Guest GameCop Report post Posted March 27, 2003 Umm... okay, many of you on this board have been saying that the RAW tag title match will be on heat instead of Mania. Where did you hear this? On Raw, the announcers explicitly said that the winners between RVD/Kane vs. Dudleys will wrestle Storm/Morley for the Tag Titles at WrestleMania. When did WWE's plans change? Guest ISportsFan Report post Posted March 27, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Apparently they stated this during the Smackdown taping while running through the matches for WrestleMania, or that's the impression those in attendance were left with while they ran down the matches. Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted March 27, 2003 RVD, screwed out of a mania payday or does heat count?
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted March 27, 2003 RVD, screwed out of a mania payday or does heat count? I wouldn't think HeAT would count.
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted March 27, 2003 I think it counts, because isn't that why X-Pac threw a hissy fit two years ago. I don't know if it is quite as high as the PPV payoff but it is probably in the ball park.
Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted March 27, 2003 RVD, screwed out of a mania payday or does heat count? I wouldn't think HeAT would count. Man, I feel really bad for RvD Kane Storm and Morely then.
Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted March 27, 2003 i feel bad for RVD, Storm and Kane, they deserve to be at WM, Morley hasn't really done anything to deserve a spot in there...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 27, 2003 Those RAW tag titles are dripping with prestige. They can't even make the ppv where every other title is defended.
Guest Annoyed Grunt Report post Posted March 27, 2003 I remember hearing that the people involved in the Heat match get the standard percentage of the gate, but not the PPV buys.
Guest snuffbox Report post Posted March 27, 2003 Wasnt WCW leaving their over workers (like RVD now) off major shows back in the day to make room for dennis rodman, jay leno, and lex luger?
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted March 27, 2003 Meltzer didn't mention this at all and he was at the Smackdown! taping
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted March 27, 2003 Man, that's 2 years in a row that Storm has been on Heat before WrestleMania. And last year's match didn't even make the DVD.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted March 27, 2003 Don't you think Meltzer would've mentioned it?
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted March 27, 2003 If you go to the Wrestlemania website, RVD/Kane vs Morley/Storm is one of the featured matches. That makes it official. While RVD will probrably curtain jerk for the second consecutive WM, he is still going to be on the show.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted March 27, 2003 I think they'll curtain jerk with Matt v. Rey personally. Best way to get the crowd on their feet
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 27, 2003 Yeah, I doubt this is true...Of course RVD is jerking the show and Morely will replace Regal's rightful spot there... I actully PERFER to have RVD jerk the show...
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted March 27, 2003 You're probrably right BB. You know Vince couldn't possibly have 2 cruisers put above a match containing a hoss.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 27, 2003 I think they'll curtain jerk with Matt v. Rey personally. Best way to get the crowd on their feet I don't think so...RVD and Kane are always over and if they have a good fourmula match, The crowd should be alive... However, Matt and Rey stand to be a clash of styles and it could be awkward... So you can't go wrong with RVD and Kane in the Jerker... Besides use CW match to awaken the crowd after The Hoss Tag Match...
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted March 27, 2003 I don't think it's the hoss thing- Rey v. Matt is a perfect way to kick off the show. Taker/Jones v. Show/Train is a good match to put on after one of the big 5 matches.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 27, 2003 Yes It can be but I think we can each agree that both matches are suitable Jerks? However, I would not be shocked if they went with The 3 Way Tag Match first for some reason...
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted March 27, 2003 RVD's situation in WWE is so depressing from a fan's standpoint, that they mine as well just release him. Even though, he may be perfectly happy just collecting a pay check for doing next to nothing.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 27, 2003 As much as we think he hates this...I'm sure he rather be in a safe healthy job then fight out the indy scene where you don't have job security... Besides, Not like RVD has ambition to be #1...I think he just likes performing and making money...these days...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 27, 2003 yeah. RVD is the only RVD fan that doesn't care about a push. In the year and a half he's been there the only thing I've read he's had a coflict with was when he wasn't getting enough time for matches. I think all he cares about is going out and hearing his name chanted. There's nothing wrong with that...but it's so frustrating. I hope they jerk Mania also. It's far better than Heat. Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 27, 2003 Anyone think McMahon gave Rob a trade off? Vince: Rob, Do you smoke the Funny Cigerettes? ROB: (STONED): Um, Sure, Cool whatever dude Vince: Yeah, I got a idea Rob: (GLAZED) Vince: How about I let you keep your habit Rob: Habit? Vince: The Funny Stuff? Rob: You mean the weed? Vince: Yes, You can keep doing that as long as you don't mind Jerking the card for the next three years... Rob: Cool...Whatever dude...

I say 5 minutes and the boring chant breaks out.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted March 27, 2003 Well that's always a viable option. If they're putting Y2J over I would put that match on afterwards. The crowd could be blown away by then and maybe disheartened that Jericho went over so you put these guys out there for 10 min max and the crowd maybe when Taker goes 11-
