Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2003 what about Jerry Blackwell as the worst? Thinking about it, its just a shame that Show had let himself go.... just like Andre back in the day he had decent mobility for a man his size... I saw the Biography on pro wrestling and they did a little piece on Andre and they show him literally chasing Bobby Heenan out of the ring and the big man was *moving*. Amazing. Guest Coffin Surfer Report post Posted May 31, 2003 (edited) Vader is EASILY the best fat man/hoss ever. Currently in WWE, the best hoss is A-TRAIN. Seriously, the A-Train bashing is getting old. Why? -Can be carried to a *** match. Worst currently- Rosey Oh nevermind, I see that you were talking about A-Train, at least I hope so. Guest Riots bloodlust Report post Posted June 2, 2003 *Pauses to bask in the Vader love* Ahhh, that felt good. Yes, Vader, the only man I've seen get a 2 minute win in All Japan, much less a KO win. You say that Hansen counts because he broke out Vader's eye? How about some respect for the man who had his eye broken out? That's damn tough. I'm hoping his training will find enough left in the tank to make some good on his upcoming run in W J pro, or in the WWE as some in WJ Pro are afraid will happen. It's also kinda tough to give Bam Bam the love he deserves when Vader is right there making Bam Bam look third tier. It might not be fair, but that's how it goes. I'd say best ever is kindof a toss up between Vader and Andre. Andre had the massive crossover appeal, but in the ring, I can never get enough Vader. Worst ever? Anyone remember the "Ultimate Solution" from the second Uncensored? There was also Ice Train (Maybe they could bring him back to tag with A Train), Mantaur, Loch Ness, Kurrgan, "The Shockmaster", Giant Gonzales, and more, but in the grand scheme of things I think they were pretty harmless. I suppose a good argument could be made for Goldberg being the worst, what with the career ending kick and all. As for Nathan Jones? I don't consider him a wrestler yet, so for me he isn't eligible. Guest SEO TAIJI Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Best-past=Vader Best-Present= A-Train(I dont know what it is about him, I just never get bored in his matches.) Worst-Past=Typhone Worst-Present=Big Show
Guest Riots bloodlust Report post Posted June 3, 2003 I dunno, I have some trouble getting into A-Train, what with his abundant use of the deadly force of air when kicking... But it is certianly true, at least he doesn't move in slow motion, and seems to put some effort into his ring presence. I mean even beyond his goofy yelling. Guest two_tuff_toddy Report post Posted June 3, 2003 Best Hoss Ever - Vader - No bigman has ever come close to producing the level of work and quality of matches that he has had in his career. Long Live the Vader Beatdown. Worst Hoss Ever - Giant Gonzales - It's a toss up for me as who is worse between him and Tiger Jeet Singh. Whoever it is is the worst wrestler ever and the other is a close 2nd.
Guest Coffin Surfer Report post Posted June 3, 2003 You say that Hansen counts because he broke out Vader's eye? How about some respect for the man who had his eye broken out? That's damn tough. No, Hansen counts because he's not just one of the greatest hosses off all time, he is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time period. His ability to sell and put over his smaller opponents is unsurpassed, very very smart man when he wanted to be. Hell, he's the only guy I've seen who actually called most of the shots in a Kawada match, and the match actually still ended up being great. If women count, Aja Kong was a better fat wrestler than Vadar too. Vadar's up there, but he just wasn't as smart as Kong and Hansen, when it came to carrying, but Vadar still carried Sting to the greatest WCW Heavyweight singles match of all time. I didn't think about Hansen when I picked so I am changing my pick to Hansen although I'm more of a Vader fan although thats probably just because I've seen more of him. I personally think that Vader is better than Aja from what I've seen of the two. Aja is the 3rd best womens wrestler ever though IMO. I'm assuming that when you picked Vader/Sting as the best WCW title match you were differentiating that from the NWA because to say Vader/Sting was better than any of the Flair/Steamboat trilogy in 89 would be rediculous. If so, I would totally agree with Sting/Vader 1992 Great American Bash being number 1.
Guest Riots bloodlust Report post Posted June 3, 2003 I didn't mean to reduce Hansen to that one event, I just mean that credit is due the other way too for Vader being able to handle getting his face broken. I mean, recently Vader stared down Police dogs! That just drips with bad assedness. Personally I haven't seen too much of Hansen, and what I have seen has been while he's barely able to walk, but I vind Vader so much fun to watch, and he handles his weight and strength with so much style that in my eyes I can't see anything being much better. Hansen was much much better than Vadar. Hansen did mastermind what many believe to be the second greatest singles match of all time(7/93 against Kobashi), and as far as selling goes, Hansen's performance in that match ranks as one of the all time best, making every single little move count. Hansen also had many other great matches and performances throughout the 90s until age started to catch up with him, all of which is better than Vadar's best work. He also is said to have carried Hogan and Baba to the best matches of their careers(though I have yet to track them down yet). "I personally think that Vader is better than Aja from what I've seen of the two. Aja is the 3rd best womens wrestler ever though" Nevermind that none of Vadar's best work comes anywhere near Aja's best work. In the Aja/Toyota matches, Kong pretty much perfected the art of constructing the monster/underdog match. Hell, Vadar can't even match the quanity of great matches she's had. Vadar was great, but to say he was better than Aja is in your words, rediculous. "I'm assuming that when you picked Vader/Sting as the best WCW title match you were differentiating that from the NWA because to say Vader/Sting was better than any of the Flair/Steamboat trilogy in 89 would be rediculous. Yes, I picked it as the best WCW Heavyweight singles match, not counting the NWA which produced Tully/Magnum, Flair/Steamboat, Flair/Windham...ect. Glad to see you agree, and believe it to be better than the overrated Flair/Vadar Starcade 93. Even if somebody has Sting/Vadar as being better than Flair/Steamboat I don't see how it's that ridiculous. They are alot closer than most people think, the only thing that really holds Sting/Vadar a few notches below Flair/Steamboat is the lame attempt to keep Sting's cred with the ring post incident, and the ref bump. 1 is o.k.(hell Flair/Steamboat did that too), but 2 is just too much.
