Guest notJames Report post Posted March 25, 2003 Oh well, at least I can leave the Mania party early so I can get up for work the next day. (sigh)
Gert T 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2003 I think the WWE is banking on Hulk-A-Stalga running wild again, and the crowd will be worn out if that match does not go last, therefore taking away from the others. It is reasonable thinking if not totally delusional! Problem is they are trying to re-create last year without a good/real wrestler to face Hogan. "It's not gonna be a match, it'll be a fight." TRANSLATION: 50 year old vs. Non-wrestler "20 Years in the Making" TRANSLATION: Yes, Hulk's opponent is 20 years older than his WMX8 Opponent I think this match is only going to go as far as the Safeco Field crowd wants it too, if they're really hot it may be at least watchable. DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2003 Hogan/Vince or Lesnar/Angle being last would cause Cole and Tazz to call the main event, and if WM15 taught me anything, that won't happen. I'm expecting Austin/Rock to be last.
Guest Si82 Report post Posted March 26, 2003 From what I have heard from smarks and marks alike, NO ONE FUCKING CARES about Vince/Hogan saga. No one even buys into the "20 years in the making" either because until 6 months ago, this hostility was never around. Dammit this match better not be last. I know one person that cares. In fact she wants to borrow the tape of the event from my cause she wants to she that one match. Not only that but she is a Triple H fan too. Poor misguided girl... As for the main event, this match shouldn't be the main event at all. Maybe the match before the main event but Angle/Lesnar. Granted they have been a bit slack in building it up as of late but they both deserve the chance to main event the biggest show of the year. I was worried that the may try to put Rock vs. Stone Cold as the main event cause of the hostory there.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 26, 2003 As a Hogan mark, I'm looking forward to seeing the outcome of the match regardless of it's place on the card. I think it's been fairly well built up considering the time they have given to it, and like it or not, the crowd has been into it for the most part. I epect a hot crowd (put this after something that pleases the crowd), something "fairly" big to happen, and for the fans to go home happy if this is the last match. It depends on the number of Hogan marks in the crowd, and you also have to remember that having Hogan at Wrestlemania, you never know when the "magic" of markdom will overcome the fans. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 26, 2003 As a Hogan Mark and Vince-hater I still don't like this match.

Guest GameCop Report post Posted March 26, 2003 There's another reason to believe why Hogan vs. McMahon will be the main event. This morning, on Howard Stern, there was a WrestleMania ad. Guess which match was promoted? Rock vs. Austin? Nope, not even a mere mention. Booker T vs. HHH? Hell no. That's right -- the only match mentioned was Hogan vs. McMahon. Vince is out of his mind. Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted March 27, 2003 This WM is looking sadder by the day. The buildup for the top two matches they are pushing (Vince/Hogan and Rock/Austin) have been severely botched. Seriously, I have no desire to watch Hogan and Vince and this is the worse buildup for a Rock/Austin match ever. Even their IYH-DX match was built up better. Two matches on the card that have more intrigue to me are HHH/Booker (only because there is a chance some new blood can be put on top here) and Lesnar/Angle. Those two matches are now a backseat for 2 50-year olds fighting and 2 old, stale acts who popped a rating for 2 weeks and have had their feud built around fucking comedy. This year's WM really is a culmination of the last year=a culmination of a bunch of bullshit for 50,000 fans and millions watching at home to see.
