The Official TSM Mock Draft Thread.

Recommended Posts

Guest MarvinisaLunatic
We've been told that Baltimore is trying to put together a deal with the Vikings for quarterback Daunte Culpepper. In exchange, Minnesota would receive the Ravens' first-round pick, No. 10 overall, in the upcoming draft.

Culpepper, 26, will be a restricted free agent at the end of the 2003 season. Vikings owner Red McCombs, who is cutting back financially to make the books look better before he sells the team in the near future, evidently does not want to pay Culpepper the type of money he is looking for.

If the Vikings do trade Culpepper to Baltimore, then they must feel confident they can draft either Marshall QB Byron Leftwich or Cal QB Kyle Boller with the 10th pick and still be able to get Kentucky defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson or Penn State defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy with their other first-round pick, No. 7 overall.

The deal makes sense for Baltimore because although Culpepper is young, he is much more of a proven commodity than Leftwich or Boller. More important, Culpepper has experience in coach Brian Billick's offensive system.

Hmm..sounds like a good deal to me..

I'd take that trade, Culpepper isn't as good a QB as many think he is. Sure he can run, but he can't seem to find recievers that well.

Is there a clock for these picks?

This is supposed to be fun and it's already become very very lame.

If you're not online, then I understand. But Choken One posted in this thread even and he still hasn't picked.

:::We Return to the Room:::

:::Light engulfs the walls...The shades are pulled back...The Sun shines through the windowpane::::

:::The Young Man In His 20's, With a Nice trimed Beard steps out of a room, In Black Armani Suit:::

:::He Pours himself a Cup of Coffee and Whistles as He puts Up the last remaining Tape into a Storage Box Marked "DRAFT 03":::

:::A Knock is heard...A Young Lady, Dressed In a Light blouse and short skirt enters the room:::

:::After a Soft kiss, The Young Lady takes a seat across from the desk:::

:::A Dramatic Pause, as the young Man opens up a Drawer...and Pulls out a White envelop and seeps it into the young ladies waiting hand:::

:::The Young Man grins and draws out a fine Cuban Cigar:::

:::The Young Lady opens the envelope...Curiously:::

:::She peels out a index Card...with Black Lettering:::

:::She looks down at the card and a Slight Gasp tickles the fancy of the young Man:::

:::The Young Man, Lightly clenching the cigar, pulls up from his seat and rubs his hands and takes a deep breath:::

:::The young lady inserts the Index Card back into the envelope and Shakes the man's Hand:::

:::The Young Man, Opens the door for her and she leaves:::

:::A Cell Phone is heard Ringing:::

:::He answers it:::

:::The sound can't be heard from the other side:::

:::A WIDE facial expression creeps over the young man, Mouth gaping:::

:::He busts through the door...and runs down the long Industrial Hallway...Shouting "wait!" "WAIT!"....

For someone who isn't in the draft but found the idea interesting I have to say this is incredibly lame and not funny.

Reports from the Cincinnati Inquirer say the Bengals are going to start contract talks with Terrence Newman.

I'll mock trade Culpepper for the 10th pick. It's really up to the Ravens rep.

Is there a reason we haven't just assigned palmer to Choken and moved on?

No, damnit! I want him for my Saints! Or at least have Dallas get him.

And, Choken one... c'mon man. Just pick.

My interest in the draft is dropping by the hour.

Who's running this show? After three posts and no picks his time has to be up.

This is Choken's failed attempt at humor.

If his next post isn't the pick, than he should lose it. Something that was supposed to be fun is becoming boring.

I'm not in the draft but I'll volunteer to take Choken's place or anyone else who bores everyone to death with this stalling.

:::The Young Man, Accompanied by his lovely young Assistant walk into a Room…Occupied by a Long narrow table, with two men seated:::

:::The Young Man shakes their hands and Takes a seat at the helm of the table:::

The Young Man: I’ve called this Emergency meeting for a reason, As We all know, We thought we had decided upon our pick for the draft.

Other Guy #1: So What exactly have we changed? Mr. One?

CK1: Good Question, Mr. Brown…I’ve realize that we made a crucial error in our decision and luckily I was able to rectify that move on time. Thanks to my good friend, Mr. Dave Shula, I discovered a much better prospect for our organizations Future?

Mr. Brown: Groans

CK1: Is there a problem with That Mr. Brown?

Brown: Not at All sir.

Other Guy #2: Excuse Me, Mr. One but whom is this Dave Shula you speak of?

CK1: Ah, Thanks Mr. Lewis for that question, He is only the most innovative and intelligent coaches to ever grace the N.F.L…but he was busy. However, I got in touch with his son, What can go wrong there?

Brown: So What did he suggest? Trade the #1 pick and Dillon for 126 Acres of Swampland in Florida?

CK1: That Option was considered but we agreed on this, Gentlemen, I give to you, Our #1 draft Choice.

:::The camera fades back as the three nod in approval and shake hands:::

:::The Young Man hands that piece of paper over to his Assistant:::

A Few Minutes Later…

::::In the TSM MOCK DRAFT Headquarters, Commissioner Bravesfan receives a Fax::::

:::He sends his Young Asian Assistant to retrieve the fax:::

Bravesfan: At last, The Bengals Have made their selection…I shall address the press.

::::Bravesfan slips on his suit jacket:::

:::He walks, Slowly down the flight of Stairs, milking the anticipation of the Press and the other teams:::

:::He Arrives at the Press Room, The room quiets down as Bravesfan approaches the Podium to make the announcement::::

Bravesfan: And With the First overall draft Selection of the 2003 TSM Mock Draft, The Cincinnati Bengals have selected, From Kansas State, Cornerback, Terrance Newman….The Detroit Lions are now on the clock

Texans, since you need a LB and run a 3-4, my offer of Gildon and my pick for your pick is up in the air for you, too.

That's what I was thinking. He mentioned in the original thread he wanted a quarterback, so maybe we should just give him Palmer and be done with it.

Iwould like to select the greatest reciever in big ten history, a native of saginaw, michigan, a former state champion in the 200m dash, the best friend of a coke addict and the father of at least three children. This man is none other than Charles Rogers of Michigan State University

Kiper Mode On

This was the expected pick for the Lions. A talented receiver who gives Joey Harrington a a go to receiver the next 10 years.

The Texans feel that they need a playmaker at No. 3 although ESPN may think a OL may be a good idea, the Houston Texans select at the No.3 pick Andre Johnson, WR Miami (FL).

Johnson ranked higher than Rogers on many teams draft boards. He was obviously to good to pass up.
