I went to an old navy while i was on holiday, and i thought it was pretty damn good. I wish we had some over here in the UK? I got some kick arse jeans for $20 (about £14) which is incredibly cheap in comparison to English prices.

Having never heard of it before, I wouldnt know, but how fashionable a label is it? I mean if Versace was 10 and Wal mart was 0, what would Old Navy be? (Im not sure what cheap un-fashionable labels you guys have in the states, so feel free to switch walmart with another company, it was just to give you an idea of what I meant) :)

Wait...There are Wal-Marts in other countries? You poor bastards

I'd say they'd be a 3 or 4

BUT Abercrombie has all the hotties and hotties dig Abercrombie :D

Screw the "hotties" and way overpriced clothes. I'd rather keep my individuality and spend the money I save on something better than clothes.

Clothes suck, I'd rather spend money on DVDs and electronics...something that's worth my money.

Really? I thought it would be higher, shows what fashion sense I have :D

We sort of have Wal Mart over here in England. We call it Asda, but its owned by the same company apparently. All of the Roll back schemes and company colours/logos are pretty similar. Except we have to pay more for just about everything lol.

Well I don't have very much personal fashion sense either.

Well walmart type places are below the nicer department store type places which are below Old Navy. However, Old Navy is right below mall clothes stores which are 2 or 3 notches under Versace.

So Old Navy is probably a 5, maybe as high as a 6.

What's kinda funny is that most people consider the GAP's clothes to be better quality than ours (Old Navy's), and yet they're made in the same place, by the same people and machines, with the same materials, etc. Ours just happen to be cheaper. Funny how a price tag can effect people's perception of quality.

Hey, sometimes you HAVE to have a 3-button polo instead of a 2-button polo.

Of course, you can say the same about some of the stuff at Banana Republic as well.

Y'know, I'm not sure if we have two-button polos or not, come to think of it (I do believe most of them are three--the one I put on the mannequin last night was). So, yeah...sometimes you just gotta have one button less (or more).

Also, Banana Republic is also owned by GAP, Inc. That's why I find all of this so damned funny. If you were to put the three stores on a tier, Old Navy would be at the bottom, GAP in the middle, and Banana Republic on the top, and yet the clothes all come from the exact same place, etc. They just come with a different price tag.

And on a side note, a GAP employee came through my line the other day and actually told my manager and I that she likes Old Navy clothes better than GAP's clothes. We found that to be funny.

Im with you now lol.

Sort of like, you wouldnt get laughed at in the street for wearing Old Navy, but you wouldnt get fashion writters coming up to you and complimenting you on what your wearing either :D

lol

It probably has something to do with the fact that Old Navy tends to "stick to the basics" while Gap can have some... interesting variations to things (such as pink polos(?!) for guys).

Stardust, since you work at Old Navy, have you done any "empirical testing" on those stain/wrinkle resistant khakis yet? Just curious.

I personally haven't, but I'm sure someone up in corporate has (they do some weird stuff, those corporate folks). And we don't have the stain resistant/wrinkle free khakis anyway (at least not that I'm aware of--some second tier and first tier stores might, but we don't). I have, however, always wondered if those stain resistant/wrinkle free khakis do in fact work the way the commercials say they do. I just have problems believing that something that's made mostly out of cotton isn't gonna wrinkle.

I see lots of hotties at Old Navy. In fact, that's what we talk about on the headsets. :D
