole thing felt a little rushed because Derek Fisher from the Lakers ran long in the first segment, but Jericho came off like a champ. His story about talking smack to a 10 year old was priceless.

Guest subliminal_animal Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Kilborn knew more about wrestling than I thought. He knew about Verne Gagne and said how he used to watch AWA when Jericho brought it up. I thought he was okay. His story about the ten-year-old didn't come off well to me. Not all that funny. He seemed a little dorky overall. Maybe it was nerves. What did he say about Owen Hart? He said that The Blue Blazer died on a PPV the night before. Then he joked that his partner "The Red Sportscoat" was thankfully unharmed. Maybe it wasn't sportscoat, but it was something to that effect.
Ultimo Dugas 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Yeah, the interview seemed pretty rushed. The only really funny thing was Jericho talking about at a theme park some kid kept telling him that the Rock was gonna beat him (obviously a while ago) and Jericho got pissed and ratted him out to his parents. When that show started he made the Owen Hart joke after his death. What did he say about Owen Hart? He made some comment about Owen Hart dying while wrestling as the character the Blue Blazer. He followed it up by saying that his tag team partner, the White Turtleneck was unharmed. Considering that Owen DIED, that was pretty tasteless.

Guest BifEverchad Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Jericho came off pretty good actually. He talked how his Grandmother watched wrestling, and thats how he got into it. Kilborn didnt seem as ignorant towards wrestling as I thought as the two discussed watching wrestling when they were younger, Kilborn mentioned Verne Gagne's AWA based out of Minnesota. Jericho then told a funny story about a time he took a trip to a water park with his little cousin. The whole time there he was verbally assaulted by a little ten year old who told him that The Rock was gonna kick his ass. Jericho replied with some taunts of his own, including telling the kid he was a 'fat little bastard'. Kilborn then hyped Fozzy and played a track sample from the album and then mentioned Wrestlemania. Jericho had one request before he finished up, and that was to do the infamous Craig Kilborn 5 Questions the next time he appeared. Kilborn agreed and that was that. Reminder to those who care: Hogan will be on LIVE with Regis and Kelly tomorrow morning too. I'll have to get a tape ready before I go to work.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Damn, Craig will love him--Vince is as much of a pompous jackass as he is. Throw Hogan and HHH in there and the combined ego will collapse the universe. I'm sure everyone that doesn't watch wrestling will laugh their ass off at the impending Senior Citizen Match at Mania. Then Vince will tell Craig they "make movies" and his usual "sports entertainment" bullshit. Fuck Vince and fuck Kilborn.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 19, 2003 The crowd reacted like all crowds react to off color jokes. Some laughed some went "Oooh" then chuckled.

I remember seeing that and I have personally refused to watch Kilborn since. I know it's not a big deal to lose one person, but Owen was one of my favorites, I couldn't believe it at the time and then to mock a death, I haven't watched him since the rest of the 4 years he's been on the air, even when he was going to have guests like Tazz (I remember seeing Tazz was supposed to be on the show, not sure when and why, I am thinking it was something to do with Tough Enough 1). Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Vince was on Conan once. I remember that. Conan made a pretty good point by showing all the fucking retarded Stone Cold merchandise. Anyone remember the Stone Cold throw rug? "And this is YOUR merchandise" (Holds up Vince Figure) "GRR! I'm the Vince McMahon action figure! Dont' make me mad, I might announce something BAD about you!" Vince: "Well, that's actually more truth to life than I'd like to admit."
Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted March 19, 2003 IIRC, Stillborn Kilborn also played the Tom Petty song Freefalling the day after Owen died.
