Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted April 14, 2003 credit 411mania.com This week, on the No Holds Barred radio show Chris Jericho joined us and here are the highlights. Fozzy will be playing in Brooklyn at Lamours on the 25th and tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster. Chris loves playing with Fozzy and hopes to make more time to tour. He played with Fozzy in Japan and Germany and a possible third album is in the works. He hopes to take Fozzy as far as the band can go. We joked with Y2J about not being able to find his hotel in Seattle and being chased down the street. He said if he was being chased by hot chicks then the rumor is absolutely true but if he was being followed by a bunch of signing geeks with thick glasses looking to sell glossy photos on the internet then the rumor is completely false. Chris loved his match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 19. He feels they have great chemistry together and feels they stole the show on the largest stage of them all. He ranks the match in the top 10 of his career and one of the best matches in Mania history. Chris said his altercation with Goldberg was a private thing. However, he said it was brewing between the two and he is glad that its over. He said Bill is not a bad guy but he may need to watch the people around him. He is glad Bill is in the WWE and looks forward to working with him. The incident ended in a handshake and he feels Bill can help everybody make money. He spoke of some disagreements between himself and Eric Bischoff in WCW. They don't speak that much but he harbors no ill feelings towards Bischoff. He said with only 1 large company in the industry there is no time for grudges. He said it still must be odd for Bischoff to work for Vince McMahon and Vince must enjoy the fact that Eric has to eat crow at this point in time. Chris feels former wrestlers would be very useful for the writing team but current talents should not be involved since it is a conflict of interest. He said eventually as a writer/wrestler you would have to win a match and no matter what the audience would believe, it would be hard to prove you weren't trying to put yourself over. He feels the hollywood types who are not familiar with the business don't have a true feel for it even though they may have some great ideas. He does believe that a lot of guys in the locker room will eventually be great writers. Chris talked of his move from Smackdown to Raw and how he did not want to leave Smackdown at first. He mentioned the Raw roster needed help and he, Christian and Lance Storm were moved in order to help the show. He now feels Raw is the better show and loves being on Raw. He has enjoyed his work with Shawn Michaels as well as his tag team stint with Christian. Chris is not upset about not being in the title picture at this moment. He feels there are always other lead actors besides the champion and it doesent matter if he has the belt or not. He feels his character is bulletproof and will once again wear the gold. He mentioned if Booker won at Mania he may be in the title picture right now but it dosent make sense for two heels to battle for the belt. He said no matter what happens, he is always still the highlight of the night. We spoke to Chris via cell phone and during the interview we shared a classic moment with him. Chris pulled up to a toll booth and didn't have enough money to pay the toll. He only had 75 cents and some Canadian money and Pesos. He went through the toll and promised to pay double the next time he went through. He said his wife took money out of his wallet and didn't tell him there was nothing left in it before he left. He has enjoyed working with Hunter but has no plans to join the Evolution group. He would not stand in the back while Flair and Hunter cut promos because he said he cuts better promos then them anyway. Evolution is Hunter's group and a great spring board for Batista and Orton but Chris is his own guy and always has been and prefers to keep it that way. Chris shared his thoughts on his famous catch phrases saying that he always changes them because when you're on T.V. as much as he is, you don't want your character to become stale. He said using the same catch phrase week after week gets boring and his favorite all time catch phrase is "Jericoholic". He added that he wanted to come up with a word that would best describe his fans and after looking thru a thesaurus and toying with the name "Jericho-Conspirators", he luckily stumbled on to it when the word alcohol popped into his head. He gave some advice to those who are working on developing their careers in the business by telling them to be very smart when creating character ideas because you don't want to get stuck with a gimmick that becomes old real fast. He gave reference to Test's current storyline and Val Venis' old porn start routine and said they were just doing what they were told but both ideas burned out real fast. We asked him about Fozzy's loss to Howard Stern and he joked that it was similar to a wrestling match - the result was pre-determined. He said that he enjoyed the contest though and was glad to have met Howard and says he wasn't the way he expected him to be. Chris plugged his upcoming show in Brooklyn, NY on April 25th as we closed things out and when asked if Jeff Hardy's band would have a shot to open up Chris said he's not sure if Jeff's band have even written any songs but regardless of who opens the show, Fozzy will blow them all off the stage as they are one of the most entertaining rock bands around today. What a company man Jericho's become. Well he works for the company, probably likes the company (yes, I bet he does), and I'm sure he loves the money he makes from the company. So, yeah he's a company man. He's been a company man since he joined in 1999.

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 14, 2003 Maybe Jericho doesn't think he's been treated that poorly. They only gave him a 4 month title reign and let him headline a Wrestlemania- everyone on the roster would kill for that. I mean you act like he hates his job and I don't think that's the case at all.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 14, 2003 Exactly...I think WE want to think Jericho feels he is being poorly mistreated... I am pretty sure he is happy with his Hot Wife, Being a Top Draw for the #1 company in America and has his Relgion...I don't think this guy is feeling mis-used... Grow Up People...Wrestlers don't live off this Smark world like you wish they did... I doubt they sit at home with their wives and go "Honey, I'm Being Mis-Used" "You're Right Honey, I seen what TSM said". "god-Damned Vince...How dare he pay me to live out my dream and wrestle my fucking idol at the biggest stage in the world"
Guest IB2BLACK Report post Posted April 14, 2003 Also, I'm sure Jericho is bringing home at least a $1,000,000 a year.

Ah, but if he doesn't feel like he's being treated too poorly, then he isn't a hypocrite to speak well of WWE, even if we feel he has been.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 14, 2003 Why would he? Wasn't Test with Raw the whole time? I thought He was...Maybe not...
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 14, 2003 No- Test jumped with Christian, Y2J and Storm

Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2003 Heh, Jericho made no mention of Test when talking about how Raw needed help and that's why he, Christian, and Lance went there. I love it.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 14, 2003 Maybe it's merely unintentional being Friends with Lance and X..but yes...It is funny... Andrew can't catch a break...Oh Well...Still gets to Tap That ass...

Guest Damn You Helmsley Report post Posted April 14, 2003 I wonder if he ranks that KoTR semi-final against RVD higher than the match with HBK.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 15, 2003 I could buy that since Jericho has always been a major Merch seller... But that would mean Jeff is a Billonaire since after Rock, Austin and Taker...He has sold the most merch...
