Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 23, 2003 Hmmm- I was debating that one but aren't Oakland and San Fran basically right next to each other? My picks- Devils in 5 Ottawa in 7 Dallas in 7 Vancouver in

My picks- Devils in 5 Ottawa in 7 Dallas in 7 Vancouver in 6 You have to cross the Golden Gate Bridge to get between the two, but I think it's a fair distance by land - maybe an hour? If there was no traffic it's about 25-35 mins. With average traffic it's 45 mins. to an hour. I have family out there.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 23, 2003 TWolves/Wild Mavericks/Stars Nets/Devils Flyers/76ers Those 4 teams have a shot at the NBA/NHL championships. I wonder if any city will ever be able to claim both in one year?
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted April 23, 2003 Well, if you count Anaheim as part of Los Angeles, they have a shot at winning three titles in one year, which would be a sweep for them, considering they have no NFL franchise.
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted April 24, 2003 The Mets won in 1986 and the Giants won the 1986 season but the Super Bowl was in 1987. Does it really count if the Giants play in New Jersey? Well they're called the New York Giants and have NY on their helmets- so I'll allow it I suppose so. I'm just being nitpicky. Nitpicky again, but A's and 49ers? I realize that Oakland and San Francisco are right across the bay from each other, but come on!! I just merge Oakland, San Francisco, and San Jose into one Bay Area market, accurately or not.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted April 24, 2003 predictions: Dallas vs Anaheim: Dallas in 6. Gigure is good, and will bail the team out from big trouble. But I think the first two games will be costly for Anaheim, since they haven't been on the ice for a long time. Vancouver vs Minnesota: Minnesota in 7. Something tells me that Lemaire's Trap will neutralize the Nucks. This series is not going to be a high scoring series, and I expect a lot of OT. Ottawa vs Phili: Ottawa in 5. I see some how, Phili will combust again, even though Cechmanik will not be able to bail them out, Phili will not solve Lalime or the Senators. New Jersey vs Tampa Bay: Tampa in 6. New Jersey will take the team lightly, and in the first few games TB will make Jersey look bad. Brodeur can play magnificant, but Khabiulin will stop all rubber he will face. Guest HBK16 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Since this game is the longest Ducks overtime and the 3rd longest Stars over time in history it got me thinking. Anyone know the game with the most over times? Is there a time where they stop and do a shoot out?

Anyone know the game with the most over times? Is there a time where they stop and do a shoot out? I think there was a Habs-Bruins game that went 6OTs, but don't quote me on that. And no, there is no shootout. They play until someone scores...

Guest starvenger Report post Posted April 25, 2003 I looked it up- Detroit v. Montreal Maroons in 1936 went 176 minutes and lasted 6OTs I went to a records site and it lists it as 116:30-Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Maroons, Mar 24-25, 1936. Whichever way, it's still 6 OTs...
