Guest Kid Kablam Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Here's what Meltzer wrote on WrestlingClassics: This is going to surprise a few people but here goes. I received the same thing, and like Bob Magee said, the person writing it said he was sending to me because he didn't like Scherer and Ryder (who he sent it to, and I'm figuring he wrote them saying he didn't like me--typical wrestling con). The idea of printing something anonymous like that is mind boggling. I've gotten tons of stuff from guys in that company and they say who they are but know I won't print their names because that's the business. This came anonymously and I did later find out it was from a wrestler that I know a little (and really didn't like Scherer at least in the past) and... It is legit. If it is indeed legit, I'm leaning towards Al Snow. Now that you mention it.... I could see Al. Although he has put up with quite a load of shit in the past, so why would he start now? I don't think it's Al because "Willy" claims to have sold alot of merchandise at Wrestlemania. I don't remember a big run on mannequin heads, Tough Enough t-shirts, or any Al Snow merchandise period lately. But, I could be wrong...
Guest Brian Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Make a list of all the guys formerly in ECW (scherer connection) and sell a good deal of merch that didn't make the Mania card.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted April 4, 2003 -RVD -Dudleyz Those guys would be the most obvious ones I guess.
Guest edge007 Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Today is April 1st... Hello? That's what I thought too. If we were to take it legit, why would any wrestler write that, at the risk of losing their job? Hmmm. if I had to pick a wrestler, it would be Hurricane. He's over. He has quite a bit of merchandise. But doesn't get pushed enough. It couldnt be Christian, he has no merchandise whatsoever. Kane perhaps...?It's either Kane or Hurricane, I think, if it was legit. But again. i very HEAVILY DOUBT that it is. (date and all)
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted April 4, 2003 This is bullshit and the idiots at 1Wrestling need to think of something better to do with their time. I don't trust Meltzer either as stuff he's said has been wrong too. B-X from this board had an interview posing as JR and Meltz believed it was legit, he obviously isn't hard to fool. Fuck the loser who has enough time on his hands to do this shit . It's a huge disrespect to pose a fellow wrestler and talk shit about someone like Matt Bloom. I say 1wrestling should find another stupid gimmick to get people to wanna read their site.

Guest converge241 Report post Posted April 4, 2003 as also pointed on wrestling classics: willie the worker=wil o the wisp= jeff hardy i dont think RVD cares nor would Al Snow (at least in this point of al 's career) the more i think about it makes me think it may not be Jeff Hardy i totally forgot that he "lost his passion" or whatever and works the part time schedule (i mean he could have lost his interest because of all this but..) maybe its Christian
Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted April 4, 2003 It can't be RVD, him and Scherer have been feuding since 2000, i think is none other than the Black Scorpion.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted April 4, 2003 I feel bad for the wrestlers if some joker from the internet wrote this up (most likely what happened), and Vince thought it was actually a wrestler.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 4, 2003 I could see Vince tapping into RVD and Storm's CPU...
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted April 4, 2003 *Storm is under a bright light with Vince questioning him* VINCE: So, I hear you were on the computer after Raw. Can you confirm this? LANCE: Uh, yeah. I was just writing my commentary for the site. I do it every week. You usually see me do it. Why are you asking me-- VINCE: I ask the questions around here! NO MORE INTERNET FOR YOU! Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Could always be Goldust. He's got a decent amount of merch, is quite over (even with the ridiculous gimmick). What if it's Test venting out his frustration?
Guest Repo Man jr Report post Posted April 4, 2003 I don't think its Storm, that would be too obvious. He's always using the net and the links page on his web site has "1wrestling.com: A great source for news and polls". From my experience of watching the Trilogy of Scream movies, it's never the most obvious.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted April 4, 2003 willie the worker=wil o the wisp= jeff hardy The pieces do fall into place. Jeff's sorta been on a downturn and did have a t shirt at the WM Merch Cart while not being a part of the big event... HOWEVER... Why should he be complaining when he's admitted to not even be overly interested in wrestling any more? Hell, he gets every other weekend off to spend time with his chick and his emotry. I dunno, if I wasn't interested in really doing wrestling, I wouldn't be complaining about a lack of push.
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted April 4, 2003 It's not Jeff, the guy hasn't been involved in anything major for a long, long time and doesn't sell merch. It's not RVD, he was on Heat and hasn't been with the company as long as "Willie" claims. Though he does sell merch, I still can't see RVD doing it. Storm is a fucking pussy and doesn't have his own merchandise. However, Storm may have a connection in this after all. To me it's narrowed down to two guys, Hurricane and Christian. Both have their reasons. Hurricane: Brought over from Smackdown (aka Kiss of Death) and teams with Kane to win titles. They job them after two weeks and Hurricane isn't used for a while until he turns up and gets dropped on his head by D'lo which in turn causes him to miss a few weeks. Comes back in a mini-feud with The Rock and gets over but WWE fails to capitalize on his momentum. Helms is also very computer-literate, the guy runs his own site and sells merchandise quite well given his position in the company. Christian: One thing that tweaked me into thinking it was him was the mentioning of Albert and calling him Matt, Christian having been in Alberts class at the WWE dojo. Another thing is Christians relationship with Storm, who is very computer-literate as well and probably has a connection with Scherer since he's ex-ECW. Finally, Christian has been on the verge of breaking through for a while and has been involved in some pretty big angles (Un-Americans, tagging with Jericho.) The discussed run-in that "Willie" speaks of could have occured with Christian running in on the Jericho/HBK match. The thing Christian has working against him is the merch thing, though he could easily by lying about it.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted April 4, 2003 i thouhgt Test but is he really selling THAT many testicle shirts Lance Storm fits with internet but no merchandise, and he was on WM/Heat and on Christian= true i didnt think of that no merchandise (unless they sold a lot of EDGE & Christian stuff) LOL = i like how theres almost no guesses (were there any?) on a Smackdown guy-- that says a lot about the perception of Raw
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2003 It doesn't necesarily mean the wrestler is a big merchandise seller... I read it that it could easily maen like "hey, I don't sell a lot of merchandise and I STILL sell more than this guy"
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 4, 2003 It doesn't necesarily mean the wrestler is a big merchandise seller... I read it that it could easily maen like "hey, I don't sell a lot of merchandise and I STILL sell more than this guy" This is how I read it as well...like he's saying, "dude, *I* probably sold more merchandise than freakin' Albert". Just kind of an idle boast. I didn't put a lot of stock in Willie necessarily selling a ton of T-shirts.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Damn...This is better then Ultimate Power or Who Ran Austin over! Hopefully this lasts for a few weeks... I am really thinking it's not Storm, Xstain, Jericho, RVD, Test, Hurricane...All the popular notions... I am starting to lean towards Al Snow now... When he said "I never thought i do this" it sounded like a guy whom really loves the business... He fits the pieces of the Puzzle...
Guest converge241 Report post Posted April 4, 2003 good point damn though, that makes the field less narrow by destroying that assumption of a mondo merchandise guy cause i think everyone sells more than Show or Jones or Atrain (thats not a knock on them i just havent seen people wearing their merch) ive seen more adult men in Mr ass shirts hell theres probably someone out there with a coachman shirt
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted April 4, 2003 I still can't believe the guy said "fart!" in his second article.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Big Show tends to sell alot of Shirts..Esp the Man/Legend shirt...I've still seen alot of people wear the Big Nasty Bastard shirt... TBS does sell a good dose of Shirts...
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted April 4, 2003 My key thing is: "I dare to say that they probably sold more merchandise of me at WrestleMania on Sunday than Albert has even drawn for the company in all the years he's been there." And like I said, there's only a few guys who sold merch at the show while not actually being there. Although I'm thinking primarily shirts. They had bobbleheads and stuff as well, but they were all either on the show or were just "Divas" Then again, it could just be a SWERVE~!
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Yeah, but you have to look at who he is comparing merchandise sales with. He could have gone out back after the show and sold one or two shirts himself and he would justify his claim of selling more marchandise than A-Train. Guest raptor Report post Posted April 4, 2003 It's not Jeff, the guy hasn't been involved in anything major for a long, long time and doesn't sell merch. Jeff sells an abnormal amount of merchandise, actually. He's usually in the top ten, and sells more than some bigger names. The reason he's still on RAW is because of that fact. Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Jeff has always been a merch fixture...You can almost ALWAYS see a skinny or Fat 14 year old clinging onto her "XTREAME" Shirt of Jeff...with the Ugly ass Glow in Dark...
