Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 The WWE is now refering the Tag Titles held by Team Angle as the "WWE Tag Team Titles" and the Tag Titles held by Morley/Storm as the "World Tag Team Titles"..BUT..that is backwards, since the Tag Titles that Morley/Storm hold have the WWF-WWE title lineage and the belts that Team Angle hold were created and awarded in a tourney last year. Per example..HHH is the "World's Heavyweight Champion" and Kurt Angle is the "WWE Champion", as the belt that Kurt Holds has all of the previous heavyweight title lineage, and the belt HHH has was just given to him. Probably nothing big or anything, but I figure some of you who are up on history and lineage of titles might be interested..or not.. BTW, as a record the titles are referenced as such on Wrestlemania.com and the Wrestlemania Match rundowns on Smackdown. I hadn't noticed this prior, so I could be missing something that everyone else noticed weeks ago...

RAW got the Two World titles World Heavyweight Championship World tag team Champions and lesser degree the Womens Championship and Smackdown got... WWE Heavyweight Championship WWE Tag team Championships WWE Cruiserweight Championship So at least it fits and in reality, they did change the Raw Tag titles to a New version, whereas the Smackdown Tag belts are the same design the WWE was using since the 80's with the difference being the Blue lettering.

I could have sworn they were refered to as the "Smackdown Tag Titles.." like I said, its not that big of a deal, just something I noticed and found odd..and probably missed the boat on weeks back..

Guest Crucifixio Jones Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 It's also odd that the tag titles on RAW look, in appearance, the same as the WWE Title on SD! but they're not on that show. The WWE Tag Titles on SD! look like the old WWF Tag Title design and would make more sense being on RAW, if you ask me.

Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 I just wish they would have kept the old tag titles...those were the only belts that the WWF/E left unchanged for a bout 20 years, and I liked the look. They haven't pushed anyone with the tag titles right in a long time.

Raw will never be changed to Nitro. Nitro is a dead name, and Vince would never do something stupid like that.
