Bored 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2003 Woo hoo Nathan Jones bringing the workrate by stealing Test's finisher, awesome! You know I hate to admit but the Piper's Pit segment actually sounds pretty cool. Great another lesbian angle...you know what they have to do next...RESURRECT AL WILSON!!! What you people can't wait for Taker/Jones squash of the F.B.I. in a handicap match at Backlash? Taker still needs to lay some more punishment into Palumbo for not sucking Droz's dick or whatever it was.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted April 9, 2003 Velocity Spoilers Dark Matches Sean O'Haire over a jobber (Observers guesses it's a maskless Shark Boy). O'Haire came to ring in a black leather trenchcoat, used Razor's Edge as finisher. Kanyon over a jobber. Great to see Kanyon back and wrestling, got a decent response from the crowd. Velocity Tajiri beats Shannon Moore. A-Train beats Chad Collyer. FBI over Los Guerreros and Funaki. Really good.
Guest Nanks Report post Posted April 9, 2003 Uh oh, Los Guerreros went down on Velocity. This shan't be pretty. On the SD! side of things: Piper's Pit sounded great, they had to have Vince in the first segment to explain a re-emergence after 14 years. And they already partially put over Sean O'Haire in the first one. And at least they seem to have found some form of motivation for Rikishi other than he enjoys people's heads in his ass. It really does seem a shame that it took 4 people and a ref bump for Cena to pin Taker, isn't he having surgery really soon?? I realise there's a story link with the Taker/Jones v FBI thing but putting over the WWE World Championship belt contender wasn't more important?? At least the writing's becoming a little more realistic though, I'd have told Torrie to come get her towel too.
Guest Y2DAYDAY Report post Posted April 9, 2003 The Taker vs Cena finish was the right finish. It puts heat on the FBI, who they are apparently giving a shove to. All of Undertaker's clean jobs should be saved for PPV and big matches situation so when he does lose clean, it means more, i.e. Lesnar vs Taker Hell in the Cell. It is worthless to waste it on a TV match Plus if Cena beat him clean, he'd be stuck in a program with Taker and would have to return the win clean. I like how some people think they know everything but don't really know much at all.
Guest Nanks Report post Posted April 9, 2003 I certainly wasn't implying I knew everything. I was suggesting that perhaps it would be more important to make the challenger to the World Title look good than to put over a feud between Taker and FBI. In fact, you could theoretically do both at once. After Cena beats Taker with the DVD, then have FBI come down and rub salt in the wound. They had a mini Taker v Cena build up with a couple of interviews and having Cena come out of the "feud" clean would surely be beneficial to his push as challenger as it would seem Benoit and Rhyno will peel off to their own feud. I like how some people think their way is the only way, when it really isn't the case at all.
Guest Sakura Report post Posted April 9, 2003 There's no way Cena should be going over The Undertaker, or any other main event guy, CLEAN. Especially since he's a heel. That said, a stable beating him up AND a ref bump is just lame. He should have won on his own, but with cheating. A chair shot, low blow, holding the ropes, exposed turnbuckle, any of those followed by a DVD would be a good finish.

Guest nikowwf Report post Posted April 9, 2003 I love how people say WELL, HE SHOULDN'T BEAT UNDERTAKER CLEAN. Well, then he shouldn't be fighting Undertaker, because putting over a new guy in such a half ass way, and then sticking him in the main even of a PPV is not doing anyone any favors. He doesn't HAVE to return the job to Undertaker too...why should he? its not a feud, he beat Undertaker in a tournament. Taker can lose clean, take time off, come back and still be at the same level, but Cena can't move up with fluke wins where he gets killed. niko

I like how some people think they know everything but don't really know much at all. Oh and you're Mr. Wrestling? Making Cena look like a pussy against Taker is absolutely moronic when he's most likely going to face Brock Lesnar at Backlash. The goal is to make the fans think Cena has a hope in hell and if he needs help to beat the Undertaker (a guy who Brock beat cleanly in his own match as a heel) then people aren't gonna think he has a chance and aren't gonna shell out $35 to see the match. What makes Undertaker so special that he doesn't have to job clean on TV? Hogan jobbed clean on TV to Lesnar and it was built up huge. Undertaker is no different and he should've done the clean job (or relatively clean) to Cena.

B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2003 The bad thing about Benoit/Cena is that Benoit will make him look like a million bucks, only to have Cena disappoint at the PPV, should he go over our Savior.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 9, 2003 Cena had a pretty good match against Brock a couple weeks ago so I don't see him dissapointing at Backlash. What's wrong with Benoit making Cena look really good in preparation for his title match? That's his job
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 9, 2003 I'm expecting them to Have Cena/Lesnar go two months so Expect Cena to look good but lose in Dusty Way...and then WWE builds it for Brock to have another hard battle and then he squashes him at J.D I am still not sure who they plan on feeding Lesnar for the summer program...My Heart says Benoit but my guts say Undertaker. If Austin wasn't fucked up...I'd Say have them over the Summer and have the big match at Summerslam...Although i FEEL it's a Mania match for sure...but they did Shawn/Bret before and UT/SID, Austin/Shawn before so having a rematch wouldn't hurt the Mania match... I agree--what's with this bullshit about Taker looking like it takes half a dozen guys to beat him? This isn't the Taker/Yoko casket match from 9 years ago, so he has no excuse. A win after some basic cheating should be enough, but noooo. I wish they'd have told him to job that way, so Taker would throw a shit-fit and go home. That being said, I don't even give a shit about Cena, but that's still retarded booking.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 9, 2003 My only beef was...They really should've had Cena still pick Taker up for the FU. At least for the video they can show him FUING Rikishi, Undertaker and him fighting out the Crossface and make him look impossible to put down...instead you just got him laying over a knocked out taker... Guest Y2DAYDAY Report post Posted April 10, 2003 It is still retarded for Cena to beat Undertaker clean. Look at it this way: What is a heel who never needs help from anyone to win and always wins clean? Answer: A babyface. You cannot turn Cena face right now. First off, he is a natural heel. Secondly, Lesnar,Angle, and Taker are the top guys on the show and all are babyfaces(the plan is to turn Kurt). They need Cena as a heel. How does a heel get heat when he always wins clean? That is why heels cheat, in an effort to get people to hate them. There is nothing hateable about a guy that beats everyone's ass with no help, which is why HHH and Lesnar both had to turn face after dominate heel runs. The point is to get heat on Cena. He still benefits from the win because Taker rarely loses, so even if it is not clean, he does benefit. And after the FBI has destroyed Taker, it is stupid for Cena to put him up for the DVD. Taker is beat, cover him and get the win. And if Cena beats Undertaker clean, it should be at worst in the final of a tournament. If he beat Taker clean in the semi's, who would give Benoit a chance in the finals? I still believe clean wins over top guys should be saved for big matches so they mean more. Guest nikowwf Report post Posted April 10, 2003 There is a big area between CLEAN and LOOKING WEAK. He could have won after cheating, a distraction etc. But they way it seems to be booked (havent seen it obviously) is that it goes out of its way to say CENA IS MUCH LOWER THAN UNDERTAKER AND THIS WIN WAS VERY LUCKY. They do that too much...clean wasn't neccesary, but this was one of those beating HHH type wins that mean nothing and actually bring you down more.
