Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 This may be old shit, but I was at a graduation and bored today. I was reading some ESPN articles from Page 2 and realized that T Mac almost led an 8 seed past the 1 seed. Sure the guy who wrote the article was on his nuts, but I think that fact was overlooked. Furthermore, they played a 7 game series, which should favor the better team. Just something to think about.
Guest notJames Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 Thank god for Jason Kidd. Nets by 2 at the buzzer!!! 1 down, 3 to go. [insert bob barron's Nets logo here]
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 WOW... I just looked at the FG% of both teams today. Talk about fucking WEAK. 37 and 39? Come the fuck on now.
Guest Human Fly Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 Is anybody else hoping for a Dallas - New Jersey Finals? I don't think it will happen, but it would be entertaining basketball.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 I'd like to see Mavs and Nets make a run at the first 300 point game. If the Spurs and Pistons make it, we could see the first 100 point game.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 Personally, I would love to see the Mavs win the title because I think mark Cuban deserves it. He has been a true fan of the game and has used his checkbook to back-up his Team and make them a contender. If he wins one, then hopefully the other owners around the league can find it in them to shell out some dough if they are truly as serious about winning as Mark Cuban.

Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Mark Cuban is one of the reasons I hope the Mavericks don't win. He's a publicity hound, and no other owner hogs the spotlight like he does. No other owner conducts interviews after the game. The players and coach are supposed to.
Guest razazteca Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Why do the Spurs always lose the big lead? Where has that 18 point lead gone?
Guest Flyboy Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Those Mavs are something else. I turn off the game because I think the Spurs have it won in a blowout and when I hang up the phone with my girlfriend, I turn on the game and they are down by 5.
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 San Antonio's fans are dumbasses. They should have booed SA's coach for not fouling. If they didn't want Rose to get stepped on, get his limp ass off the floor. I can't wait till the Nets beat SA's ass in the finals.
Guest goodhelmet Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 the spurs lose big leads because they miss free throws (hack a bowen?), lack a killer instinct and don't attack players in foul trouble while settling for jump shots sidenote- this is one of the worst officiated games i have ever seen. i understand the nba wants high scores but this is the wrong way to go about it... inconsistency on the refs all the way.

Guest razazteca Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 I hope Malik Rose's injury is not serious, he is a very important role player for the Spurs.
Guest goodhelmet Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 i actually thought malik would be the 3rd wheel to step up big in this series this game is giving me a serious headache.

I'm sure you're right. But since the only team left I like is the Nets then that's who I am rooting for. And this has been a shitty called game for damn sure.
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 LMAO! Mr. MVP just choked and cried like a baby that he was fouled, and he wasn't! Fuck the Spurs...
Guest goodhelmet Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 LMAO! Mr. MVP just choked and cried like a baby that he was fouled, and he wasn't! Fuck the Spurs... but we know who the REAL crybabies are... coughkobefishercough. mos def.
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 sippin on Spur hateraid no are we? Then Mr. MVP couldn't even hit one free throw. But hey I thank the Spurs for one hell of a laugh tonight. And that Spurs hateraid is the best! Fuck the Spurs...
Guest Flyboy Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 sippin on Spur hateraid no are we? It's "haterade", damnit. No "i".
Guest goodhelmet Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 sippin on Spur hateraid no are we? he's just pissed that the lakers are in disarray and having an early vacation. as for the game, free throws killed us, pure and simple.... plus what was with van exel taking three when it was clearly two. oh well. what worries me... that the winner of game 1 has won the series in the last 18 conference series finals. what makes me breathe a sigh of relief... that trends are always broken.
Guest Tony149 Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 what worries me... that the winner of game 1 has won the series in the last 18 conference series finals. That doesn't worry me at all, remember the Suns series? Sure, it wasn't the Con. finals, but this game reminded me of game 1; Spurs blew the lead and missed free-throws at the end. Spurs still win in 6.
Guest Flyboy Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 plus what was with van exel taking three when it was clearly two. oh well. Would that have changed the outcome of the game? I really don't think so.

I really don't think so. actually it might because then you are fighting over 1 and 2 point leads at the end, not three point leads. still, the mavs hit their throws and the spurs didn't. that was the difference.
Guest razazteca Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 The Free Throw is the only weakness. Damn Don Nelson for using the Waterboy strategy The Spurs will not be fishing anytime soon.
