The Robfather 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2003 When will the WWE realize that fans hate WCW crap? nWo, Scott Steiner, and now Goldberg. WWE fans hate them all. And does the WWE actually think fans will boo Rock when he wrestles Goldberg? Come on, fans consider Goldberg the posterboy of WCW; there's no way fans will cheer him over a WWE guy. Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted April 8, 2003 Fans don't hate Goldberg. His segment and Rock/Hardy drew the largest rating of the night. They just dont care about any of the other crap going on.
NYU 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2003 Austin & Rock provided a short term boost. That suggests that people were interested in them, but when they saw what was actually happening they didn't care for it and turned it off. The ratings now suggest that people don't give a shit about Goldberg at all, other than those that are already watching. Seriously, that is one of the most intelligent things I've read today. The ratings DID go up for Rock and Austin. Coincidence ? No. People DID want to see them again. But just nothing drew them to stay. We had meaningless matches like Maven vs. Rico, with absolutely no reason behind them. We didn't have any extra-compelling storylines to keep fans interested. Vince served shit, hoping that a pile of shit with a side of Rock and Austin would keep the fans interested. But, of course, this didn't happen. Some people tried to come back, Vince bored them once again, and they left. He only has himself to blame. And as for Goldberg, he once again has a point. If people cared about Goldberg, the ratings should have gone UP this week. Then, if the product sucked, they would have gone down next week. But they didn't go up...they went down. You can blame this on the NCAA finals but if people were really ENTHRALLED by the return of Goldberg, and wanting to see what happened, it would have gotten higher than a 4.0 rating. That's all there is to it. Goldberg will not bring the ratings Vince wants, and it's time he realizes that.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 8, 2003 March 30th: (WM) Goldberg is announced to be signed. WM is supposed to be the most watched WWE live PPV event of the year. March 31st: (Raw) Goldberg debuts after what is supposedly the biggest show of the year on a show that supposedly should get high ratings as it is a post-ppv event. March 7th: (Raw) After a week where fans should be telling their friends, family, and anyone who would listen (including former WCW fans) that Goldberg is back (after all, he is this 'huge name') the rating goes down. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted April 9, 2003 Fans don't hate Goldberg. His segment and Rock/Hardy drew the largest rating of the night. They just dont care about any of the other crap going on. People may tune in for Goldberg, but that doesn't mean he won't quickly fall into the Negative Heat category. MSG went nuts for Steiner too, remember.
Guest JDMattitudeV1 Report post Posted April 9, 2003 To quote Jerry Seinfeld "that's a shame." The WWE's transformation into WCW continues, and it is only going to get worse with the return of Kevin Nash last night. Seriously Vince should have taken a look at the ratings these "draws" drew back in WCW, before deciding to hire them and push them. After years of WWE taking the piss out of these guys they now expect fans to watch them in the main event. I think they will be in the 2.0s within the next couple of months. Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted April 9, 2003 The NCAA Championship game was on - next week we can't blame anything, so until then I'll reserve judgment TV Ratings Down for NCAA Tournament - Yahoo! News
Guest DawnBTVS Report post Posted April 9, 2003 I think they will be in the 2.0s within the next couple of months. Know what's funny...people always say that and it never happens. I wouldn't be surprised if they hit 2.9 or even 3.0 when Rock leaves though. Also Austin's "firing" probably didn't help keep viewers either.

If they didn't keep bringing in new people yet did the same old shit, we'd have been in the high 2s by now. They came damn close after the Katie Vick business because it dropped to the low 3s by the next week and kept inching lower.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted April 9, 2003 I don't mean to repeat myself, but for the sake of the conversation. What the hell does Vince expect when he used the entire INVASION angle to bury WCW's name and credible workers and reduced them to dirt, now he is calling on them to save his company. Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted April 9, 2003 Bah, the only that matters is ME... My Enjoyment. Yeah, seriously. I was watching some 1997 WWF last night. That shit was good, and ratings blew then too. The main event scene in 1997 was DAMN great. Today's ME scene of the past year or so can't even hold a candle to that era. Goldberg's return was highly publicized first on the internet (in which the smarks passed it on via word-of-mouth to the marks), then on television throughout Wrestlemania. It was also blatantly obvious he was coming on Raw, judging from the crowd's overrated reaction. Despite what people may believe, the fans are seriously tired of rehiring and rehashing old stars. Bringing back the WCW workers will not signal the spark of the next era. Building up young guys (Jericho, Brock, Angle, Cena) to go over the mainstream guys (Austin, Rock, Undertaker, HHH) is the way.

And i bet you got this info from 1bob.com.home of Willie the worker and fake news, if people wanted to see Goldberg they would've watched the whole show to see what happens next, if people wanted to see Goldberg years ago then WCW would've still be on tv.Goldberg is nothing more than a waste of money, just like Nash and Steiner.
