Losing Match Thread

::of course if Dace was less of a bitch about no selling his finishers I could have made a more dramatic ending *BIG CHEESY GRIN*::

::oh can I have the next card off guys?::

Axis: OK Wrestling fans, this is it, this is the big one. We’ve all been waiting for this ever since Lost at Sea II, it’s about respect, it’s about pride and it’s about the SJL World Championship.

Suicide King: I have to admit, I’m stoked Axis, This has the makings of a true classic.

Axis: As per the requests of Va’aiga this match will be hosted under Japanese rules, with DQs waived. That means if either combatant is thrown out of the ring they have a regular 20 count to get back in.

The arena drops to darkness, as Va'aiga's shadow appears in the entranceway, dressed in his hooded training top with the hood down. Pryo fires off as the first "SLAM!" of "Slam (The Remix)" by Onyx & Biohazard hits, and Gold strobe lights pierce the darkness of the entrance ramp as Va'aiga begins his slow walk to the ring, throwing a few phantom jabs on the way. The SmarkTron shows images of Va'aiga shadow boxing and posing, cut with some of his biggest in ring hits - Maori Dropping Thor, the chairshot on Spike Jenkins, Maori Dropping John Duran, staring off with Janus, Maori Dropping Spike Jenkins... Inside the ring Va'aiga rolls down his hood and raises his fists to the crowd, then takes off his top and throws it to a ring assistant.

Suicide King: Va’aiga looks like he means business tonight, Axis. I wouldn’t like to be Dace Night.

Axis: An impressive new entrance from Va’aiga. The Maori Badass is looking to turn up and kick ass again tonight.

“Winds of Creation” by Decapitated starts up. The crowd starts a massive chant of “DACE! DACE! DACE!” as red and purple lights fill the entranceway and the betrenchcoated figure of Dace Night walks out, absorbing the cheers of the crowds. The SmarkTron is filled with the ultraviolent images of Dace Night’s insane bloodletting and vicious head dropping as Dace strides confidently to the ring and hands the world title, slung over his shoulder, to referee Matthew Kivell. Dace tosses his trenchcoat aside and stares at Va’aiga across the ring.

Axis: Let’s go over to Funyon for the formalities.

Funyon: The following match is scheduled for one fall and has a one hour time limit, and is for the SJL World Heavyweight Championship.

Matthew Kivell holds the belt up for the crowd to view.

Funyon: Introducing first the challenger. He weighs in at 285lbs, and hails from Rotorua, New Zealand. He is the Maori Badass. He is VAAAAAAAA’AAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIGAAAAAAAAAAA!

As his name is called out Va’aiga drops the Maori hand sign for the crowd and is showered in black and gold streamers.

Funyon: And his opponent, he weighs in at 254lbs and hails from Birmingham, England. He is the High Priest of Horrorcore. He is DAAAAAAAAACE NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!

Dace throws the horns to the crowd as they shower him with Red and Purple streamers. Ring assistants hurry out to clear the streamers for the ring as the combatants flex and stretch for the final preparations for the match. Matthew Kivell checks both men for foreign objects as Va’aiga throws a few more phantom blows. The bell rings.

Axis: And here we go folks, this one should be a dandy.

Suicide King: I expect the best from both these guys; this is for the world title, people!

The pair walk casually out of their corners and meet in the middle of the ring. A silent glance is exchanged between the pair and Va’aiga offers a nod of respect as the pair touch fists and back off a couple of steps. Va’aiga steps in first launching a solid right body jab into the rib area of Dace. Dace Night exhales and backs off a half step before composing himself and firing off a quick elbow smash as he steps back in. Va’aiga composes himself and launches another body blow and Dace responds again with an elbow strike. Va’aiga fires off a quicker jab, then a second and third sending Dace into a near stagger. The big Maori follows this by grabbing quickly for Dace’s arm and whipping him forcefully into the ropes, then hitting Dace’s solar plexus with a Kitchen Sink knee lift, sending Dace spinning over his knee and landing back first on the canvas.

Axis: Va’aiga winning the first exchange here.

Suicide King: It’s still very tight though, Axis.

Va’aiga waits for Dace to stand up again and launches a head height right hook, but Dace gets a hand up to block the impact of the blow. Dace rolls with the impact to move to Va’aiga’s side and fire off a quick elbow strike into the massive Maori’s temple. Dace moves round the back of Va’aiga and softens the Maori Badass up temporarily with a pir of overhead elbows, resembling Paul Vaerlens in UFC VI (rather than Dusty Rhodes) with the power and intensity of the strikes. Dace grabs a back waistlock on Va’aiga and the crowd oohs anticipating a high angle German suplex, but Va’aiga back up quickly using his leverage and locks his right arm over the top rope, forcing Dace to break.

Axis: Va’aiga showing great ring presence there King, he didn’t want to get hit with that German.

Suicide King: And neither would I in that situation. It’s interesting that Va’aiga has the height and weight advantage, but Dace can match him ounce for ounce in the power steaks because he’s that little touch stronger.

Va’aiga spins to ensure he’s facing Dace as the pair back off towards the center of the ring again, and the Maori flinches a little as Dace lashes off a pair of chops into his chest, before shrugging his shoulders and shrugging off the impact of the blows at the same time, drawing breath and powering Dace over with a massive Maori Lariat.

Va’aiga: MY HOUSE!

Axis: Dace should know not to fire chops off at Va’aiga. The man has a chest of pure steel.

Suicide King: But look at him, Axis. I think those chops had an effect, and Va’aiga is merely toughing them out. It’s not often you see him as much as flinch to chops, but he did there.

Dace snaps back up to his feet and stares intensely at Va’aiga. Dace fires off a lightning fast trifecta of elbows, none of which Va’aiga has the natural speed to block. The big Maori is forced backwards and stumbles a little as he takes an unplanned backwards step and sensing an opening Dace Night rushes the ropes to build momentum, and as Va’aiga regains footing and composure, Dace flattens him to the canvas with a lariat of his own. Dace pauses to draw breath before dropping an elbow onto Va’aiga’s chest and hooking a leg. Matthew Kivell dives down onto his knees and counts...

ONE!

T… and at not even two Va’aiga forces Dace powerfully off and gets rapidly to one knee, then back to a vertical base.

Axis: It’s far too early to go for a pin fall.

Suicide King: I’d dispute that Axis, it’s always worth trying, one little mistake and you can pick up an easy win from situations like that.

Dace stands again and shoots for a bulky ta Moko adorned arm of Va’aiga, grabbing and wrenching the limb around into an arm wringer, tensing Va’aiga’s shoulder muscles and pulling on the tattooed arm of the massive Maori. Dace grunts an unintelligible grunt of exertion and attempts to short-arm Va’aiga back to a hold, but Va’aiga defiantly stomps to focus himself and resist Dace Night’s forceful pull. Va’aiga steps round to release the pressure of the hold leaving him and Dace Night face to face again and locks his arms around Dace’s stomach, looking for a belly to belly suplex variation, but Dace powers out of the hold and slips behind to a back waistlock again, and again Va’aiga digs in and levers himself and Dace back ropewards, forcing a break and preventing the German Suplex from being hit for a second time in the match.

Axis: Va’aiga really doesn’t want to get hit with that German Suplex.

Suicide King: He knows that suplexing a 285lb man comes as easily to Dace Night as tossing a pancake for breakfast.

The pair move for the center of the ring again and Dace looks to fire one of his ever effective elbow smashes, but this time Va’aiga is wise to the move and backs off to avoid the short ranged blow and then clinch, boxer style. Va’aiga muscles Dace back a couple of steps, Dace muscles Va’aiga back to the middle and the pair stay locked, neither managing to gain an upper hand, Va’aiga with the leverage of size, Dace with the power advantage. Finally Va’aiga steps in to the move and gets enough space to fire a quick series of knees into the waist of Dace. Dace stutter steps backwards out of the clinch, and Va’aiga goes for an arm, whipping Dace into the ropes and upon the High Priest of Horrorcore’s return Va’aiga slides an arm across his neck. Va’aiga looks to STO Dace down to the canvas back first, but Dace steps a leg across the judo throw to remain standing. Va’aiga goes for his high angle o-soto-gari again, and again Dace blocks. Seeing the move won’t work Va’aiga changes tack and strengthens his grip on Dace’s shoulder, falling backwards into a Reverse Maori Legsweep and sending Dace rib first to the unforgiving mat. Va’aiga rolls Dace over and covers.

ONE!

TW… and Dace breaks before the referee’s hand hits the mat a second time.

Axis: Va’aiga unable to get even a two count there off that move.

Suicide King: Well what do you expect? The High Priest of Horrorcore to go down to a simple sweep type move? Va’aiga is going to have to use more high impact moves than that.

Axis: I don’t doubt that he will, King

Va’aiga gets to his feet first and beckons Dace Night up, and Dace isn’t far behind in the quest to reach a standing position. Va’aiga grabs for an arm of Dace and wrenches it, but Dace steps through and reverses the hold, twisting Va’aiga’s arm again and stepping backwards to allow him the space to launch some high kicks into Va’aiga’s exposed shoulder blade. Va’aiga winces as each kick hits as Dace works the whole length of his arm with the hold and strikes. Va’aiga grits his teeth and drags Dace back onto him with a tug of the arm, sequencing through into a full nelson, but Dace hits a standing switch to a full nelson of his own. Dace goes to lift Va’aiga up for either a full nelson bomb or dragon suplex, but the intent of the move never becomes clear as Va’aiga steps through with a leg to block the suplexing action. Va’aiga hits a second standing switch and looks for a dragon suplex of his own, but Dace plants his feet firmly on the canvas and muscles Va’aiga back to the ropes, forcing a break to a ripple of cheers through the crowd.

Axis: Dace proving he has every inch the ring positioning of Va’aiga there.

Suicide King: The emphasis in this match is very clearly on not getting hit by any severe power moves.

Both the High Priest of Horrorcore and the Maori Badass circle round the ring looking for a positional advantage, with both combatants shadowing each other’s moves. Dace lifts his arms up looking to ounce, and Va’aiga does likewise, and the pair engage in a collar and elbow tie up. Va’aiga uses the height to exert downward pressure on Dace and force Dace to back off a little, giving Va’aiga space to transition to a side headlock. Va’aiga fires a handful of blows with his loose hand into Dace’s ribs, but Dace shoots Va’aiga off and into the ropes, and the pair both shape for shoulderblocks and clash in the middle of the ring. Neither budges an inch.

Axis: It’s like two charging rhinos across the rolling plains of the Serengeti! This is truly a clash of titans here.

Suicide King: I’m not sure either man would be used to a victim not dropping under the force of such blows.

The pair both go with the same idea again and charge the ropes, but this time Va’aiga goes a little lower on Dace, powering his shoulder into Dace Night’s ribs, and the Maori Badass takes the Brummie Psycho down to the canvas rugby style. Va’aiga goes for a shoot style mount position and takes time to kiss his heavily tattooed bicep before firing down a succession of hard elbow strikes into the sternum of the Horrorcore expert. Dace counters by locking a body scissors around Va’aiga, and as Va’aiga leans forward Dace locks his wrists behind Va’aiga’s head, turning the mount into a Guard. Va’aiga ends up reduced to a series of ineffective heel strikes into the side of Dace’s ribcage, andDace waits for an advantage, feeling his way into a cross arm breaker on Va’aiga! Va’aiga grunts in pain as Dace lock the hold in properly, attempting to hyper extend the arm of the Maori Badass.

Axis: Dace obviously concentrating on the shoulder of Va’aiga tonight. I think he’s looking for a win through his devastating and rarely seen Code Black submission.

Suicide King: It’s probably a better tactic than dropping Va’aiga on his head, as that big Maori has one hell of a hard cranium!

Va’aiga’s face is crossed with a marked look of pain as Dace mumbles an “Ask Him” to referee Matthew Kivell. Va’aiga responds with a defiant no, as he attempts to shake himself free from the hold by moving his body in a sort of peristaltic motion, working his arm freer with each shake of his massive Maori frame. With a huge amount of effort and Energy expended Va’aiga finally manages to work his way free from the hold, and as Dace recovers his strength on the canvas Va’aiga stands and shakes the feeling back into his arm with some overstated arm motions and a whole heap of gritted teeth and scowling face.

Axis: That move obviously did a lot of damage to the Maori, wrenching away at his shoulder and arm.

Suicide King: It’s a simple strategy. Pick a body part and isolate it.

Dace stands again and approaches Va’aiga cagily. Va’aiga fires off a quick left cross, stunning Dace with its force and impact. Va’aiga follows that with a second, but anticipating what is coming, Dace rills with the blow, lessening its impact significantly. Va’aiga fires off a third left cross and reels back, kissing his fist for luck, but as the Right Hook is Fired off, Dace leaps and wraps his legs back round Va’aiga’s exposed shoulder and his hooking arm and takes the Massive Maori back down into the cross arm breaker. Va’aiga launches a low growl of pain and anguish as the pain from the deadly submission wracks through his arm and shoulder, and Dace grits his teeth putting as much pressure as his body can muster into the hold. Dace again asks Matthew Kivell to check on Va’aiga and again Va’aiga responds with a defiant near scream of “NO!”

Axis: If Dace keeps up this level of pressure, the Maori Badass is sure to tap out.

Suicide King: It’s a nasty, nasty hold the cross arm breaker. There are few things in this world as devastating physically as having your elbow hyper extended, and as few things as damaging psychologically as hearing it happen!

Va’aiga uses his free arm to begin to claw his way towards the ropes, but his slow, inexorable progress does little to absorb the pain of the hold. Dace asks for another check. Another question from Kivell, another “NO!” from Va’aiga. More inching. The noise in the arena begins to build as Va’aiga reaches ever closer to the ropes. Dace again asks, and again a “NO!” is all that’s forthcoming. Closer. Another ask, another no. Closer. Another ask, but Va’aiga, fingertips at full stretch just manages to grab hold of the bottom rope, and Matthew Kivell orders a break. Dace breaks quickly and rolls away, seating himself adjacent an adjacent set of ropes to catch his breath. Va’aiga drags himself to his feet, wincing again at the pain as he locks his worked on arm around the ropes while picking himself up.

Axis: Va’aiga is out of the hold.

Suicide King: It’s an amazing feat to get out of it, but let’s see how much damage has been done to the Maori Badass.

Axis: I’ve just noticed, but you’re not insulting me.

Suicide King: This was promised as an All Japan Classic. Bitching out your scrawny ass wouldn’t fit the mood. Trust me; I’ll get back to it next week, Axis.

Dace approaches Va’aiga with care, making sure the massive Maori won’t lash out at him. Dace kicks Va’aiga forcefully in the gut, bending the Maori Badass double. Dace picks up Va’aiga effortlessly and sling him across his shoulder, stepping forward with a knee and dropping Va’aiga forcefully shoulder first across it. Va’aiga drops to the canvas, and Dace stoops down to pick him up and repeat the Shoulder breaker, again dropping Va’aiga across his knee. As Va’aiga slumps on the canvas, Dace stands over the shoulder of the Maori Badass and drops his knee across it. Dace grabs Va’aiga by the arm and drags him a little towards a corner, then climbing up to the second rope and dropping a Bombs Away style knee drop across the self same shoulder.

Axis: It’s a concentrated and focused attack from Dace Night. That can only mean bad things for Va’aiga.

Suicide King: That shoulder and arm have to be hurting something amazing. It’s a massive effort from Va’aiga to still be competing at this stage of the match.

Dace gets to his feet and rushes Va’aiga, shaping for a lariat to send the big Maori over the ropes and down to the unforgiving concrete on the outside. Va’aiga, however has other plans and takes a step forward, and as Dace is forced to stutter step to shape right for his move, Va’aiga uses the slight break in Dace’s focus to grab him round the waist and hit an ugly and lopsided flapjack, landing Dace forcefully ribs first over the top rope. Dace hangs there for a second before slipping down back into the ring and Va’aiga desperately shakes his arm, trying to improve the circulation to it. On the floor Dace clutches his ribs and Va’aiga drops down to cover…

ONE!

TWO!

TH… and Dace kicks out, Va’aiga letting out a small cry of pain as he flips hard onto the hurt shoulder from the kick out. Va’aiga uses his other arm to lever himself back up to a standing base, and as Dace gets to one knee Va’aiga rushes him and fires a stiff knee into Dace’s head sending him back down to the canvas. Va’aiga moves over to the fallen dace and fires a flurry of stomps into Dace’s wounded ribs, before lifting Dace off the ground and over onto Va’aiga’s broad shoulders. Va’aiga flips Dace out of the fireman’s carry forwards, and extending a Maori knee as Dace drops, Dace ends up landing ribs first across Va’aiga. Va’aiga takes a second to check which elbow he’s dropping and makes sure it’s the fit one that lands in Dace’s sternum as he drops to the canvas. Va’aiga hooks a leg.

ONE!

TWO!

THR… and Dace kicks out at two. Va’aiga returns to his feet first, Dace a little slower. Va’aiga grabs Dace and powers him into a side headlock, lifting the Brummie star up for a suplex, but stepping a pace forwards and bringing him down front suplex style over the ropes again. Dace drapes over the ropes and then drops onto his feet, dazed, standing on the ring apron. Va’aiga close in and locks another side headlock, looking to suplex Dace back into the ring, but Dace grabs his free arm onto the ropes to stop the move. Dace with a grunt of exertion reverses and suplexes Va’aiga up to a vertical position, and then turns, dropping the massive Maori into a modified version of his Sentenced move, Guillotine Ace Crushering Va’aiga neck first onto the top rope. The crowd cheers wildly and a mild “Holy Shit!” chant starts up around the arena.

Axis: What a move by Dace Night! What a move!

Suicide King: Did ya see that Axis? He Sentenced him across the rope!

Axis: I sure saw it, King, but I’m not sure I believe it!

Dace grabs Va’aiga’s slumped form and forcefully drags it under the bottom rope. Dace lets Va’aiga stand, still a little dazed, and then elbows the Maori solidly in the gut to force him to bend over. Dace forces Va’aiga into a standing head scissors and attempts to lift him…

Axis: He’s gonna powerbomb him off the apron! This is high impact taken to it’s extreme!

…but Va’aiga manages to somehow grab hold enough of Dace’s wrestling gear to stay on the apron! Va’aiga uses a massive burst of power to stand up, clinging on to Dace’s form as Dace attempts the powerbomb again, and the net result is Dace left over the shoulders of the massive Maori! Va’aiga leans back forward and whips Dace back down, holding him in a bearhug, then using his stronger arm to turn Dace around, positions Dace so he is perpendicular to Va’aiga, belly across Va’aiga’s chest. Va’aiga screams out a powerful focusing call in Maori, and even allows a little smile to cross his face. The crowd excitement builds. Va’aiga looks first left, then right, checking around the audience for a positive reaction then slowly falls forward off the ring apron, hitting Dace Night with an APRON DIVE MAORI DROP!!!! Matthew Kivell counts “ONE!” as the crowd busts into a HUGE “Holy Shit!” chant. Va’aiga howls out in pain while Dace lies there spreadeagled on the protective mats. Matthew Kivell counts “TWO!”

Axis: I’m inclined to agree with the sentiments of the crowd. That was an amazing move.

Suicide King: I sure wouldn’t like that to happen to me Axis. Ever.

Matthew Kivell counts “THREE!”

Axis: I’m not sure Va’aiga didn’t hurt his arm again there though King.

Suicide King: Well let’s have a look at that move again.

Matthew Kivell counts “FOUR!”

A slow motion replay of the move reveals that Va’aiga didn’t properly unhook his weakened right arm as he fell, and it got sandwiched under Dace Night as the move hit.

Matthew Kivell counts “FIVE!”

Axis: Well I’m not sure that that Maori Drop was a good idea after all people. I hope both the guys out there are okay.

Suicide King: Well they’re both still breathing Axis, and that’s all that matters.

Matthew Kivell counts “SIX!”

Va’aiga slowly and carefully drags himself to his feet, leaving Dace still lying there breathing heavily. Slowly Va’aiga begins to regain his composure. Matthew Kivell counts “SEVEN!” Va’aiga moves over to the fallen Dace and picks him up, setting Dace up for a whip into the guardrail. Matthew Kivell counts “EIGHT!” Va’aiga whips Dace hard into the rail and uses the staggering recoil of the move to hit Dace with a quick backdrop suplex on the floor. Matthew Kivell counts “NINE!” Va’aiga again takes his time getting to his feet, allowing him to breath deeply and recover a little lost stamina. Dace again lays spreadeagled on the outside. Matthew Kivell counts “TEN!”

Axis: Remember people, the referee is counting to twenty in this match.

Suicide King: It would be a crying shame to see such a close encounter end in a double count out, though a draw may be considered a fair result.

Matthew Kivell counts “ELEVEN!” as Va’aiga moves over to the fallen Dace again. Va’aiga plants Dace down with a quick lariat but DACE HOPS UP! Dace grits his teeth as the crowd let forth a massive cheer! Matthew Kivell counts “TWELVE!” as Va’aiga grabs an arm of the recently reinvigorated Dace and goes to whip him, but Dace do-see-dos and Va’aiga crashes into the ring apron, bad arm first. Matthew Kivell counts “THIRTEEN!”

Axis: An unlucky number for Va’aiga maybe.

Suicide King: Being in the ring with Dace Night is unlucky for anyone, Axis.

Matthew Kivell counts “FOURTEEN!” and Dace fires off some stiff elbow strikes, rocking Va’aiga back against the ring apron. Matthew Kivell counts “FIFTEEN!” and finally the brawling outside ends as Dace slings Va’aiga back into the ring under the bottom rope. Va’aiga rolls close to the ropes as Dace reenters the ring. Dace picks up Va’aiga again, lifting the massive Maori up and setting him up for a vertical suplex, maybe even a brainbuster, but Va’aiga slides his free arm around the top rope and Dace is forced to break.

Axis: Dace Night may have knocked the stuffing out of Va’aiga, but he’s not managed to knock the ring sense out of him.

Suicide King: That the sign of a good wrestler, like me! Doesn’t matter how beaten up you are, you always have to know where you are in the ring.

Dace grabs Va’aiga’s worked over arm and whips Va’aiga, accompanied by another shout of anguish, into the far ropes. Dace awaits Va’aiga’s return and uses the big Maori’s momentum against him, wrapping Va’aiga’s arm up again and bringing him down with a Single Arm DDT! Dace covers Va’aiga and Matthew Kivell jumps down to count the cover.

ONE!

TWO!

THR… and Va’aiga lifts a shoulder. Dace curses in frustration and lifts the big Maori to his feet again, hitting a quick standing switch and this time, finally, Va’aiga doesn’t have the strength to muscle Dace back towards the ropes! Dace hits his massive release German Suplex, flattening Va’aiga on the canvas and the crowd oohs in appreciation. Dace covers.

ONE!

TWO!

TH… and Va’aiga kicks out again, leading the crowd into a rousing “VAY-IN-GAH!” chant!

Axis: Va’aiga grabbing the crowd behind him then with that excellent kick out.

Suicide King: I think that Dace feels the end is near, Axis.

Dace lifts Va’aiga up to a vertical base and locks in a side headlock. Allowing himself an uncharacteristic small smile, maybe a little self praise for his advantageous position, Dace lifts Va’aiga to vertical, and drops him STRAIGHT DOWN with a Sheer Drop Brainbuster!!! Before Dace can even launch into a cover Va’aiga LEAPS to his feet! The crowd chants for Va’aiga rise to a crescendo as Dace has to stop himself from showing weakness, nearly shaking his head in disbelief. Va’aiga fires off a series of stiff left hands and whips Dace into the ropes, catching and scooping Dace up over his shoulder and then sitting down sideways, dropping Dace right on his head with a lightning quick SOUTHERN LIGHTS BOMB! AND DACE LEAPS UP TO HIS FEET!

Axis: My God, these men are inhuman! The strength of body and mind required to not just kick out after such dangerous moves, but to be completely unfazed by them is extreme!

Suicide King: These two athletes just continue to impress me tonight, Axis.

Dace fires off a deadly elbow strike right into Va’aiga’s orbital bone and Va’aiga drops back a half pace. Va’aiga fires off one of his trademark lefts, and Dace drops back a half pace. Dace responds with an ultra stiff knife hand chop. Va’aiga responds with a rapid elbow strike of his own. An elbow from Dace. A kick from Va’aiga. Elbow. Punch. Kick. Kick. Chop. Elbow. Elbow. Elbow. Strikes fly in left and right (albeit solely left from Va’aiga, not wanting to further hurt his arm), and neither of the paired pugilists budges an inch. Finally the pair back up and as if as with one mind, both launch off the ropes and leap towards each other with Yakuza Kicks! Both men collapse to the mat with an almighty thud. Matthew Kivell puts on a double count. Matthew Kivell counts “ONE!”

Axis: After that firey exchange both men seem to be thoroughly out of gas, King.

Matthew Kivell counts “TWO!”

Suicide King: I don’t know how much gas any professional athlete could have left in the tank after the firey exchanges these two great wrestlers have put each other through.

Matthew Kivell counts “THREE!”

Axis: Both men hit the mat like sacks of potatoes though, King.

Matthew Kivell counts “FOUR!”

Suicide King: This match could end in a double countout INSIDE the ring here.

Matthew Kivell counts “FIVE!”

The crowd heat builds to a near building destroying level with rival chants for both Dace Night and Va’aiga filling the arena

Matthew Kivell counts “SIX!”

“DACE! DACE! DACE!”

Matthew Kivell counts “SEVEN!”

”VA-IN-GAH!, VA-IN-GAH!”

Matthew Kivell counts “EIGHT!”

Axis: Va’aiga is stirring, King, Va’aiga is stirring!

And Va’aiga crawls up the ropes to his feet!

Matthew Kivell counts “NINE!”

Axis: But can Dace Night summon the energy, the fortitude to stand?

Matthew Kivell counts “TE…!” and Dace gets up to his feet!

Axis: Look at the fortitude. These guys have amazing reserves of energy in the tanks!

Va’aiga moves over to Dace and locks in a side headlock, then blasts the High Priest over with a vertical suplex, floating over to cover…

ONE!

TWO!

THR… and Dace kicks out! The crowd chant is back firmly behind Dace as he stands again. Va’aiga grabs for Dace again, looking to gut wrench him up for a Maori Drop, but Dace resists, and despite grunts of energy Va’aiga can’t lift Dace up. Va’aiga relinquishes the hold and fires another pair of softening elbows into Dace’s temple, setting Dace up again to be gut wrenched. Va’aiga screams out in a Maori Rage, not against Dace, but more against himself in his inability to wrench Dace up for a final Maori Drop. Va’aiga screams out and tries one last time and Dace counters into a gutwrench of his own! Dace lifts Va’aiga all the way up over his shoulder and turns to face the camera side of the arena, kneeling out and dropping Va’aiga with a TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER! Dace covers!

ONE!

TWO!

THRE… NO! Va’aiga kicks out!

Axis: Va’aiga kicks out! Va’aiga kicks out! Va’aiga kicks out of Dace’s Tombstone! That’s a gut check and a half from the massive Maori!

Suicide King: Will anything finish either of these two guys off?

Dace clutches his head and scowls, looking deep into his reserves of moves to try to think of something, anything that could finish Va’aiga off. Dace lifts Va’aiga off the canvas and kicks him again in the sternum, sending the Maori back to a bent double position. The crowd chants for Va’aiga again, sensing that Dace has the best of the situation, willing the Maori Badass on, not as a slight to Dace but merely to try to prolong the match. Dace hooks first one, then the other of Va’aiga’s arms and looks downwards, offering a silent prayer to a lower deity and hoping that this will finish Va’aiga off. Dace lifts Va’aiga up into the air butterfly style and drops him on his head with the DEFENESTRATION! Dace drops down to the mat to cover, using a back press so to expend less energy at this late phase of the match!

ONE!

TWO!

THRE… NO! Va’aiga kicks out again!

Axis: I don’t believe it, King. I see it but I don’t believe it. How many times do you have to drop this Maori on his head to stop him from kicking out?

Suicide King: Gold is a strong motivation for such a performance King. It’s all about the title here tonight.

Dace Night gets to his knees and stares blankly down at Va’aiga’s prone form on the canvas. Dace lifts a limp arm of Va’aiga’s up and gives a look into the audience as if to say “How?” before picking Va’aiga off the mat again. Dace gut wrenches Va’aiga up and racks him in a Canadian Backbreaker over one shoulder. Dace breathes in deeply looking to take Va’aiga down with a final blow. The crowd begins a chant of “D-S-D” Shadowing the Dark Star Driver attempt. Dace breathes in deeply again, but the delay in leaving Va’aiga over his shoulder to draw breath allows Va’aiga just enough time to worm his way around loosening the hold and slide down Dace’s back. Dace responds to this by hooking Va’aiga’s arms as he slides, and Dace lifts Va’aiga up looking for a Black Nova! Dace lifts Va’aiga off the ground and attempts this deadly move, reaching deep into his repertoire to look for a finish, but Dace winces with the pain coming from his ribcage and can’t quite lift Va’aiga over. Va’aiga fights the hold and takes Dace over with a backslide!

ONE!

T.. no! Va’aiga relinquishes the hold.

Suicide King: What is Va’aiga doing? He could have had him there.

Axis: It’s all about pride, it’s all about pride for Va’aiga. I don’t think there’s any way the Maori Badass would want to live with winning the title on a backslide.

Suicide King: That could be a vital error. The whole match could swing on that.

Va’aiga lifts Dace up and hits a quick standing switch, transitioning quickly to a full nelson. The Massive Maori fight the pain in his right arm and his face goes blank as the mist clears, and breaking the pain barrier Va’aiga hits a Dragon suplex! Instead of bridging Va’aiga rolls backwards, keeping the full nelson applied and lifting to one leg, then the other, still with the hold loosely applied and hitting a SECOND Dragon Suplex! Va’aiga rolls through again, slowly picks himself up again and lifts Dace up into a FULL NELSON BOMB! Va’aiga holds in a pinning predicament…

ONE!

TWO!

THR… and Dace Kicks out.

Axis: MY GOD! The Rolling Dragons! Va’aiga hasn’t used those moves in over 3 years!

Suicide King: Va’aiga is dropping as deep into his move set as he can go, and Dace still takes it!

Va’aiga Stands slowly and lifts Dace off the ground again, kicks him solidly in the guts and gut wrenches him up.. the crowd cheers on Dace this time, as he is now the underdog in the situation. Va’aiga pulls back and hits a MAORI DROP!

ONE!

TWO!

THRE… and Dace Kicks Out!

Axis: My god, what must be going through Va’aiga’s mind!

Va’aiga lifts Dace up again, and again kicks Dace in the stomach. The decibel level increases to a near cacophony. Va’aiga gut wrenches Dace up again, backs off to the ropes and hits Dace Night with a RUNNING MAORI DROP!

Axis: RUNNING MAORI DROP! RUNNING MAORI DROP! IT’S OVER! IT’S OVER!

ONE!

TWO!

THRE…. NO!!!!!!!!!! DACE LIFTS A SHOULDER!

Axis: Oh... my… God.

Suicide King: Now I REALLY don’t believe it. Dace kicked out of a Running Maori Drop. No one kicks out of a Running Maori Drop. Ever.

Axis: How can Va’aiga top that? HOW?

Va’aiga lifts Dace off the mat again. The arena is rocking from it’s foundations with the huge chants of “DACE! DACE! DACE!” Va’aiga kicks Dace in the guts again, gut wrenches him for a third time and hits another MAORI DROP! Va’aiga stands up and looks skywards, then slowly, slowly climbs up to the top rope… raises his fists… and hits a FROG SPLASH!!! Dace’s ribs get the full blunt of a falling 285lb Maori! Va’aiga hooks a leg!

ONE!

TWO!!

THREE!

Matthew Kivell hands Va’aiga the SJL world title belt and raises the big Maori’s hand. And Va’aiga raises his fists to the sky, then drops to his knees and collapses on the canvas, breathing heavily with the belt wrapped loosely round him.

Axis: What an amazing match. And that’s all we have time for folks, for the King this is Axis saying peace!
