Guest Eagan469 Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Wrestlemania XX March 14, 2004 Madison Square Garden Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg (play up the whole "Brock is a cheap Goldberg imitation" card - Brock goes over clean) Steve Austin vs. Chris Benoit Ric Flair issuing an open challenge as a heel, Hogan comes out to "Real American" after a few-month absence, beats Flair clean, both men shake hands and retire TLC V Diesel/Kevin Nash vs. Undertaker
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 You and Dmann each made a thread with the same subject within a minute of each other. Scary.
Guest NoCalMike Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 a YEAR from today, you honestly want to see UT vs. Kevin Nash? Asif it wouldn't be bad enough now, but a whole new year of abuse on the body? DUD
Guest Choken One Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 March 14th? What? WAYYY to early...Hopefully they drop NWO then.. *I am going that Split is still in effect... WWE title Match Brock Lesnar Vs Steve Austin World Title Match Chris Jericho Vs Rob Van Dam Chris Benoit Vs Kurt Angle About All I can think off for now...give me a few hours...
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 id still like to see Hogan-Austin
cawthon777 Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 March 14????? Damn, I hope they keep it on that date - I can spend spring break in NYC!
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 WWE Championship Rock (Heel Champion) vs. Kurt Angle (Face) World Title HHH vs. Rob Van Damn Re-Match From WrestleMania I Hulk Hogan & Mr. T. vs. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper & "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndoff Mark my words, I'm going to WrestleMania XX.
Guest bob_barron Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Piper and Orndorff have long since retired. I think something like Austin v. Benoit would be a great way to go out for Austin
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Austin going out at WrestleMania XX and putting Benoit over would be such an AWESOME way for Austin's career to end. I wouldn't want the WrestleMania I rematch to be 13:27 like it was at WrestleMania I. Just give them 5 minutes and have Piper & Orndoff get the job back.
Guest bob_barron Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Why job the faces at a marquee match that has no bearing on the roster? Piper and Orndorff are retied- the last time Orndorff got in the ring they had to stop the match cause he got hurt
Guest Coffey Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 I wanna see Sean Morley in at least an upper midcard match. I wanna see John Cena & The Hurricane both on the card. Hopefully, both Rob Van Dam & Lance Storm will have singles matches. Hopefully Randy Orton will be back and going full steam ahead too...
Guest Choken One Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 I know I will be the only one here...But Hope it's Not Benoit in the Main event... It's WM20! Not a Mid-Major PPV... Austin/Lesnar would be better if they can't contain Hogan and Austin...
Guest RedJed Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Angle/Lesnar rematch with Angle now as a face and Lesnar as a heel, this is the third match and a blowoff, Angle gets a win in between here and Mania XX sometime, and that begins Lesnars heel turn somehow. Hogan v. Piper, hate to admit it but I think its gonna happen, they both better start training for it NOW, especially RP Goldberg v. Austin HBK v. HHH v. Nash v. Xpac or Hall, just watch, it WILL happen Vince v. Bret Hart
Guest Vern Gagne Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Ric Flair issuing an open challenge as a heel, Hogan comes out to "Real American" after a few-month absence, beats Flair clean, both men shake hands and retire Damn it, why does Flair have to lose his final match to Hogan. Yeah I know that's more likely to happen, but couldn't you at least say Flair will win.
Guest razazteca Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Randy Savage vs Vince Warrior vs HHH Jeff Jarret vs Jericho Brett Hart vs Rock Mike Sanders vs Matt Hardy Live performance by ICP
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Predictions: Brock Lesnar d. Steve Austin Goldberg d. Booker T HHH d. Kurt Angle Rob Van Dam d. Rey Mysterio Matt Hardy d. Chris Benoit Chris Jericho d. The Damaja John Cena d. Rhyno
Guest creativename Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Here's what I'd like to see: Austin vs. Benoit (possible retirement stip) Rock vs. RVD Hogan vs. Flair: Double retirement match, billed as determining "The Greatest of All Time" Lesnar vs. Goldberg (perhaps to unify the titles?) Jericho vs. Eddie Taker vs. somebody unimportant (let Taker keep his streak) Angle vs. ...hmmm I don't know...Cena? HHH vs. somebody unimportant Matt Hardy vs. Hurricane Rey Mysterio vs. ...Jamie Noble? This doesn't really belong here, but I'll just note that I think there are 4 people that Goldberg should be jobbed out to at some point, and one of these should be at XX: 1) Austin (this match needs to happen, and it would just be wrong for the "Stone Cold Clone" to go over Stone Cold himself) 2) Jericho (it should've happened in WCW) 3) Lesnar (the opposite situation as with Austin...the "Goldberg rip-off" needs to go over here) 4) Rock (Rock should get his point back at some point...though this one isn't that important)
Guest Choken One Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Are we all banking on Goldberg even LASTING that long here? Logic Sakes that WMXX needs a MAJOR Special Attraction Match.. I really would rather see Austin Vs Brock Lesnar instead of Chris Benoit Vs Austin as the Main event... They can do Benoit Austin any time...Lesnar/Austin is a WM Match...
Guest creativename Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Yeah, but unless they give Benoit a main event-level Mania match, he won't have cred. When they had Angle vs. Benoit for free on SD!, and with a clean finish to boot, it made both look like chumps--"you don't need to pay to see these guys wrestle." Putting Benoit in a huge match with Austin makes him look great. And you know that such a match would get lots of TV time to build it up, which is also great exposure for Benoit. That's really all he needs--he's certainly over enough already. A big match on the big stage is all it would take to elevate him. Of coure that's what so frustrating about the WWE, isn't it? Yes, it's very difficult to make new stars--but they're lucky enough to have a few guys who could actually get elevated fairly easily. They just refuse to give them any support.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Damn it, why does Flair have to lose his final match to Hogan. Yeah I know that's more likely to happen, but couldn't you at least say Flair will win. Seriously. I'd rather Shawn and Flair fight each other to retirement. Shawn even mentioned on Off The Record that he regrets only ever having 5 minutes total ring time against Flair. They'd need to bring back one of those cartoonishly unrealistic WWF heels for Hogan.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 The problem with all this booking Benoit in the main event is he really does need some sort of major gimmick/charisma overhaul or angle to really get him over the top, and that is why I just can't see the guy in the main event, and have been unable to do so ever since the unfortunate neck injury/surgery. The money match would be in Austin/Hogan for SURE, since you'd have the biggest star of the decade of first Wrestlemanias going up against the biggest star of the second decade of Wrestlemanias, in order to kick off the third decade of Wrestlemania. Personally, I'd like to see Chris Jericho as a newly turned face FINALLY beat HHH, and HBK. At the same time, in a gauntlet match. But maybe at least I can have one of those. Brock vs. HHH Booker T vs. Rhyno John Cena vs. Kurt Angle these matches seem intact with what they look to be doing. How about some other interesting ones... Hurricane vs. old school Undertaker they could really play up the comic book/superhero/villain thing here... And of course Hurricane should end the streak. What better way to go over? Rock vs HBK Goldberg vs I dunno...ummm...Edge? SPEAR MANIA!!!!
MooreMark Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Brock Vs Goldberg Hulk Hogan Vs SCSA Jericho Vs Booker T Benoit Vs Rock Rey Misterio Vs RVD Undertaker Vs Hurricane (Hurricane wins and Taker retires.) Christian Vs Eddy Gurrero Vs Matt Hardy (Some title is revived for this.) Team Angle Vs The Dudleys Vs Shannon Moore and Brian Kendrick Gimmick Battle Royal 2 HBK, Diesel, Big Show, alll the crap in here.
Guest Pigsy Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 They'd need to bring back one of those cartoonishly unrealistic WWF heels for Hogan. How about the Big Show?
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Sure, Big Show would work. I was thinking of those heels back in the big boom period that were like living cliches and stereotypes, but so many of them are retired. The youngest one I can think of is, sadly, Mr. Perfect. DAMNIT HENNIG WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO DO THAT?
Guest Choken One Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 We could just bring back, Bundy, Earthquake, Akeem, Bossman, Haku and just let Hogan fight them for the next year and Then he can go over TBS in a HOGAN/Andre II type of deal... Works for me...
Guest Memoirs of an Invisible Chevy Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Angle vs. John Cena (World Title) Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon Flair vs. Piper vs. Savage vs. Hogan (4 man elimination match) Eddie vs. Chris Benoit (this time with an actual build up) Steve Austin vs. Goldberg The Rock vs. Chris Jericho (Raw Title, Jericho as a face) Jamie Noble vs. Rey Mysterio (Cruiserweight) Shawn Michaels vs. Brian Kendrick Kevin Nash vs. Booker T Team Angle vs. Dudley Boyz (No DQ) Edge vs. Rhyno Scott Steiner vs. Sting Taker vs. Funaki I fully expect Trips to be injured this time around. Taker fights Funaki simply to keep streak going.
Guest converge241 Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 damn im usually all for stuff like this but i think the WWE might look so different by next year with the age and injuries of some of the top players so its tough to guess ill try it will be Taker's last match and i would actually have him win cause his second last WM (this past one would have been it) is the one that you want to give the rub of the streak maybe it will be him vs Jones with a years worth of buildup (cause WWE will still be afraid to have him wrestle) just joking about that Jones part but yeah Takers last match WMXX Rock has already said he wants a Goldberg rematch at the event,so maybe that , could be a condition of him returning (if the movie career continues doing well) if not Rock- Goldberg maybe Rock-HHH they never had a one on one WM match and its been a while since their last one on one US PPV encounter
Guest Choken One Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 It's a year from now, so we can't tell... Last year most of us were adament it was going to be HHH/Austin...We got HHH/Booker instead and Lesnar was seemingly thought to kill Taker's streak...Instead Brock won the Main event...Taker pretty much jerked the card with two slabs of meat. Right now we're thinking Austin/Lesnar or Benoit/Austin... That means we get Lesnar/Edge instead...
