Guest bob_barron Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Well Vancouver got their ass kicked. They were playing just fine and then the Wild got some quick goals and it all fell apart. I'm hoping the Wild blew their load in one game and the Canucks can use their playoff experience and veteran leadership to rally back
Guest CanadianChris Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 I'm hoping the Wild blew their load in one game and the Canucks can use their playoff experience and veteran leadership to rally back WHAT???? Other than Linden, how many of these guys have significantly more playoff experience that the Wild? The Canucks are where the Avs were last round, except Colorado at least knew how to put a team away (even though they didn't). The Canucks could very well be screwed here.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 I hope the Nucks are screwed. I'd rather watch an Anaheim v. Minnesota Western final than a Vancouver v. Anaheim. The way I see it is that Anaheim and Minnesota aren't going to be in this spot next year at this time. I'd rather see them get a shot while they have it, rather than Vancouver who is built well for a few more years.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 I hope the Nucks are screwed. I'd rather watch an Anaheim v. Minnesota Western final than a Vancouver v. Anaheim. Yeah, if it's all West Coast, the games won't start until 9 or 9:30 in Chicago. At least Minnesota will keep things reasonable. That being said, I'm going for Vancouver anyway so that we get an all-Canadian final to screw Gary Bettman over.
Guest HBK16 Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 I missed the Ducks/Stars game live so I stayed up last night for the replay. I forced myself not to read the highlights cuz I actually wanted to watch the game without knowing who won. I was pretty pissed off the Ducks won. I hate the Ducks with passion. If there is one team I cant stand to see win its the Ducks. When they reviewed the third goal I was about to knock down my entertainment system. I was pissed. Thank God they counted it. I would have gone on a fucking rampage. The Ducks scored with 1:06 left!!!! FUCK!!! That game pissed me off is soo many ways. I mean I hate the Red Wings, I hate the Avs, I hate the Rangers, but I dont really care if they win, but if the Ducks go all the way, I swear I will kill myself. Thanks for listening to me in this very difficult time. I wouldnt have been so mad if all my teams lost. Toronto, Flyers. The two teams I actually wanted to see go all the way. The only team left to cheer for are the Senators now. And may God have mercy on my soul if they dont win..
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 I'm loving the Ducks winning because it's great news for the talented small market teams in the NHL. Not to mention, the quality of hockey is fantastic.
Guest CanadianChris Posted May 7, 2003 Report Posted May 7, 2003 HBK, I think you may be the first person outside of Anaheim to give a flying fuck about the Ducks one way or the other. My heart wants an Ottawa-Vancouver final, but an Ottawa-Anaheim final will pretty much guarantee me first place in my playoff pool, so I'm a bit torn.
Guest HBK16 Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 As long as I see Ottawa skate with the cup I will be happy.
Guest CanadianChris Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 As long as I see Ottawa skate with the cup I will be happy. Let me buy you a beer.
Guest HBK16 Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 I knew you'd agree with me after taking a look at your sig.
Guest CanadianChris Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 1-0 Minny...this is looking like the Avalanche series all over again.
Guest CanadianChris Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 3-0. I think I see what appears to be a large salad fork sticking out of Dan Cloutier's back.
Paul Stanley Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Wild bitch slappin the Canucks again. Hate to say i told you so.
Guest CanadianChris Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 5-1. 12 goals in 2 games? Cloutier's going to be a wreck for Game 7.
Guest Grenouille Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Why does Crawford leave Cloutier in after getting drubbed again?
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 This is obvious: ABC Prays for No All-Canada Stanley Cup Expected low ratings for a possible all-Canada Stanley Cup could prove to be a disaster for professional hockey, the Toronto Star observed today (Wednesday). Noting that the playoffs have been attracting audiences only slightly better than arena football in the U.S., the newspaper observed that if Vancouver and Ottawa wind up as the final contenders, the NHL championship "could challenge the late, unlamented XFL as the lowest-rated primetime sports broadcast ever." It further noted that ABC's $600-million deal with the NHL comes up for renewal next year and that such a ratings result could put the renewal in peril.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Would putting Anaheim or Minnesota in instead of an all Canada finals really change the ratings?
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Can Minnesota really pull this one out of the bag? I mean, I was happy as hell that they beat Colorado, but can they come back from 3-1 AGAIN?! I think they can. Vancouver has proven that they can fire a lot of shots, and that they can't cover/catch most of the Wild players. Minnesota v. Anaheim in the conference finals? Who'da thunk it?!
Urban Warfare Posted May 8, 2003 Author Report Posted May 8, 2003 i know this sounds insane but crawford should play auld. he is clearly better, and cloutier just sucks now. how about that offside? if that goal doesnt happen, its a whole new game.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Why does Crawford leave Cloutier in after getting drubbed again? I'd assume. Crawford plans on starting Cloutier in Game 7, and wants him to get a little bit of confidence back before Game 7.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 i know this sounds insane but crawford should play auld. he is clearly better, and cloutier just sucks now. how about that offside? if that goal doesnt happen, its a whole new game. Wasn't offside. ESPN slowed it down, he had one foot on the blueline. The play was onside.
Guest LaParkaMarka Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Well, that sure was depressing. Win or lose tomorrow, there's probably going to be a riot in Vancouver. LaParkaMarka needs a new DVD player.
Guest treble charged Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 What will the people out west have to talk about now? That seemed to be the only thing that was going on out there last week.
