Guest Showstoppa Icon Report post Posted April 7, 2003 Note: As with his other columns, the following was sent to the site by someone who told us that he is a very frustrated, current WWE wrestler. He said that he did not want to reveal his name to us, for obvious reasons. So, even if he isn't a current WWE wrestler (and we have no way to corroborate whether he is or isn't, so we are treating him as simply another columnist), the readers enjoyed the columns and asked us to run more. He wanted to write some more, readers wanted to read some more, so here is the latest from "Willie The Worker" --- Buck Woodward Triple H recently did an interview on WWE.com talking about the younger wrestlers being frustrated with their current pushes. I found it really funny the answer he gave to that question and I wanted to debate what he said. The following below in the bold letters is what he said and my response follows that. H:My advice would be to not worry about other guys, worry about yourself. W:I agree completely. H:This company can't strap a rocket on somebody who is not ready for it, no matter what. But a talent can strap a rocket on himself whether the office is ready to push him or not, and get himself over. It doesn't work the other way around. W:Oh really Hunter? Geez, I can think of several talents that have strapped a rocket on themselves and the office still doesn't get behind them and pushes them. RVD is the perfect example. The guy is mega over with the audience, yet for some reason the higher-ups just don't seem to care. Rob gets a bigger reaction than almost anyone on either roster, yet he wasn't a part of WrestleMania. If you think that he's "getting a big push" because he's the Raw tag team champion, those titles mean squat. While I think RVD and Kane are good as a team, both men should be singles wrestlers and Rob should be on the top of the company. But you have defeated him so many times already and made him look like such s**t that you can't even work a program with him anymore. Maybe that's why he's not getting a push? How about Booker? He's been over huge for a very long time now and finally he got a good push. You were supposed to do the right thing and put him over for the belt at Mania, but instead you decided that you wanted to keep the title so you can work your buddy Goldberg. But hey Hunter, you did the right thing by "letting" Booker pin you on the big tag team match on Raw two weeks ago. How about someone like Jeff Hardy? He gets a super reaction when coming out every week, yet he's always put in meaningless matches against guys like Steven Richards. This guy can be the future of our company, but instead he's treated like a jabronie. But hey, your excuse is that his heart isn't into the business right now and that's why he's not getting a push, right? Yeah, okay. How about maybe because he knows how over he is and how big of a star he could be here and instead he's an opening card wrestler? Please Hunter, don't talk about getting a push whether the office wants to give it to you or not. That's B.S. and you know it. H:I think there's become an attitude in our business -- some people will criticize me for saying this, probably -- where guys say, "This is bulls***. When's my turn?" It's not about getting a turn. Not everybody gets a turn. It's about making your opportunity. That's a fact; that's the way it is. When Rocky was the most un-over guy in this company, they turned him heel because they had no choice, but The Rock, Dwayne Johnson, then took that heel turn and developed a character that fans just ate up. He did that. The same thing with Austin. That's just the facts. That's how you do it. W:All the guys I listed above have and are trying to make that opportunity. What else could guys like Booker and Rob do? They have all the tools and the crowd connects with them. They are being held back and it's someone like you that is doing the holding back. God forbid someone is more over than you, right Hunter? I respect the hell out of you and I am a huge fan of your work, but this interview you have done has really pissed me off. How did you get your opportunity Hunter? You were an "okay" at best worker when you were doing your first gimmick when you got here. How did you break away from all the other mid-carders? You were friends with the right people. The gimmick you were put into (DX) took off big time. Now, you're one of the McMahons. So don't talk about making an opportunity for yourself, because many are trying and the door is getting slammed right in their faces. There's no question you are one of the best workers in this business today. Hell, you might be the best. But you have also been handed a lot of things on a silver platter. To sum it all up, your interview was a bunch of political B.S. Willie The Worker [email protected]

Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 7, 2003 It was cool and intersting at first but since Scots pretty much outed himself...It's stupid trite bullshit that only served to make us look bad with all our accustations...

Guest RenegadeX28 Report post Posted April 7, 2003 Well, Willie just mentioned RVD. He can't be RVD then. Why would he mention himself? I think this is just some guy trying to get publicity......

Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2003 How about someone like Jeff Hardy? He gets a super reaction when coming out every week, yet he's always put in meaningless matches against guys like Steven Richards. Super reaction? Umm...excuse me?!? He gets a minimal reaction at best, and most of it's from the teeny chicks. And Stevie has totally carried any match they've had by basically bumping his ass off for the Paint-By-Numbers freak. Not to mention one of Jeff's sloppy-as-hell kicks busted Stevie's lip once.
Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted April 7, 2003 Well, Willie just mentioned RVD. He can't be RVD then. Why would he mention himself? Maybe, if Willie is actually RVD, he's doing it just to try and throw people off.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 7, 2003 I have concluded that this is nothing more than bullshit from a fan. My guess is either Brian, Ruddo, or Cury.

I hate to admit it but whoever Willie is knows what he's talking about with Jeff, he still is pretty damn over and gets an impressive pop when he comes out, like him or not. Unlike most of the WWE decisions though, I can understand why Jeff is kept in midcard hell at best......he just doesn't have the work ethic to demand a push at this point. Guest Kid Kablam Report post Posted April 7, 2003 I think it's funny that Willie goes out of his way to focus on the two people that people have suspected. I mean come on. That screams work to me. If I didn't think it was bullshit before, this has cemented such judgement in my mind
Guest RedJed Report post Posted April 7, 2003 Hell, I could still see this as legitimately done by a worker, and if you ask me all the hate for HHH even narrows it down further for it to possibly be Van Dam, since he truly was fucked over and buried from his program (or whatever it was) with HHH. Keep in mind a guy like Van Dam isn't the smartest guy likely in the first place, so it's not like he may have thought something was too obvious or not, etc.

Bored 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2003 I love people say Scotsman busted himself because one problem...Scotsman rarely ever watches wrestling anymore and he himself is more of a mark when it comes down to it than a smark so there is no chance he wrote it.
