Guest GameCop Report post Posted April 3, 2003 There's no more fun in wrestling anymore. We are NEVER going to see D-Generation X invading WCW or ECW invading WWE! Its all gone into one big wrestling organization with the all the fun with it. You won't ever hear Eric Pissof saying the results for raw or some other stuff. No wrestler or any other person for that matter will be making fun of another organization. No More Nacho Man or Billionaire Ted! All gone!! So what are your thoughts? Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted April 3, 2003 Vince bought his competition, and to compensate he created the brand-extension. Question answered.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 3, 2003 For the industry to ever be as big as it once was, we do need at least two big name feds, in my eyes.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted April 3, 2003 Unfortunately Vince killed both WCW and ECW's brand names dead. Your better off hoping TNA or ROH can get into the mainstream.
Guest snuffbox Report post Posted April 3, 2003 Id love to have ECW still around. It was my favorite fed for awhile there and provided quality entertainment if you were into the product. I also enjoyed WCW when they were getting shit right. But neither will be returning....the world is much gayer because of this.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 3, 2003 I marked for WCW even when it was horrible. Because, quite frankly, even when the shows overall sucked, they almost always had at least some pretty damn fine matches going on.
Guest candie45 Report post Posted April 3, 2003 I know what you mean. I was just watching some of the ECW shows we taped and I was watching one where the Dudleys cut the promo in the bathroom after winning the tag belts again and going to WWF with them- they were saying how Vince was their hero and they would be going north to the most "hardcore" federation and shit like that.. right... Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted April 3, 2003 TNA is the closest thing, they get one show a week that via PPV is seen nationally. the other feuds that are close to it fold or have problems. WWA's promoter doesn't seem to understand fact and fiction, actually expecting to hire Christian when Christian said on TV that he quit heh. XPW is too Garbage wrestling Taking the worst elements of ECW and blowing it up to fit a entire card. there isn't alot of options, unless the smarks wanna pool our meager resources and fund a weekly tv spot for a local fed or those promotions that are on the brink of national exposure but just doesn't get there. LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2003 TNA is the closest thing.........but cmon we all complain about the WWE, but think about it. TNA now has MABEL, The Harris Boys, BG JAMES, these old timers who take up a ton of the tv time. Also, on that roster who can sell out an arena.....Jeff Jarrett? aJ Styles (not yet at least), Raven? Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 3, 2003 No Way is NWA even a considerable competitor to WWE. It has ZERO expoursure and it isn't that great of a product... When Jeff Jarrett is your Top guy...You aren't helping yourself...

Good thing however they got that open door policy for their talent to work other shows for other promotions connected to NWA
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted April 3, 2003 Cannon, BG James hasn't been on in weeks...just thought I'd point that out. There ARE alternatives...they just happen to cost money.

Yea, but he'll be back sooner or later. TNa has some good young talent, but none of them will carry a promotion to mainstream success
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 3, 2003 As far as TNA goes, I don't know a single person who watches wrestling, and does NOT go to wrestling stuff on the internet, that has ever even HEARD of TNA. I don't know about you, but isn't that a bad thing? Do any of you experiance this also?
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2003 Yeah, i know people who looked dumbstruck when i was talking about TNA. They have NO marketing, or mainstream exposure...........who the fuck is gonna pay $10 a damn week for a company they havent heard of.....That's $40 freakin a month. Pretty expensive for a small fed. Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 3, 2003 ESPN needs to put wrestling back on basic cable, like they did back in the day.

I don't even follow it anymore, seeing how I can't even order the PPV's with DishNetwork. I am not overspeaking when saying that I don't know ANYONE who has ever heard of it before, it's that scarce around here. Hell, I live in SC, you'd figure at least someone I know would have heard of it. I was talking to someone, who has a carrier that DOES carry TNA, and he didn't even know he could order it untill I pointed it out to him. TNA is at a standstill as far as I'm concerned, they have a long way to go before they hit mainstream... ...I do pray to God that they finally get there though! Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 3, 2003 ESPN needs to put wrestling back on basic cable, like they did back in the day. I wish they would also. Do they still have classic wrestling to come on Saturdays on ESPN Classic?
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2003 even if TNA DID get to go mainstream it would probably be a flop cause they can't keep most of their wrestlers under any type of commited contract. So, WWE would probably take them away anyway. We need good ol' Billionaire Ted to get back in the game and put wrestling on his network again. Competition is always good for companies. I know several people, but a couple of them are 100% over the top marks, and the other is somewhere in the middle. Guest SP-1 Report post Posted April 3, 2003 My friend and I are thinking about campaigning to get a Sports Bar or a Hooters or something to carry TNA. That would rule. I'd endure Hooters for TNA.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 3, 2003 I don't care who says different, I still say that they should do ANYTHING it takes to get a TV deal, and have it air OPPOSITE of RAW. Yes, it would get horrible ratings for the first, well, good while. However, durring commercials on RAW, people might flip around and see some hot TNA action, some guys that used to be in WWE, or something on the show, and they might start getting hooked on it over time. Or hell, people might flip durring RAW, if it's bad enough, and find TNA. It would be very hard, but I think it would be a great way to get more and more fans, etc... I also feel that before they become much of anything, they need to find a way to lock certain guys in long term, that is, if the company itself is in it for longterm. I totally agree with you Downhome.......I think thats what got WCW rolling is when they started going head to head with WWF(E). It created a buzz with fans and they tuned in to see what the deal was with WCW and many of them started liking Nitro better. The owner thats gonna be succesfull, if any, has to have the balls to go head to head with Vince and pull out all the stops. The new owner has got to take some big risks
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 3, 2003 Yet, that's the thing. No current owner is willing to take the WWE directly on, because they either: A) don't have the finacial backing. or B) can't be assured that they'll keep their best stars around. Still, I'd be sure to watch ANYTHING else than WWE if one came on. Besides, if something were to go head to head with Raw, they'd probably do good.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted April 3, 2003 we could think of TNA as the new WCW and ROH as the new ECW...
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 3, 2003 we could think of TNA as the new WCW and ROH as the new ECW... Comparing RoH to ECW isn't really a good thing, considering RoH is built on the fact that you are supposed to obey the Code of Honor (someone else explain that, cause I'll suck at doing so). I think it should be TNA=ECW and RoH=WCW if we wanna make them as such... Then again I prefer them by their actual names.
Guest GameCop Report post Posted April 4, 2003 WWE is just getting so boring now, the story lines stink. I mean XPW is royal sh|t. There is about 10 hours of just commentary with people who can't even act. And to me, you can't compare XPW to ECW at all. ECW was Extreme Championship Wrestling, XPW is Xterminated Pissed Wrestling, meaning they kill the whole exhileration before the match and they are pissed becuase they are wondering why they have no viewers. With WCW, I can see how you can relate it NWA TNA, but don't forget NWA TNA is all PPV's. You have to pay $10-$20 just to see their SMACKDOWN or RAW. If WWE at least started picking on NWA TNA for example and invading them or something, I tell you, the rating will jump up through the roof!!
