Guest CanadianChris Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Grapes is going NUTS over all the chintzy penalties against the Oilers. Bah, Don Cherry's a rednecked xenophobic idiot. Maybe, but he's got a point here...all those penalties were pretty cheap, especially for the playoffs.
Guest treble charged Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 That goaltender interference penalty called on Moreau was a HORRIBLE call. And, am I the only one getting shitty sound on CBC?
Guest treble charged Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Thanks. Man, the refs aren't letting these guys play at all.
Guest CanadianChris Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Did anyone else hear that "Saaaa-loooo" chant in Dallas and think they were chanting "Asshole?"
Urban Warfare Posted April 12, 2003 Author Report Posted April 12, 2003 for fuck sakes. what a goal, though
Guest treble charged Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Well, this game sure isn't living up to my expectations.
Guest HartFan86 Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Did anyone else hear that "Saaaa-loooo" chant in Dallas and think they were chanting "Asshole?" I was flicking the channels, came upon ESPN, and was like "What the hell?" I should so watch hockey more.
Guest the pinjockey Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Just got back from the Flyers game just wanted to say WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That game ruled all.
Guest CanadianChris Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Well, this game sure isn't living up to my expectations. Yeah, no kidding. I'd turn it off and go to bed, but I'm waiting for the Super 7 numbers to be announced.
Guest CanadianChris Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 On the up side, I have Modano and Arnott in my playoff pool. They're the only two playing tonight, and they've doubled my point total by themselves
Guest treble charged Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Fuck. Not a good night for the Canadian teams.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The Philadelphia Flyers dominated the Toronto Maple Leafs for the second straight game. This time, they did it on the scoreboard, too. That quote just about sums it all up doesn't it? For the second straight game Toronto came out as firey as warm milk, this time however they didn't get lucky. I'm holding off on boasting that Toronto has no chance till I see Philly play in Toronto though. Till then: "Let's go Flyers! (Clap Clap ClapClapClap)"
Guest the pinjockey Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Quick question to people who watched the Flyers/Leafs, did the big time USA chants in the 2nd period make it to TV?
Urban Warfare Posted April 12, 2003 Author Report Posted April 12, 2003 yeah it did on cbc, and the announcers saluted the troops, also
Guest the pinjockey Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 They did actually show what the cheers were for then? I am kind of glad otherwise it would seem really odd that a random USA chant started.
Guest treble charged Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Anyone think Cross will get suspended for that high stick? If Goddard (sp?) got 2 games for what he did, I can't see Cross really getting any less, as his looked a lot worse.
Urban Warfare Posted April 12, 2003 Author Report Posted April 12, 2003 yes. they mentioned something about the troops on the intercom, and then the chant.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Didn't Montreal boo the American national anthem once this year, and then the next game they were in Philly and Philly booed the Candian national anthem and threw stuff at them? I remember reading something like that. If it's true then it's the 4th best Philly hockey moment in history: Right behind the 2 Stanley Cups and when we were the ONLY NHL team to HAND THE SOVIET TEAM THEIR ASSES. Yeah...Fuck Iran.
Guest treble charged Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 What's the 4th greatest moment? Booing the anthem? Wow, what a thing to be proud of.
Guest the pinjockey Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 I thought it was NY (Islanders IIRC) that booed the anthem after the Montreal incident. There were about a 50 or so people tonight that booed the canadian anthem but they got clapped out or shouted down by people around them.
Urban Warfare Posted April 12, 2003 Author Report Posted April 12, 2003 i dont understand why the ref is calling penalties, in a 6-1 game
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 What's the 4th greatest moment? Booing the anthem? Wow, what a thing to be proud of. Well we had two reasons: 1. We were drunk and wanted hockey...not music. 2. You booed our's first. I also thought it was clear that I WAS JOKING. But I have to admit to laughing my ass off at Montreal get their comeuppance in Philly of all places. Coulda been worse...They could have played the Rangers.
Guest treble charged Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 I know the Islander fans booed the anthem last year during the Leafs series, but I haven't heard anything about them doing it this year. It's such a stupid thing to do, for both countries.

See, I was out of the country when it happened so I have no clue. I was in the homeland. (Ireland.)
Urban Warfare Posted April 12, 2003 Author Report Posted April 12, 2003 holy shit what the fuck is with the pointless calls. there has been 37 calls tonight make it 38
Guest treble charged Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 That game sure turned to suck.
