Guest starvenger Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 Cujo wanted to be like Vernon and Hasek, and right now he's playing like Osgood. He's capable of much better. But fuck him, he left the Leafs, I hope he does lose the series. Joseph has never been great. The Toronto media does a wonderful job of building up their stars to be better than they actually are. Yeah, he has. Ask the people in St. Louis and Edmonton... What did he do for them? Nothing, both of those squads choked under his play. He is a nothing, sad to say. What has he ever done? What awards has ever won? I'll compare him to a glorified Osgood. Singlehandedly won several series for the Leafs. If he hadn't played like he did, the Leafs never would have made it to the conference finals last year. Don't forget that the Leafs' D was poor and that they were relying on 'star' players like Paul Healey and Alex Ponikarovsky by the time they played the 'Canes. Now here's a question: if Joseph is as bad as you say, then what are the excuses Ottawa and the Isles have for losing?
Guest CanadianChris Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 Jim Lampley has nothing on Bob Cole.
Guest CanadianChris Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 Now here's a question: if Joseph is as bad as you say, then what are the excuses Ottawa and the Isles have for losing? We lost our best defenceman and one of our top forwards in Game 5. If Chara plays, Rachunek is never on the ice to cut Domi open and let the Leafs back into Game 6.
Guest treble charged Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 Joesph has won series by himself, pretty much, though. Like both of the series he won with Edmonton and against Ottawa last year. To put him in the same league as Chris Osgood is absurd. judging by today's performance, i dont think joseph can be compared to any of the top goalies in the league. you cant say that he has been the same joseph that was with the leafs last year. I didn't see today's game, but he didn't play bad in game 1, it's just that Giguere played awesome. I mean, Giguere has stopped 97 of 100 shots so far in that series, hard for ANYONE to win if you're playing against a goalie who's playing like that (and even then, the Wings came within an inch or so of winning game 1, with Robitaille hitting the post). And Joseph had bad games in the playoffs with the Leafs last year, too (the game on Long Island where he got pulled), he's just never really played against a goalie who's playing as well as Giguere is right now.
Guest treble charged Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 I also wonder why the Sens traded for Rob Ray to get more toughness, but he's not playing.

Guest Choken One Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 I hate Hockey and avoid it like the Plauge unless it's 10 Overtimes in a Game Seven in The finals and then I might listen to it as background noise but I thought I should ask you guys...I placed a Bet with a Guy for $10 that Washington wins the Stanley cup... Did I lose My 10 dollars?
Urban Warfare Posted April 13, 2003 Author Report Posted April 13, 2003 no, they are up 2-0 in the series against tampa, heading home
Guest treble charged Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 Do they usually do that for the anthem at Canucks games, because that was fucking awesome.
Guest CanadianChris Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 I placed a Bet with a Guy for $10 that Washington wins the Stanley cup... Did I lose My 10 dollars? Boy, did you ever.
Guest CanadianChris Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 Do they usually do that for the anthem at Canucks games, because that was fucking awesome. No shit. Being someone who ALWAYS sings the anthem, I'd love to be there for that live.
Urban Warfare Posted April 13, 2003 Author Report Posted April 13, 2003 1-0 canucks on a goal by klatt
Guest Choken One Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 I placed a Bet with a Guy for $10 that Washington wins the Stanley cup... Did I lose My 10 dollars? Boy, did you ever. Shit. I thought they were ahead 2-0...Are they good at ALL? I don't even know what Seed they are...I don't even know the Nickname..I think's Capitals or Sabres or something...

Yeah, the Capitals are ahead 2-0, but if they win this series, they likely have to go play the best team in the league, which bitch-slapped them on their own ice not two weeks ago. And they're the #6 seed in the East.
Guest Choken One Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 and the best team? Detroit? I DON'T KNOW DAMN IT!
Guest CanadianChris Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 and the best team? Detroit? I DON'T KNOW DAMN IT! Sorry, that would be Ottawa.
Urban Warfare Posted April 13, 2003 Author Report Posted April 13, 2003 Al Macinis will be out for at least the rest of this game. what a huge blow to the blues
Guest starvenger Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 and the best team? Detroit? I DON'T KNOW DAMN IT! Sorry, that would be Ottawa. Well, they have a President's trophy to prove that, I guess. Although I'm guessing that the Sens players are spouting off the usual cliches about THEM actually being the underdogs etc.
Guest edge-o-matic Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 Al Macinis will be out for at least the rest of this game. what a huge blow to the blues Dagnabbit, he's a pick in my pool! *shakes fist* It's bad enough that I picked Wade Belak for some stupid reason...
Urban Warfare Posted April 13, 2003 Author Report Posted April 13, 2003 2-0 canucks. Jovonavski scores
Guest redbaron51 Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 lately whoever wins the presidents cup, wins the Stanley Cup. But go back when the President Cup was started, that trend is not good.
Guest LaParkaMarka Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 No, he did quite well. Nice gutsy win for the Nucks. Coutier played great...let's see if he can keep it up. And was I the only one thinking Nash was going to tear his quad somehow?

Guest CanadianChick Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 Thank god Canucks won...when's their next game, btw?
Guest MaxPower27 Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 I'm thinking Monday I love the Ducks winning

Washington, as #6, should be entitled to the winner of New Jersey-Boston, not Ottawa. Re-seeding is a bad bad thing.
