With the influx of new wrestlers to the WWE, and the re-debut of some others, who, on either show, has got the potential to break out from the crowd and go places... and who's got the potential to be working in indy feds the rest of their life?

I'm curious as to see how you all think about it.

I'm thinkign about it as I type this, and I should have my feelings up on this matter shortly.

Possible success:

Piper, if he stays out of the ring.

Kanyon, if Gayda isn't the focus. ;)

Sting, if his heart would really be in it.

Disasters waiting to happen:

Goldberg, definitely backstage if not elsewhere.

Sable--who gives a shit about this old broad and what does she have to offer at this point?

Nash: will likely be injured very, very soon.

Will-Be's:

Brian "Spanky" Kendrick-Turn him heel, call him Spanky, have him have NO respect for anyone, and have him feud with Rey or Kidman or something like that for the Cruiserweight Title. I would tune into SmackDown religiously to see "The Big Spankzilla" Brian Kendrick.

John Cena-Get him in a major feud with someone that complements his style of wrestling, and you've got a golden boy on your hands.

NEVER WILLS:

Nathan Jones-Isn't he a WCW Power Plant reject? Him or Bob Sapp...anywho, Jones = Worth-fucking-less

Goldberg-Yay...more backstage politics...huzzah.

Jamie Knoble is probably one of the best all-around guys in the fed. He should be the #1 heel in the cruiser division, presuming that the WWE would ever give 2 shits about it. They need to open their eyes and stop booking Knoble as a jobber.

The nostalgia pops Piper gets will die down soon. He should never have been brought back.

Goldberg will definitely fizzle away. But his departure will have nothing to do with in-ring action.

Sadly, I don't think Nathan has much potential, either.

If Nowinski vs. Steiner happens at Backlash, I hope they give the win to Nowinski by whatever means. It would be a big way to start a push for him while only sacrificing Steiner who's pretty useless (but still has some name value).

What kind of contract does Steiner have? Did the geniuses at WWE sign him to a three year deal or did he sign a relatively short, one year deal?

Guest RavishingRickRudo

If the WWE wanted to get rid of steiner they could - just put him in a ridiculous angle, have him protest and then fire him for breach of contract (He probably got a 1 year though) or they could just do a drug test.

Guest AndrewTS

The thing I don't like about putting Nowinski over Steiner--he'll inevitably be squashed by a Clique member, who will then job to HHH.

Plus, I think soon they'll push Steiner again. He sucks in the ring, is unintelligible on the mic, he's big, he's not very over, and he was once a pretty big name. So he's due for another push soon.

If, at Backlash, we see SPANKY (not Brian Kendrick)...Spanky v. Noble v. Rey v. Matt Hardy V.1 for the Cruiserweight Title...who else would mark the fuck out?

And there is no way in hell Steiner will job to Nowinski, of all people...

Steiner: "Nowinski? I doubt he's TOUGH ENOUGH for one of my freaks! Holla! If you hear me!"

Dude: "Uh...who are you talking to?"

Steiner: "My freaks! I'm their hookup!" *pose and vein pop*

you know, i love matt hardy and all. Hes personally one of my favorite wrestlers. That being said i dont think he should be stuck in the cruiserwight division.

Reason number one, i think this guy should be pushing the upper midcard to mainevent slot right now (idve rather had Matt v Brock at backlash instead of cena)

Number 2- I enjoy Matches of lets say Noble v Rey better than Matt v Rey. Theyre starting to have considerable depth now in the division, they just need more heels. Its time to showcase what they have.

God I hope they turn Kendrick because, it may just be me, but I can not stand his little bouncing, babyface routine when it comes to the ring. He looks like such a douchebag.

Never will be's/Has-beens:

Sable: Too many younger women around her. It was easy for her to be a draw when she was the best looking woman in the WWF/E and she was 5 years younger, but these are different times.

Brian Kendrick: He's a talented guy, but I couldn't see the bookers putting him over a lot of people on the roster due to huge size differences. He's Spike Dudley Version 2. Even if they keep him exclusive to the CW division, he doesn't really have a unique or impressive look or gimmick to set him out from the pack.

Nathan Jones: He's 37 and a liability. A few major fuck ups will kill what little heat he has.

Kevin Nash: He's old than Jones, injury prone, hasn't really proven to be a draw...

Will be's:

Goldberg: If they do it right (which they probably won't, but you gotta have hope), he could be a huge star. They need to set him on a killing spree. He's fresh in the eyes of the WWE fans and he has a good deal of charisma.

Roddy Piper: If he stays on Piper's pit and never wrestles, he could be pretty useful. He's one of the greatest talkers in the history of professional wrestling and they should use him to help younger guys get over.

John Cena: He could be as big of a star as Lesnar. He has all the tools to be a main eventer in the WWE, they just need to keep him away from the Takers of the world for the rest of his career.

Sting: He's got a good gimmick going in, they just need to establish him as a top level WWE star instead of a WCW main eventer coming in to the WWE. They can't just put him out there one week out of the blue as Sting from WCW like they've done with everyone else. It would get a good pop, but it won't help business in the least. History has proven that it would be wise for them to take it slow and establish his character. At least it would provide another top level star on either of the brands, both of which are lacking in main eventers at the moment. Sure, it's not the best route to go into as far as making main eventers, but it has the potential to help more than hurt.

Ultimo Dragon: If he comes in, it could provide a huge boost to the cruiserweight division and flesh it out with someone familiar with US wrestling fans or he could squander like Taka Michinoku. Even so, it will provide for some entertaining matches.

He'll come in, totally revitalize the cruizer division, and then they'll job him out to some talentless hoss in an attempt (which will fail) to transfer some of his heat to said hoss.

It happened with Rey & Albert.

true potential:

John Cena- The most out of anyone by far

Shelton Benjamin- If he develops his persona, definitely

Brian Kendrick- I can see him being a major Cruiser

Jamie Knoble- Should be the top cruiser with Rey, but still has potential

Piper- If he keeps his Piper's Pit series as a talk-showesque segment, it'll be entertaining

no potential:

Kevin Nash- One quad away from retirement

Goldberg- Gossiping will get him no where fast

Nathan Jones- Um, he sucks

That's just my point. Kendrick wasn't BORN to play a bouncing, happy, babyface. He was born to play the egotistical, degenerate prick SPANKY. Spanky has two things over Spike:

1. Talent: The guy is really, really good, but because of the whole "Hey, fans! Love me" gimmick, he can't do his Uber cool Spanky offense. The guy punches him a couple of times, Spanky takes them down and bitch-slaps them. Tell me the WWE fans wouldn't love to see some CruiserFace get bitch-slapped by a punk named Spanky...

2. A good look: Contrary to what you say, Spanky as a character, could get over. If he lets his hair grow over his face and just dress like a cocky street punk, he could go far.

Now the way to get him over would be simple: Have him berate the fans for turning their backs on him and not caring. The classic "Pity Me, Angry Youth" gimmick, which is exactly what Kendrick NEEDS to do. If the WWE has any smarts, they'll turn the kid heel and have him make people hate his guts.

I could totally buy Kendrick in the Mattitude stable with Hardy and Moore...that could be a good way to turn him and get him o the track to being Spanky again.

O'Haire will hopefully break out. He's got a great look, added charisma (moreso than he had in WCW, and they planned on the Goldberg push for him), and what could be a great gimmick. I hope they don't job him to Rikishi in the next few weeks, like they do to EVERY newcomer to Smackdown.

Noble should be much higher on the chain than he is. The guy is like a Jr. Benoit. And you can't even say the gimmick holds him back...if anything it modifies his personality so that he looks better.

Jones, Sable, Goldberg-all busts. Goldberg's ego is already getting the best of him, Sable didn't even get that good of a nostalgia pop (and is seemingly being punished for her problems in the past by participating in this lesbian angle), and we all know about Jones. The guys vignettes looked so damn cool and they fucking wasted it. You mean to tell me a guy who did a lot of time didn't know how to fight?

I think everyone understands that everyone hates Kevin Nash, A-Train, Nathan Jones and Sable. Well, not everyone, since I like the middle two. Jeepers.

This is not really who has a bright future, more like who I would push right now. Kinda the same.

NEEDS A PUSH: Steven Richards (deserves it second most), TD Tommy Dreamer (third most), Rico, Maven (heel), Shawn Stastiak (after rehiring), Aldous Huxley, Kanyon, Noble, Funaki (most), Tajiri, Nunzio/Stamboli (post-FBI, it's fine for now)

Nathan Jones: He's 37 and a liability. A few major fuck ups will kill what little heat he has.

I don't think Nathan Jones is 37. Of course, he very well could be in your home-time, Dr. Futurian!

2. A good look: Contrary to what you say, Spanky as a character, could get over. If he lets his hair grow over his face and just dress like a cocky street punk, he could go far.

I don't think anyone knows exactly how these crazy "cocky street punks" dress, yo.

Isn't he friends with Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash?

That probably won't hurt his career.

If they did bring back the Spanky character as everybody seems to suggest, wouldn't he be one of those heel characters that people would cheer cause they dig it?

Guest magell

I think they should send Kendrick to RAW to work with Micheals using the mentor thing which makes lots of sense because Micheals trained him. Kendrick would get a big rub from working with Micheals before he turns on him and becomes Spanky and acts like an asshole to everybody. He could team up with Christian and Jericho or stay by himself.

I'll add another vote in the bring back Spanky line. And I also think O'Haire has a better shot than Jones or shit, half smackdown to become a star.

Guest Goodear

Kendrick as a heel would simply suck. The Sliced Bread #2 is a face finisher and just about the only believable way we can put anyone down anyway. He's too small to even be a heel in the cruiserweight division at this point as even Noble dwarfs him.
