I'm not really sure why but I cried at the end of Jack when I saw it for the first time.

I cried at the end of Jack, too.

Don't feel bad.

I got misty eyed at Jack because I knew Robin Williams was gonna die soon.

I've also gotten misty/cried at:

- Braveheart (FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM!)

- Good Will Hunting

- Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring

- Far From Heaven

- Trainspotting

- E.T

I'm sure are others but I can't think of them right now.

I cried watching Philidelphia twice. The first came right after Denzel Washington's character watched Tom Hanks mimic the opera. And at the end when they showed the home movie. Very sad.

I also teared up at the end of "Empire of the Sun". When the main character finally gets reunited with his parents.

There have been exactly six movies I've full-on cried for:

The Elephant Man: at the end, with the shooting stars and beautiful music.

The Rapture: when the woman sang "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" in the jail cell, with the bars falling down and sounding like bells.

Schindler's List: two or three different times.

Dead Man Walking: the execution.

Titanic: yeah, that's right. During the priest's impromptu mass on the deck.

Saving Private Ryan: being it was only two weeks after my own father had gotten shot, the opening D-Day scene fucked me up pretty hard.

Various other movies have "shivered" me, where I came close, but no waterworks: Ran, Carrie, Memento, The Sixth Sense, Moulin Rouge, LOTR: Two Towers, and others I've forgotten.

Phew.

Glad I'm not the only one in the world that cried at the end.

I'm not a crier, no matter how sad/depressing a scene is. That doesn't mean I don't feel it, but I can't shed tears.

Except for once: The movie was called White Squall. It had Jeff Bridges in it and was about some boat that goes out in the ocean and, at one point, encounters a storm. I don't remember specifics very well, this was a long time ago, I may have only been 9 or so, but there's amildly retarded kid on the boat who's brother fell off a tree and died, so the kid carries a picture with him everywhere he goes, and whenever something bad happens, he constantly repeats "It's only a dream".

I don't know how to work these zany spoiler tags, so spoilers below.

The boat gets hit and starts filling up with water. He's the only one in this one compartment that starts getting flooded and he starts screaming "It's only a dream" and you know there's no chance he'll make it. I lost it.

Oh, and once in Quantam Leap a retard spilled some drinks and some guy yelled at him for being retarded. I teared up there (I was a youngan.)

Suuuuperman... BOOM!

If you watch the Iron Giant, and don't get at least a few creepers - I question whether you have a soul.

Private Ryan with the knife into the heart scene and...

I never cried at that, but it's one of the most disturbing scenes I've ever seen in all of cinema. To this day, I cannot watch that scene. I always have to fast forward.

Let's see...

Dead Poet's Society at the very end. "O Captain my Captain!" "Thank you boys..."

Braveheart "You bled with Wallace, now bleed with me!" and then Hamish throws the sword...

Field of Dreams "You want to have a catch?" "Yeah, I'd like that."

LoTR: Fellowship of the Ring "I would have followed you to the end, my brother, my captain, my king..." (Kinda gets me choked up now...)

Glory "Give 'em hell 54th!!"

Rob Roy "What shall I do about the baby?" "If it is a boy, name him Robert. If it is a girl, name her after my love, Mary MacGregor."

For Love of the Game "Because right now, we don't stink. We are going to be awesome for you Chappy. Just throw the ball."

Beauty and the Beast "At least... at least I got to see you one... more... time..."

Star Trek II: "Of all the souls I have encountered in my journeys, his was the most.... human." "Honors!!" Amazing Grace on the bagpipes...

The Rookie "Apparently, they have a dress code in the major leagues." "There's someone else you have to tell..."

Rocky "Adrian!! Adrian!!!"

This, I will get shit for...

On Golden Pond "You are still my white night in shining armor..."

That's all for now...

I'll say Johnny Cash's video for Hurt has made me more emotional than any movie. Fuck, that shit is powerful.

My girlfriend didn't want to watch Casablanca with me, because she HATES black-and-white. I tried off and on for a year to get her to sit down and watch it with me, but to no avail. So one night she tells me, "If you want to put in that old movie you love so much; go ahead. I don't care."

By the end she was BALLING, and I had the biggest grin on my face because of how much I love that movie.

OK I admit it.....

Time Bandits and Ice Pirates both made me cry. Oh wait, that's not what you meant.

Well, for some reason my heart strings can get tugged often in movies for some reason. I think all mine have been mentioned, but here's the ones that spring to mind.

What Dreams May Come (I first saw it right after my dad died, literally like 2 weeks afterwards. Got weepy as hell most of the way through.)

Rudy (The dude FINALLY realizes his dream and his dad's there to see it. Plus Rudy's even on the set, standing behind Ned Beatty looking the wrong way most of the time.)

Titanic (The pan shot that goes over everyone who died on the ship)

Braveheart (ditto the Robert the Bruce speech at the end, gets me every time)

A Perfect Storm (When the ship is going down and the crew realizes there's nothing they can do)

Most any movie with Amazing Grace (God that song makes me tear up every time) especially bagpipes (see the Star Trek II reference below). The pipes just seem to make the hymn so much more emotional for some reason.

Thought of another one or two...

Father of the Bride Part 2 - "Doctor, these women are my life..." "I know."

The Untouchables - "I think he would have wanted you to have this." "No sir, I Kinda think he would have wanted you to..." "No, he would have wanted a cop to have it"

The Lion King - "C'mon Dad, get up... its time to go."

Return of the Jedi - "Go, my son, leave me." "No, I have to save you." "You already have, Luke. Tell your sister you were right about me..."

Now I don't cry outright, but I get a little teary in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" when Indy's dad finally calls him "Indiana" at the end instead of "Junior"

Casablanca - Too many parts to count really. Great, great movie.

Shane - "Shane! Come back!! Shane!!"
