Mrnoitaull 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2003 I've just gotten finished watching Feardotcom and I fell totally unsatisfied. I mean to me I felt as though, they were trying to meet a deadline with making this movie. Granted , the screenshots were excellent , but the climax scenes were so dull and the plot was scattered. But that isnt the worst. With the little girl ghost, limited time to save find girl before dying , the freaky mental flash segments and mission to find mysterious pictures, It was blatantly obvious that one movie yammed off another. Seems like two directors ran across the same book, and disputed over who would carry it out better. If you ask me, The Ring left Feardotcom in the shallow end of the fame pool. If you've seen both, give me your encite. If you havent seen Feardotcom...GOOD!!!!stay away from it . I think that movie pretty much dropped Steven Dorff's oppurtunities. Mrnoitaull 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Man, I just got finished watching "Feardotcom" and I feel so ripped off. I mean it seems as though they were tryin to meet a deadline with finishing the movie. Granted the screen shots were excellent, but the climax scenes were so bland and the plot was sacttered. But that's not the worst. With the creepy flashing mental scenes, days counting down to death, scavenger hunt for pictures and the little creepy girl ghost it was obious that two directors ran across the same plot and disputed over who would pull it off better. I honestly believe that The Ring squashed Feardotcom but thats just me. matter of fact, that movie may have degraded Dorff's chances in anything else. Any way gimme your incite........ Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Feardotcom takes a lot of its premise from Ringu, as far as I know. Most critics agree that they're really similar, but Ebert in particular loved the visual flair of the end. I've not seen it, but I've heard people go on about some really cool techniques they use in that final act, so I'd like to catch it some time.

Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted March 24, 2003 I think I'm the only person who kinda liked Fear Dot Com. Btw, from his reviews, Ebert seemed to like Fear Dot Com more than The Ring.
