Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted March 21, 2003 I think this has been asked before but did they do any editing for the crowd response in the Steiner/HHH match? I picked up the DVD. I think the Rumble itself, Benoit/Angle, and a comically-bad match like Steiner/HHH should be worth the little bit I paid.
Guest edotherocket Report post Posted March 21, 2003 I loved it too. It makes Benoit/Angle that much sweeter when you watch Steiner/HHH first. My favorite spot is when Steiner is supposed to slingshot Triple H in to the turnbuckle but he is doubled over in exhaustion. Funny stuff.

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2003 They're getting really edit happy lately on the commercial releases so I wouldn't be surprised to see the funnier parts of the match (Steiner falling on his ass after delivering a move, the negative crowd response) removed from history. I know the Unforgiven 2002 DVD edited out Bubba accidentally dropping Lance Storm, despite the fact that it was passable as an intnetional move AND the announcers referenced it. - Steve G. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted March 21, 2003 Well, I have the DVD, and I'm going to watch it (at least Steiner-HHH) today! What spots should I all look for? I know about these: Steiner blowing up on an Irish Whip and bending over tired. Steiner going for a Tiger Driver and falling on his ass. Any others of note? Guest bob_barron Report post Posted March 21, 2003 You actually bought it from Shopzone? I had Barron sneak one into the country for me. Dames Yo Dames- let's keep that on the down low. I don't want Canadian customs busting my ass! On X-7 they edited out Paul Heyman saying the event took place in 2000. Aside from them editing out part of the 8-man- I haven't noticed any other matches being edited.

AN F'D up tombstone reversal spot that started because Steiner was too tired, and didn't know what to do with HHH. HHH did save it from being a complete disaster though. Well, having watched the entire debacle that was HHH-Steiner I--it seems that they haven't edited anything out. There were no noticeable jump cuts. The Tombstone reversal spot is in. It's hardly Credible/Lynn...or even Taker/Kane. The Tiger Ass Bomb is in. The blowing up on the Irish Whip is in I think, although it looked like Steiner selling a move. Steiner still does a ton of Belly to Belly suplexes, so if they edited any out then it wasn't much. I also noticed a shitty neckbreaker by HHH that looked to be all Steiner's fault after the Tombstone reversal. The crowd cheering HHH for nailing Steiner in the balls = priceless. After Steiner does the triumphant babyface beat down, the crowd is booing loudly and thumbs are jutted down like a theater full of Roger Eberts after an Adam Sandler movie. When he climbs the top rope for a celebration pose--nothing. So I think little, if anything, was edited from this match. Thank you, WWE, for not depriving this classic of what little entertainment value it had. The crowd loved Flair, though.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 22, 2003 That's it? Kinda of a Disapointment... I wonder what Xtras WWE gives Mania... Speaking of which...Why haven't they gone for the WM DVD set? It'll sell MILLIONS! Same for a Summer Slam and Rumble Box Set...
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Hearing these HHH postmatch interviews after the crowds shit on the Steiner matches might be worthwhile?
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted March 22, 2003 That's it? Kinda of a Disapointment... I wonder what Xtras WWE gives Mania... Speaking of which...Why haven't they gone for the WM DVD set? It'll sell MILLIONS! Same for a Summer Slam and Rumble Box Set... Dunno--I think they had a full WM VHS collection for sale. However, if they did go DVD the earlier ones would be pretty bare bones and the quality still wouldn't be very good. Although it would sell rather well, I think as long as they didn't charge a fortune for it. Probably in a couple years so they could release a collection of an even 20 WMs.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Ugh--the Rumble DVD has a Confidential commercial when you start up, and THEN an un-skippable, un-FFWDable "Please Don't Try This At Home" warning.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Post match interview with HHH: Coach calls it a "brutal" match. HHH says he's the World Champion and that's all that's important. "There won't be any rematch," (oh how we wish) he says Steiner is an animal. "I'm still the World Champion just like I said I would be, and that's all that matters...that's all that matters." Kinda standard stuff. Cena has a rap--"Y2JC?!" Also has Dudleyz, Heyman, Bischoff, Team Angle (that is, Haas, Benjamin, and Kurt), and Brock.
Guest Jericholic82 Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Damn I didn't realize they edited Unforgiven. I was there live so of course I bought the dvd. I don't even remember that spot. Only thing that bugs me is they eidted ricflair's theme to be his old wwf theme (from 91/92) and also Edge's theme to his "you think you know me one" kinda annoying since they noticeably turn down the crowd noise. damn even thq wasn't that cheap and got the rights to rob zombie for sd:sym. oh well.
