Bored Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 I have a question that doesn't have anything to do with Albert. Who originally came up with Goldberg's "streak" and why? I don't know who came up with the idea of Goldberg actually going on a "streak" but I seem to remember that it was Mike Tenay who was the one who inflated the number of wins Goldberg had.

Yeah, Tenay grossly inflated his numbers. Goldberg went from 11-0 to like 57-0 in the span of two weeks.
Guest Coffey Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 I believe that the push was supposed to go to Glacier, but they pulled the plug on that when they realized that he sucked. So, Goldberg got it instead.
Guest Galactic Gigolo Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 I was a fan of Goldberg's up until the point where he was squashing Flock members every week. I was a big fan of them. I actually dug a few Goldberg matches. Him vs. Raven, vs. Reese, and a couple others had a nice feel to them.
Guest El Satanico Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 The Raven/Goldberg title match would've been alot better if Raven won.
Guest Brian Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 Why didn't they realize Goldberg sucked?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 Because he's big, was making them money, and only the smarks really hated him?
Guest Angle-plex Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 Because he's big, was making them money, and only the smarks really hated him? Indeed. Sadly, you don't have to be a great wrestler to be a draw and make loads of money. I just hope Goldberg has his kick-ass WCW theme.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 It's never been that way, has it? Hogan never was good, and Austin was formula (and Superman) a lot of times. *shrugs* Rocky's not what I'd call a technical wonder either..
Guest Angle-plex Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Nah it's never been that way. HBK and Flair would good workers, but they got over because of their charisma. They just happend to be great wrestlers as well. I dunno. I don't see how I'm supposed to hate Goldberg just because he's getting a lot of money.
Guest The Superstar Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 One of my favorite Goldberg matches was when he fought Sting for the title. I wasn't "smart" at that time, and I was so into the match I seriously thought Sting would win the Title with the Deathlock, but DAMN THAT HOGAN for running in and costing him the match
Guest fazzle Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 I seriously thought Sting would win the Title with the Deathlock, but DAMN THAT HOGAN for running in and costing him the match Especially AFTER the camera had shown Goldberg tapping, in full view of the ref

Guest Brian Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 But HBK was total formula like Hart when he was in the mains.
