The Red Sox didn't pick up a high valued free agent, but their low level moves speak volumes..... 1. Replaced Shea Hillenbrand with Bill Mueller. Hillenbrand sucks. Mueller boasts a .370 OBP, a big improvement over Hillenbrand's .313 career mark. And Mueller's a better fielder too. 2. Replaced Rey Sanchez with Todd Walker. Rey's fielding is nice, but he can't hit. 3. Replaced Jose Offerman/Tony Clark with Jeremy Giambi. Clark and Offerman were pathetic last year, and one of these days, Jeremy might resemble Jason at the plate. 4. Replaced Carlos Baerga with a David Ortiz/Kevin Millar platoon. Not to mention they already have superstars in Johnny Damon, Manny Ramirez, Nomar Garciaparra, Derek Lowe, and Pedro Marinez. AL Central: Minnesota. AL West: Oakland. Another 100 win team will place them among baseball's great teams. AL Wild Card: New York. NL East: Philadelphia. NL Central: St. Louis Somehow, I think the pitching will hold up. NL West: San Francisco. Several good pitching prospects to watch. NL Wild Card: Houston. Honorable Mention (teams that will surprise): Toronto Texas Cincinnati AL MVP: Alex Rodriguez. One of these days, the best, most deserving player will win the award. NL MVP: Barry Bonds. I might be wrong, but I'm not going to bet that way. AL Cy Young: Pedro Martinez. NL Cy Young: Randy Johnson. AL RotY: Hideki Matsui. Teixeira might have a shot, but he'll probably spend too much time in AAA. NL RotY: Marlon Byrd.

Although Rochester is likely different than Edmonton so it might change. I hope Mauer is the real deal. He's a local kid, by all accounts down to earth. It would also shut myself and others up you are mad the Twins didn't draft Mark Prior.

Chicago could make it interesting, but probably not. AL West: Oakland. This could be the last go-around for them, when they lose Tejada. Wild card: Seattle. Hard to pick against the champs, but I think Seattle makes up for last year. NL East: Braves. Pains me to say it, but I think the burden of expectations will weigh too heavily on the Phillies this year. Being the favourites in a city like Philadelphia is TOUGH...just ask the Eagles and Flyers. NL Central: St. Louis. Virtually the same team as last year should be enough. NL West: San Francisco. Should be the class of the league, even without Kent. Wild card: Houston. Narrowly beating out Philadelphia and Arizona. Continually beating up on the Cubs, Pirates and Brewers will help immensely. World Series: San Francisco over Oakland.
