Guest NoCalMike Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Are CBS/ABC/NBC (including all of your local affiliates) locked onto coverage right now, or is it only the cable news networks? I am just asking so I know what to be prepared for when I get home in approx 90 mins.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 They were around for a while, but they're back to American Idol and Survivor and stuff. There's not a lot to talk about yet though. Just listen to AM radio on the way home and you'll be caught up.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Am I the only one that sees this 24/7 coverage of the war by every network and news channel a bit overkill. Nothing is really happening, and someone on one network said that there could be people here in the US could get put over the edge by watching nothing but this war coverage.
Guest Crux Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 I predict Ill be seeing Peter Jennings face for 2 months straight...
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 I'll tell you what ticked me off even more. I listen to FOX Sports Radio at night when I go to bed. Last night they went into War in Iraq news coverage. Let me say that of all the people I want to hear coverage about the war from, sports talk radio hosts are not anywhere near the top of the list.
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Well, even now, most of the local FOX, ABC, NBC affiliates are locked onto the War on Iraq coverage. By primetime, I hope, they will stop showing it...
Guest Retro Rob Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Well, even now, most of the local FOX, ABC, NBC affiliates are locked onto the War on Iraq coverage. By primetime, I hope, they will stop showing it... Especially considering FOX and UPN are airing the exact same program.
The Dames Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Like I said....I'm all for war as long as it doesn't interrupt my regularly scheduled programming. Dames
Guest MaxPower27 Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 I'm with Dames. As wrong and bad as it sounds, if I miss 24 this week, I'm gonna be PO'ed.
Guest Retro Rob Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Like I said....I'm all for war as long as it doesn't interrupt my regularly scheduled programming. Dames Amen to that. I don't get why NY is one of the only places with 24 hour news on EVERY channel still. It's been 21 straight hours. Shoot me now.

Guest MrRant Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 What can I say? If someone wants to be shot and I got a gun handy I try to be a good friend and help a brother out.
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Well, it has interrupted my programming............SMACKDOWN......argh.........
Guest NoCalMike Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 It must suck for people that don't have cable, since almost all the NCAA tourny games have been routed to ESPN.
Guest Kingpk Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Well almost every major network has a 24 hour cable news channel, so they should just keep all the coverage there save for a cut-in if something major happens. They are pretty much repeating the same stuff and unconfirmed reports, anyhow.

Guest Miss Indy Queen Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 It must suck for people that don't have cable, since almost all the NCAA tourny games have been routed to ESPN. Actually in NY, they were showing the game tonight on CBS which I found odd because the rest of the stations still had news coverage. I did notice that WB had their regular shows on though.
Guest Choken One Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 All my local stations save for ABC went with normal TV last night...
