Piper back for a while? Or one time gig?

The thing that bugs me the most about Piper is that he's just like Goldberg, Honky Tonk Man, Zenk, etc,. They ALWAYS bash Vince and WWE, but once Vince threws up a few "C Notes" they come running like toothless whores.

It makes me Respect Bret Hart that much more.

Agreed. One of the only guys left that most everyone would want back, and he's the one with dignity enough not to take the payoff. Meanwhile we get jerkoffs like Piper and Goldberg coming out of the woodwork with $$$ in their eyes, after months and months of backhanded comments, and nobody wants them back in any meaningful capacity.

What a world.

I wouldn't mind if bret came back. I feel it is extremely selfish on your part to say Bret shouldn't come back. There were hard feelings but Bret and Vince tried to put that behind them. Bret deserves closure on his career. You just don't want Bret to come back so you can keep this image of him as an anti-vince hero in your mind. After everything bret has done he deserves to hear that crowd pop one more time even if it ruins your stupid image of him.

Hold up there, Junior. We're saying we respect Bret Hart for sticking to his guns and not "selling himself out" like all these other idiots. Bret has pride and dignity, unlike all these other clowns who jump at the $$$ signs.

It has nothing to do with wanting him to be bitter and be "anti-Vince" like you seem to think.

Don't jump to conclusions, Genius.

If they make Piper a Mid-card heel...THEN I AM ALL FOR IT! Why Not? Do YOU want A-Train instead?

As a matter of fact, yes.

At least A-Train isn't a 50-year old guy w/ 2 hip replacements who can't wrestle anymore.

I'm hoping it was just a 1-shot deal.

Did you see Piper's gut? He's not coming back to wrestle anytime soon. If anything. I wouldn't mind if they brought back the Piper's Pit segments. At this point, that's the only capacity I want to see piper in.

Piper can't come back, because you can't let him speak, cause his mouth is 3 days ahead of his brain.

The point about Bret is, well, pointless. He's said more than once that he would have came back by now, or will come back, had it not been for his stroke. Hell, he's been in talks with them on more than one occasion an where he almost came back regardless. He stated in an interview that if his body was up to it, as he didn't want to dissapoint his fans, he would return.

Money can buy anyone in this industry. It worked for so many people that we never thought it would work for before, and it would work for Bret. Hell, for these guys just about all they know is that ring. You can't bash them for giving in once the dollar amount reaches a certain point.

Then why didn't Bret come back for X-8? He turned them down then

The fuck if I know. If I were you I'd write Bret himself and ask him. All I know is what he has said in the past year or so. It isn't like the guy is this big high and mighty idol whom is above everyone else. Money is money, money takes care of family and ensures his way of life, he's human.

I don't even think it's just a money thing though, I think he'd come in for a lesser amount than what we all think it would take. The man obviously, if he ever hear him, has a desire to return just once more. He's said it's true, so I'm inclined to believe him. Add to this the money, his desire, and WWE's desire for him to come back just once for some reason or another, and the outcome is his return.

Well if he turned down a big $ appearance to be at the biggest show of the year in front of his home country then I think it's safe to say he really doesn't want to come back

It would take a leap of faith for Bret to come back to the land of Vinc-anity knowing the state of the creative team and the politics involved. He would probably come back if it was just a one-shot deal saying goodbye to his fans with all the respect and dignity accorded to him.

And that is why I don't think he'll ever come back. The Powers That Be don't have clue One about stuff like that. Better for Bret (and all us fans) to hold onto what was instead of pining for what may never be.

People do change their minds you know, and as we have all seen with Bret, he can be a hard one to figure out at times. As I said, all I know is that whe he himself has said he wanted and did not want. He said he wished to return just once more, as he has put everything behind him. I think he's in a far greater posistion to say what he does or does not want to do in regards to a return.

There was a heavy mark out response in the sportsbar where I was watching Mania. One of the four biggest pops of the match along with the finish of the match, Vince's ladder spot, and Hugo taking a chairshot and digging to become the greatest Spanish announcer ever.

Our table couldn't help but note the significant gut that Piper has grown when the cameras showed him from the side and the turn on Hogan that was apparent from a mile away. Based on what condition he is in now, I hoping it was just a one-shot run-in.

Bret has said he would only return if it was a one time deal and he could say his goodbyes. He won't return to be part of an angle or storyline.

Yep...can you dig Hogan versus Piper at Backlash? Piper hates Hogan...Hogan hates Piper...19 years in the making blah blah blah, conveniently forgetting that they had a match in WCW not so long ago, and it sucked. Damn, if Piper's back as a wrestler he needs to get more into shape.

And what was the point of his run in? A 'shocking heel turn on Hogan?' Why was everyone so shocked he hit Hogan? He'd already spat on the guy!

Bret's had tons of opportunities to return. If he called Vince tomorrow and said I wanna come back- he'd be back in a second. But he hasn't. All Bret wants is a Bret Hart DVD and pictures for his book.

I give the man credit- he's not a fucking hypocrite like Piper is

Bret can hear the Crowd Pop in any Association's Ring all over the world thats not exclusively a WWE trademark.

However you want Bret to return I doubt it could ever be in a wrestling Compacity. with the stroke in all, and I think a man with that amount of pride wouldnt want to come back with some half ass on air role only.

Just for the record, the following is from 1wrestling...

As far as I have been able to tell, Roddy Piper being at WrestleMania was a one shot deal.

...damnit. I see no reason for it to be this way, I wanted so much for him to be around at least just as a manager or the such.

Guest geniusMoment

No I don't want Bret to try to wrestle again. All I want for him is closure on his career if he wants it. Why would he be selling out his values if he came back? Vince and Bret buried the hatchet and Vince said he was sorry. He has every reason to make one final appearance.

I think that the piper thing was a one time deal. But, I think that if they were smart they could use Piper to possible be a heel mouthpiece for someone in the Federation. I don't wanna see Hot Rod in the ring anymore but I definately think that he can still cut a promo better than everyone (except Flair) in the business today. So he could be used positively in that aspect.
