Guest JHawk Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 Yeah, it's blatantly stolen from the Miss Smartmarks Idea and the NCAA tournament, but I'm surprised no one else has thought about it. It's time for the selection process in what I'll call "the first ever TSM Mat Madness tournament". The rules: You may select any 10 wrestlers for considerations (repeat selections are encouraged). They must have had at least one match between WrestleManias X8 and XIX. No deceased wrestlers please (sorry Curt Hennig marks). The top 65 will be selected and seeded based on frequency of being selected. Ties will be determined by me. The 64 vs. 65 match will be announced on Thursday, April 3. The number one seeds will also be announced at this time. Voting for this round will conclude on Sunday, April 6. The full brackets will be announced on April 6, with voting for this and all remaining rounds lasting one full week, meaning the finals would be in mid-May. No special requirements for the selection process. Base it on workrate, mic skills, crowd reaction, ability to piss people off, whatever you want. I'll be taking your suggestions for the top 65 until late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. EDIT: The following champions (as of the end of WrestleMania XIX) receive automatic bids (but you still need to vote for them to raise their seed): WWE SmackDown (currently Kurt Angle but likely to be Brock Lesnar) WWE Raw (Triple H or Booker T) Ring of Honor (Samoa Joe) NWA World (Jeff Jarrett) FWA (Doug Williams) IWGP (Yuji Nagata) Triple Crown (Shin'ya Hashimoto) CMLL World Heavyweight (Universo 2000) NOAH GHC (Mitsuharu Misawa) OVW Heavyweight (Nick Dinsmore)

Guest JHawk Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Kenta Kobashi is GHC Champ, not Misawa. Then Kobashi gets the automatic bid, but Great Hisa's title history site had Misawa listed, so that's what I went by.
