Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 10, 2003 (edited) Hello everybody~! *waits the everyone to reply with "Hello Lightning Flik"* So anyways, it's late, I'm in pain, and I'm thinking to myself. "God, I'm hurt, I'm sore, and frankly I'm bored witless. I need something to do. Well, I'll go play EWR... But oh wait... I need some challenge to it... OH I KNOW~!" Thusly, I'm opening up the EWR 3.0 Challenge~! Hollywood Spike Jenkins and friends did the last one, but I'm doing this one, so Anywoo, by winning, you'll receive the bragging rights of being TSMs best booker until the next tourney. And thusly, everyone in TSM will have to listen to your word when you speak. ...ok, I'm just making that last part up. You just get to claim to be the best booker. That's all. Now, anyone who wants to play can join. I need at least ten people to start this off. You can join in at anytime, but you'll start out at the beginning and have to catch up. EWR 3.0 Challenge will begin this Sunday. Now we'll get onto the rules, so you understand how to play the EWR 3.0 Challenge~! Rules To Play EWR 3.0 Challenge~!: 1) Create A New Federation - Give it a name. 2) Make Your Federation A Regional Level Fed - Thusly you ain't be big enough to do a whole hell of a lot. 3) Set Your Public Image to 70 - You'll start at that PI. Use your booking skills to raise that PI even more, Luke. Or screw yourselves into the ground for all I care. 4) Set Your Production Level to 50 - Gotta raise it on your own, sweet cheeks. With your own cash as well. 5) Set Your Cash to $3,000,000 - Same as last time. That's all you get from the bank. 6) Set Your Merchandise at 25 - You wanna raise it that's up to you. 7) Set Your Advertisement at 30 - This is just to make it even for everyone. You probably wanna change that. 8) Set Your Risk Level at 75 - This is just to make it even for everyone. You probably wanna change that. 9) You'll Have No Developmental Territory or Training Camp - Want them? Gotta pay for them yourself. 10) Give Yourself One Graveyard TV Show On Regional Network - Unlike in the original challenge, in EWR 3.0 Challenge~! you'll be granted a single graveyard TV show on Regional Network. But it'll be on Friday. Yes, the day is specific. Everyone else will have there's on Friday. You will too. Oh, and you can't change it from graveyard till your in Cult level. 11) You Will Have No Roster To Start Off With - You've gotta hire guys from scratch. Stick to hiring newbies as they'll come work cheap and also you'll also tend to lose them less easily. Also you can not have guys from the WWE like Booker T or Chris Benoit suddenly be in your fed at the start. Doesn't happen. Also please post your starting roster so everyone can see what the competition is using. Oh and no stealing of wrestlers till you get to Cult. 12) Every Real Week, You Will Post up a Two Months of EWR 3.0 Challenge - Three months was a little hard on everyone (especially those who had two shows in Cult Level), so I'm toning it down a bit and just asking for two months worth. They'll be posted in this folder. (The Week Of Play Begins Every Sunday) 13) You Can't Edit Any Other Feds, Workers, Etc. - No touchy to anything else. 14) When Beginning A Game Difficulty Will Be On Hard - That's to add some challenge. 15) The Market Must Be In A Boom - If it's not, restart your game. 16) Enjoy AND Have Fun How To Declare The Winner: So I was sitting here typing this up, thinking "how can we declare a true victor?" Well, I came up with 3 ways to win. 1) Be the only Challenger to have a promotion left. (Easy diffculty to pull off) 2) Be the first Challenger to obtain Global PI of 100. (Medium difficulty to pull off) 3) Be the first Challenger to successfully take out the WWE. (Hard difficulty to pull off) Now. To join you MUST fill out this application form as well and post it in here: Promotion: Roster: Titles: TV Show: Monthly Events: Current Sponsors: And just to give you an idea of how this template works, I'll post up my own application. Promotion: Superior Pro Wrestling (SPW) Roster: Austin Lee - Opener, Verbal Contract, Heel, Over 24. Chris Michaels - Midcard, Verbal Contract, Face, Over 35. Derrick King - Midcard, Verbal Contract, Heel, Over 39. Doc Dean - Opener, Verbal Contract, Face, Over 19. Generalin Intikami - Opener, Verbal Contract, Face, Over 18. The Dames 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2003 Geez man...sounds like a LOT of fun, but because I'm so busy AND because I write very thorough Diaries, I'm only able to write out one show a week....oh well. Dames
Guest MARTYEWR Report post Posted April 10, 2003 Flik, April's quite a busy month for me, but alright if I can start in May (if I still feel like competing)? It sounds pretty cool...
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted April 10, 2003 If this was bumped to cult, I could just join with my Hot Shit Wrestling. However, with the way I'm losing pi, I will probably be on a regional level in a few weeks. And it's like I try to make that successful or anything.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted April 10, 2003 oooo, I remember this. Of course, I alos remember falling behind like 8 months in two weeks, but, strangely, that's not discouraging me.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted April 10, 2003 I was one of the guys who rounded up the original tourney, though sad to say a lot of people had those damn "scheduling conflicts". That aside, maybe if this was taken as an advance, so that people know about it, we can get more into it. Marty said he's free to do it in May, and I'm sure others from here will be as that's when most colleges and some high school let out. Flik, maybe plan a date in advance to actually "start off" and just assemble promotions for now?

Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 10, 2003 Oh geez. It was late at night people. What do you expect of me? PERFECTION? I ain't Mr. Perfect here. So we'll fix this up on the fly. Alright. Firstly, I'll start it off in May. Since everyone feels that May seems the best, we'll do it then. I just need for everyone to agree on a date and we'll be all good. Secondly, does anyone want to switch the size from Regional to Cult? I ask this since many of you this time around and last time around seem to complain about where we start off. ...ok, I just would love to add HSW to our listings. Thirdly, do you want to start off with a TV Show or not? Again, many people couldn't get a show if their life depended on it (and it did when it came to this), so do you want a show or not. If we do decide to move the size to Cult, I'd strongly advise it. Fourthly, anything else anyone wants changed or that? Come on and post up, I'm want this to succeed and I'm willing to listen to changes you guys think would make life better.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Report post Posted April 10, 2003 And a here we go again.... You know, 1/4 of the people wont post results for the first week, 1/2 of that won't post results for the second week, and then everyone except me will forget the third week. BAH TO ALL OF YOU! Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted April 10, 2003 First off, I'm glad to say I finally downloaded a zip program, and I have EWR 3.0 (boo-fucking-yah), so I'm down with this little competition. Why not a May 3rd or May 2nd start date? Not that the first report would be then, but that would be when we'd all start our games. Also, instead of reporting 2 months a real week, why not report just 1 month a real week? It would be more relaxed, and could give us all a little extra time. If we can use self-created wrestlers (creating new wrestlers in the File Editor), we should need to post their stats in this thread so that all competitors will be able to add them to the game. For now. 2) A single month might make it less hard on everyone else. I'll agree for now. 3) Can't use created wrestlers because if say 10 people joined, that'd be 10 created wrestlers you can add to your own roster and thus defeat the purpose of going out and taking from scratch. Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted April 10, 2003 I could create a new, more 'serious' thread for this game as it does sound like fun. Although with wanting to keep the HSW going and writing for the SWF, I don't think my show reports would be that detailed, pretty much just all copy and pasting. I'll see as we get closer to start date.

Besides, with all the angles, everyone should get where your going with something. Oh yeah, I understand that Flik. I just didn't want people expecting a similar type of detailed and funny fed. With all I do for the HSW I only get around to playing the game maybe once or twice a week. I wouldn't mind an excuse to do a more relaxed fed, where I'm basically just booking and posting results. So, I would like this a bit most likely.

Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 10, 2003 (edited) Count me in. And I say no TV show to start off but we get 70 PI. So people have to earn their TV shows. Alright. So far the agreement is: TV Shows - No Size - Regional PI - 70 is what's acceptable. Now come on everyone else. Voice those opinions. I want to make sure EVERYONE gets a blast out of playing this, and not get cheap side. Speak your min Edit: Should we allow a few created wrasslers or no? I'm also working on devising a point system to showcase who is in the lead, and who is losing: would that be acceptable rather than just three ways of winning? And the true objective of the challenge should it be to wipe out the WWE, or get to Global PI of 100? Discuss these things with me people. Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 10, 2003 (edited) If we only need to post basic journals, I'm in. It has to be one month per week though. That's all you need. A basic journal will be sufficient. All I ask that is for these things included every month posted: 1) Your Wrassler Roster at the end of the month. Also include the overness of everyone, as I'll be using that in a fashion for the point system. Although keep any surprises that need to be kept secret secret. Just put ??? Overness 72 for example. 2) Also any major things that happened. Not neccesarily signings but rather should you buy out someone, have a drastic change happen something like that. Just to get an idea of what's going down. If you happen to lose a wrassler to someone, I need to know that, because it'll count against you in the scoring system. Also should he be a champion, I need to know how much a blow that title recieved. Yes, again it'll count against you in the scoring system. 3) Your PI at the first of the month. Related to scoring system. 4) Your Amount of Cash at the first of the month. Related to scoring system. 5) Your Match of the Month Canidates (to be picked at the end of the month): pick three matches. Related to scoring system. And bragging rights yet again. Included quality ratings and star scoring. 6) All Titles Public Image. Involved with the scoring system. Also for people to brag whose got the best titles. Other than that, that's about it. And even this can be changed because I'm still working on the scoring system. Edited April 10, 2003 by Lightning Flik
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 11, 2003 (edited) These have been set for now. Unless I get some voices of opinion otherwise or that. So voice up people~! How the Challenge Works: Promotion Starting Stats: Size - Regional Cash - $3,000,000 Public Image - 70 Risk - 75 Production - 50 Merchandise - 25 Advertising - 35 Market - Must be in a boom. Roster - NONE (Gotta hire them on the fly) Change Promotion - Stuck with the one you start. Stealing - Not allowed till Cult Size TV Show - Yes (Graveyard: No changing till Cult Size, will be on Friday, on Regional Network) Scoring System of EWR Challenge: The Simple Points: Alright. Now, I know people are wondering how the scoring system works, so here we go. PI Scoring - Since everyone is starting at Regional PI of 70 that number is 0. Gain PI and you gain points. Lost PI and you lose points. Also if you fall in Regional from 70 YOU WILL LOSE POINTS. So try staying above 70 PI. Overness of Wrestlers - For every point of overness your wrestlers have, you get a point. So yes, the more over your wrestlers are, the more points you get. Lose a guy to someone esle, you lose those points from your score. Steal a wrestler you get that overness. Hire someone, you get that person's overness Title Image - Every point of image your title has, you get points. Lose image, lose points. That simple. How to Score Additional Points: Buy Out Another Fed - Before you buy them out, record what their PI is. You aquire that amount of PI to your total points. Afterwards, give out the images for the titles you got from that promotion cause as you guessed it, you'll get points for them. Top Monthly Show Attendance Totals - Whoever has the highest monthly show attandance will gain those levels into points. Also should there be federations in different sizes (Regional, Cult, etc.), should they be tops, they'll gain those points. Top Monthly TV Show Totals - Get the top TV show rating, and acquire whatever the total quality the show had. Top 3 In Rankings - First place for that month acquires an additional 50 points. Second place aquires 25 points. Third place aquires 10 points. No points acquired for being 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in Overall Rankings. Categories That'll Be Kept Track Of 1) Overall - Kept track of by total points. 2) Size - Who's got the highest PI 3) Highest Segment - Whoever's got the highest segment, gets this. 4) TV Show - Who's had the best TV show on average. 5) Monthly Events - Who's got the best monthly event. 6) Title Images - Who's got the best belts. Let me worry about getting all the points and categories up. Just post your stuff up. However, I'm not sure how the signalling of the challenge shall end. Anyone with some bright ideas? (Edit: Stupid word messed this posting up the first time around) Edited April 11, 2003 by Lightning Flik
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted April 11, 2003 I say a TV show to start, but graveyard shift doesn't give you much to work with. If it's a graveyard shift show, I think you should be allowed to start sending out promo tapes as soon as you want. The goal is to run the most successful promotion and the more t.v. time you can wrangle the better. I'm totally against being able to create your own wrestler and won't play if that's allowed. Say someone creates a "super-roster." Even if I can create those guys, maybe I don't want them. I say play with what the game gave you. I like one month a week too. I also say everyone should determine there own risk level. That is a big part of personal strategy in trying to be successful with the type of fed you feel comfortable with. Anything else you want opinions on?

Anything else you want opinions on? Nope. That's more or less what I want people to discuss. But I wish I got more people's responses on this. Alright. About Choices For When The TV Show will take place: 1) Late Evening on Friday, you'll be competiting against your first TWO rival companies EPIC (Regional) and JAPW (Small). 2) Or you can go toe to toe on Saturdays during Early Evenings with TNA (National) and FLI (Cult). 3) Or get Early Evening on Tuesdays and go head to head against RoH (Cult). 4) Or go Late Evening against HWA (Regional) on Tuesdays. 5) Perhaps tally against WWE (Global) and NWA: Wildside on Sundays Early Evening. 6) Or finally go up against WXW on Late Evening Sundays. That's the choices so far. If ya get a free TV show, you will be pitted against a rival company in an according time slot that is chosen. And everyone will be pitted against it to make it fair. Also you guys can choose what TV station you guys would prefer to have, but it can't go above 2.40 in rating. So try to be reasonable. This is for your first show. After that, it's up to everyone else. Those stats I posted are just starting stats. You control your fed once you start the first day. I mean, whatever risk you want, is up to you. I just set it at that as a basis. And let's put it out there. You guys wanna be able to steal right away or no? Also same deal with able to send out for other TV deals. Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted April 11, 2003 I say t.v. and stealing right away, but as a regional promotion there's only so much you can do with all that anyway. Also, are we going to keep all the existing promotions in the game or delete some of the miscellanuous ones? I like the late evening Tuesday time slot.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 11, 2003 Ok people, I'm just updating this once again. Firstly, if you wanna steal right from the get go, I'm allowing it. It's your promotion right? Should be able to run it the way it should be run from the get go. I do think that was one of the major problems from the original, the stealing part. It happens and frankly, everyone can do it. Edit: Frost, you bastard, you BEAT me to saying this. Secondly, I'm fixing up the Scoring System as I'm making it simpler not only for you guys, but to make the diaries less than the clusterfuck I just realized I'd be making them. Just for everyone's info: 1) overness of Wrestlers counting towards points is gone, as too much work writing down everyone's overness (you lose a wrestler though, that overness will be subtracted from your score still); 2) TV Show Rankings have gone from being an averaging to highest rating (this is for my benefit of not having to figure out averages); 3) Titles from bought out feds can be kept to increase overness and used, or can be dismantled and you just get to take those image points to be added to your totals of your scores. Thirdly, if you wanna make detailed diaries, then go for it. However, all that is required of everyone is bareboned. Meaning something like this: Participants: John Cena and Booker T Segment: Match Description: Cena pins Booker T. (just copy and paste from the EWR stuff if you wanna) Quality: Overall/Crowd/Match Notes: Booker T lost overness in this match. Fourthly, Frost (WrestlingDeacon) asked about any changes to the game. Like certain feds being deleted and such. I say no, and here's why. About 4 or 5 months in, 4 or more feds go under anyways. Why bother taking them out if they go under anyways? I can pretty much name most of them as well: Major League Wrestling, Pro Pain Pro Wrestling, Maryland Championship Wrestling, and Pro Wrestling Iron. Just wait 5 months and you'll be able to get some decent guys off of these rosters. Fifthly, I just wanna make sure that everyone that I've got in listing below who are currently interested in playing the Challenge come the starting day, May 3rd: Lightning Flik Dames MARTYEWR WrestlingDeacon Smell the ratings!!! Zack Malibu CoreyLazarus416 raptor TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Retro Rob If anyone else would like to please let me know. Also I ask the following of three things from the Promoters who are interested in playing: Name of Promotion Name of TV Show (which will be Tuesday Late Evening, as I've only had one person tell me what they would like, that's what we are going with) Names of Monthly Events
