I'm glad the refs didn't fall for that crap that Billups tried to pull at the end.

It drives me nuts when players play to get a foul and not make a shot.

If Billups wanted a foul, he should have attacked the basket and try to get one. There was enough time.

Argggggggggggggh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2nd game I miss, and the second lost they get.

I caught the last 1 minute of the game.....

Damn!

Why Billups.....why?

Just shoot it! You got the golden touch!

2 down, 2 to go, in the swamp-laden confines of the New Jersey Meadowlands. Detroit will get nothing and like it.

The games may have been ugly, but the last-second heroics more than make up for it. Go Nets!

How are the Pistons the top seed in the East? I know the East is suppose to be the inferior conference but the Pistons are just so  .

They have good players but they are all just so bland. Rick Carlisle should've been coach of the year for bringing this rag tag bunch so far into the playoffs.

You have to remember how close the east was this year. Something like two games separated the top 4 teams.

Yeah, but check the Pistons record against the top teams in the West. They can play D and beat all of the best teams in the league.

Am I the only one left that couldn't give a flippity fuck about charisma when it comes to basketball. Show me the best players.

I don't get the charisma deal either...

Pistons aren't lacking charisma....just lacking the media hype.

Let them have a camera all in their face like these other "charisma" filled teams and it might be different.

Now, Rick Carlisle is the bland one with no charisma....

The East is inferior to the West. Detroit won 50 games this year. That was the same has 6th place Portland.

The Nets look like they could at least pose some sort of a threat to the Spurs and Mavs. I don't think the championship will be a cakewalk for the West this year. Unless of course, the Pistons win 4 of the next 5 games.

Well, by NBA 2K3's simulation the Mavs-Spurs will have a shootout, but the Mavs will win by 10+ thanks to Finley's incredible game and Nowinzki's rebounds. Duncan has a great game, but it won't be enough (Parker has a horrible game).

We shall see.

The Spurs will get the early lead the big question is will they keep it. I believe the team that makes the most 3 pointers will win.

I believe the team that makes the most 3 pointers will win.

Then, the Mavs will win.

Let's see... Van Exel, Nash, Finley, and sometimes Nowinzki.

Spurs also have 5 players that can shoot 3s but being consistant is a problem and watch out for Bruce Bowen if he gets hot.

Exactly.

Bowens and Ginobili can get hot, but who is after that? Parker... he's been having slight problems.

everybody but the big guys can shoot the 3.

Jackson

Parker

Ginobli

Rose

Bowen

Ferry

Smith

The last 2 might not get minutes but they are outside shooters

Everybody but Bradley will shoot a 3 for the Mavs scary thought, eh. But who will make the rebounds on the misses? This is how the game will be won by making the rebounds will there be 2nd chance shots or will a fast break start.

bro, malik rose is NOT a 3point shooter. he has a decent 13-15 foot jumper but behind the arc isn't his game.

Guest razazteca

Well now he is a primary rebounder but he could be the secret outside shooter. I think he made a few 3s in the 1999 championship season.

Guest goodhelmet

that is still stretchin it. for outside shooting, we need manu, jackson and bowen to come through in a big way. smitty and kerr and hopefully ferry won't even see courttime so their contribution will be next to nothing.

I see a trend from last game. San Antonio starts out strong in the first. Let's see if they can keep the distance.

There is something to be said about blowing your wad in the first quarter. I am not saying that is what happened in Game 1, but so many teams forget it is a 48 minute game.

Nice to see the refs establishing a sense of fair play so early in the game.

i don't know if you are being facetious or not but you could look at it either way.

one- they want to let the teams play but they want to maintain order. dallas settles for jumpshots right now so they aren't getting to the line. the spurs drive and pound the boards early so they are up big.

other big difference... they are making their throws.

Holy shit! The Spurs are 22 for 22 from the line and there's still 7 minutes left in the 2nd!

Nowitzki carrying 3 fouls doesn't help the Mavs plight.

I think these 2 teams will be split after 4 games and they are going at least 6, if not 7 games in this series.

you obviously didn't see game 1 where it was well on its way to a blowout before the mavs made their free comeback.

How did the Mavs lose 2 coaches to technicals? Those refs are going crazy.

They didn't...Don Nelson was the only Mavs coach ejected so far. Del Harris head coach of the Spurs was the other ejected coach.

And yes...the refs have gone mad

EDIT: oi...don't mind me...I just realized that Greg Popavich was the Spurs head coach. Can't believe I did that.

Why must Magic be invited to do halftime? He's horrible at doing stuff that calls for him to talk.

Nash 3 pointer cuts lead to 17! Could we see deja-vu again?
