Cable news channel ratings are up 400+%. The ratings for the NCAA are down 25% this year. More important shit going on for more people.

But once the fans realized that it was the same announcers saying the same things with the same storylines going on with the same wrestlers - they turned it off. Stupid Vince.

Guest FeArHaVoC Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Many in WWE are extremely concerned about the ongoing ratings drops for both RAW and Smackdown, even more so considering that WrestleMania is this Sunday. Most in WWE viewed this period as a definite ratings boost time due to the returns of Steve Austin and the Rock, as well as the Road to WrestleMania. Despite all of that though, ratings have continued to decline. Vince McMahon has only grown more concerned in recent weeks. He took over just about complete control of WWE's creative direction a few months ago assuming that he would be able to turn things around, but obviously he hasn't. At this point, WWE's top management is confused as to how to turn the ratings around. Credit: 1wrestling.com I think this is a load of shite! Even when they would get 2.+ ratings in the early/mid 90's they would still get, or at least close to, a million buys for WM.

There is not a quick fix when the viewers don't exist. If there is another wrestling boom it's not going to happen soon.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 I don't think the WWE is down to its core audience yet. We are at about 50% capacity, whereas 99/00 was at 100% and Core audience is maybe 30%. But still, they SHOULD pander to us.
