Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Report post Posted May 26, 2003 Mr MVP 24 points 20 rebs 7 assist At least he's playing like an MVP now. But The Finals are going to be one boring match up. But maybe the Nets can surprise everyone. If anybody from the east can do it it's the Nets.

Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted May 26, 2003 Good times, I'm always happy when a showboat like Van Exel loses a game. "I made a shot, time to dance" Ugh. Outside of Sam Cassel, there is no more alien looking man in the league. I still question how good Kenyan Martin is at this very moment. He will be excellent and can take the ball to the rim very well but he's a horrible shooter from any sort of distance and grabbing 9 boards is a good night for him. Another example of Jason Kidd making an average player (who will be very good soon) look like something spectacular. Still question the sanity of everyone who demanded he be an all star this season though. Heres to Tim Duncan and company bitch slapping the lot of em. Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 26, 2003 Your better off giving the Nets your "support" as they will need it more, maybe you can cure K-Mart.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted May 26, 2003 The Nets have a better chance than Dallas ever did.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 26, 2003 Dallas did have a chance at beating the Spurs but the injuries to the big men hurt them. The Nets will win a game or two but will fall like the rest. Spurs in
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 26, 2003 The finals might be a decent match-up. If K-Mart can contain Duncan and RJ an Kittles can match Manu and Jackson, it should be somewhat entertaining. A lot more entertaining than the last few years.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted May 26, 2003 Dallas had no chance if Portland OR Sacramento was healthy but both went to shit at exactly the wrong time. So I feel no pity for them, they got there via injuries and they will exit via injuries. I'd say it's ironic, but in the end it's just shitty for everyone. And Van Exel falls into the Antoine Walker category: He dances and loses. Ol Nick has always been good at losing and making "I'm da shit" faces while his team falls behind/loses their lead. Just someone I've never ever liked and has proceded to just get more annoying with time. K-Mart cannot contain Tim Duncan. He's just not good enough yet. If they go single coverage, Duncan will devour him with every move in his book and thats a lot of god damned moves. They should double off of Jackson who is at times spotty with his shot, or Bowen if he's not in the corner. Seriously, if the guy isn't in the corner shooting the 3, he's pretty worthless as far as offense goes. In any case, this will be the best finals in about 3 to 4 years. And for once, whoever wins, I will be happy for, as I genuinly like both teams. How unusual.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 26, 2003 Dallas needs an Elton Brand-like player who rebounds, blocks and hustles, while at the same time having some sort of offense to keep opposing teams in check. Najera plays his heart out but they need someone more talented to give them an inside presence. I wouldn't be surprised if Cuban offers Brand a big contract because he knows Sterling won't match. Guest Redhawk Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Outside of Sam Cassel, there is no more alien looking man in the league. I'm sure Gary Payton, Anthony Johnson (Nets backup PG), Doug Christie and Tayshaun Prince would have something to say about that.

Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted May 27, 2003 No no, those guys you mentioned are simply ugly, Van Exel and Cassel are alien like, a whole new level of ugly.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted May 27, 2003 on the radio last night, a reporter said that you will see 4 MAJOR exits from dallas players in the off season. supposedly a couple fo guys are CANCERS~! on the mavericks team. hey, the mavericks were going to lose with Nowitzki but with 9 players they were toast. as for the Nets, no way in HELL will they be able to keep up with the spurs. any success the nets have had is an illusion. they play in the east. if the lakers, mavericks, kings, portland, minnesota, pheonix or the spurs played in the less talented east, they would be heaped as some of the greatest teams ever. as it is, they are just good-great teams in a hard conference. the nets are a good team in a bad conference with too many deficiencies to name. ANY team in the west playoffs could have swept the celtics and pistons. their success is not real.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Don Nelson was never a players coach to begin with! Some how he screwed up the 3 J's of Jason Kidd, Jamal Mashburn, Jimmy Jackson and he had problems with Chris Webber. I am not surprised. Sam Cassel has well a huge forehead. Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Hate Nick Van Excel all you want, that guy plays the game with a passion that you don't see much anymore. And at least nick is CONSISTANT. IF you are consistantly hitting big shots, get hyped. If you are coming off a game shooting 1-30 and will probably go 2-60 in the next game (Walker) maybe dancing around isn't the best idea. Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Van exel has the game to back up his little dances. I personally, liked it better when he shadow boxed everytime he made a shot when he played for LA.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Number one thing to note...he gets back on defense while he does it while antoine stands in one place and shakes.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Sometimes, you gotta love Antoine's jiggle though. It seems proper to do it at times. How about Larry Brown quitting yesterday. He is rumored to be interested in coaching the Rockets or the Clippers. He has a very good relationship with Sterling and could possibly be the man to talk himinto re-signing some key free agents. Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted May 27, 2003 Brown's wife is from LA, and they have a house in Malibu. If they can re-sign some of the players I think Brown has a good chance to coach the Clippers next year.

Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Sometimes, you gotta love Antoine's jiggle though. It seems proper to do it at times. no you don't. being an old-school boston fan, bill russell and john havelicek must be embarassed that walker is representing their storied franchise. what made the old celtics so great was their lack of showmanship and display of true basketball fundamentals. antoine walker does not possess the talent or the understanding of the game of basketball to justify his wiggle. if the old celtics celebrated, it was because they actually accomplished something... like winning championships. Guest Redhawk Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Mark Jackson and Nick Van Exel have their little shimmy; why can't Antoine Walker? He's made more All-Star games than both of those guys combined. He's helped lead his team to the Conference Finals, something neither Van Exel or Jackson did. (Jackson played on the Pacers' Finals team, but it wasn't his team...Van Exel didn't even start this year, though I will admit he's the reason Dallas got by Sacramento.) Let Antoine dance, dammit! Bill Russell and Havlicek and those guys played in the 1960s, when NO ONE danced.
