Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 19, 2003 (edited) Delaware houses a lot of major credit card companies' main offices. Fight Club was supposedly set in Wilmington. Actually, the WWE is somehow based out of Delaware. Thus, WWE is a figment of our imaginations. Many (most?) companies choose to incorporate in Delaware. I don't feel like explaining why, but I'll point you here if you're really curious. As I'm sure you know, WWE is based in Stamford. EDIT: Stamford, not Stanford Edited April 19, 2003 by areacode212
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted April 19, 2003 I live 10 minutes away from Delaware in Maryland. The best advantage it has is tax free shopping. There is a NASCAR track in Dover, which also has a horse track and slot machines as well on the same premises. There are also a couple of places that have slot machines also. Punkin Chunkin is a fun event, although I've only been 1 time. Seeing people blast pumpkins 3000 feet+ with big air cannons is a site to see. Delaware is the home of DuPont for what it matters. Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 19, 2003 Dover is a horrible city...I hate it there...No one can throw a party there...I mean seriously all they have is like 10 people with two Six Packs of Miller sitting around an Wading Pool... If Fight Club was in Delaware...then Fight Club is a Figmet of our imagination and I don't like that....So for my sanity...Fight Club was in Rhode Island...You know the OTHER forgotten square block of land... Guest meanmaisch Report post Posted April 19, 2003 Here's a Delaware/wrestling story for ya: When CZW was still running out of the Champs Sports Arena, we would regularly attend and occasionally talk to the workers before the show and during intermission. One night, we were talking with the Briscoe brothers and we couln't help noticing a thick, southern accent and dialect used by the two. We didn't know much about their background, so one of the guys asked them if they were from a deep south state like Alabama. They replied, "no, we're from Smyrna, Delaware". We were shocked, as we thought that Smyrna was too much of a northern place to produce such accents. Lo and behold, I've come to find that the Smyrna area is almost like a town that you would find in the deep south, in a state like Alabama. This is interesting juxtaposed with a more northern "city" like Wilmington. A lot of diversity in such a small place.
