Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 Without Jason Kidd that team is nothing. He is the glue that keeps them together not Byron. Byron is nothing but a whiny bitch! Besides, he was a former Laker that got all the referee favoritism calls along with Magic and the rest of the Laker crew in the 80's that should have bowed down to the Celtics. You are seriously dillusional. The Lakers/Celtics fued was awesome. But to say that one team was better then the other is just ridiculous. They were both great teams. But as far as Byron goes, Kidd is the glue. But in order to be succesful you have to have a guide and Byron fills that role perfectly.
Guest Flyboy Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Now all Dallas has to do is stay hot all game. I'm a Texan, so whoever goes they are going to be from my home state, BUT I rather have the Mavs go because I feel they deserve it more.
Guest razazteca Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Mavs deserve it more? How so? The Spurs finally have a healthy team and finally got past the Lakers also its David Robinson's final year! Let Mr Nice Guy go out as a Champion.
Guest Flyboy Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Mavs deserve it more? How so? They are have a championship.
Guest Flyboy Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Oh, and Van Exel is just getting warmed up, raza. *blows on fingers*

The Celtics got every single call in Boston Garden. Even the most diehard fans would have to admit that. Johnson is right about that being a great rivalry. That's when the NBA was great. Me, my brother, and cousin were huge Laker fans. My dad, brother, sister, uncle, and 2 other cousins (same family) loved the Celtics.

You must really hate the Lakers.
Guest Tony149 Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 This is the Spurs' type of game: low scoring (hey, Dallas isn't in the 50s). All the Spurs need to do is make their shots and play good D and they have a shot. And they don't have the pressure of keeping the lead. I have a feeling this game is going to be like game 1: Dallas gets a good lead then blows it. I still remember the Mavs blowing the 28 point lead to the Lakers, and blowing a 20 point lead in the 4th against SA in the reg. season, where SA cut the lead to 2 and nearly won with their bench players.
Guest razazteca Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 It is not looking good for the Mavs with both of their big players Nowinski & Bradley getting injuried. Van Exel can't do it by himself, can the small line up make that [COACH] Classic Comeback[/COACH]
Guest godthedog Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Mavs deserve it more? How so? They are have a championship. they are have a championship? that's dj jeff grammar. you best edit that post quickly before i mercilessly make fun of it.
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Dirk looked fucked up when he was laying on the floor. The injury itself, after TNT showed in in slow mo, look pretty bad. It could just be a sprained knee. It could be alot worse though.
Guest Dangerous A Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Spurs take back homecourt advantage. Dirk went down? I'm at work and am following the game on the net. What happened?
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Dirk went to the hospital with a twisted knee. He is probably out for the next two games, at best. It does look like it'll be Spurs/Nets in the finals. Not as exciting of a series as Mavs/Nets, but it'll be a good one for damn sure.
Guest Dangerous A Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 It'll be a good series with the storyline of Kidd being pursued earlier by the Spurs and whether or not Parker will respond.
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 I'm a Texan, so whoever goes they are going to be from my home state, BUT I rather have the Mavs go because I feel they deserve it more. You smokin' dope!
Guest Tony149 Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 It'll be a good series with the storyline of Kidd being pursued earlier by the Spurs and whether or not Parker will respond. I remember when the Nets & Spurs played in SA sometime after the All-Star break, and Parker ate Kidd alive in that one; Kidd missed a majority of his shots, while Parker had like 20+ points, IIRC. I'm not saying that will happen in a Spurs/Nets finals, but it will be interesting to see how both would play.
Guest razazteca Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Tony Parker was the reason the Spurs won this game when he took control in the 2nd half.
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 I agree with you raz, but your Mr. MVP had 24 rebounds and several blocks. Not to mention the points.... I was impressed.
Guest razazteca Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Mr MVP had 34 points 24 rebounds 6 assists 6 block
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Tim Duncan was awesome last night. I was very impressed with him defensively and I think he demonstrated once again why he is the MVP. I think the Mavs would be very lucky if Dirk's injury was just a sprain or a hyperextention. That shit looked like his knee folded the other way. As far as Byron Scott being the guide to the Nets, I'd like to see how he guides them into the playoffs next year if/when Kidd leaves. Byron Scott is no better as a coach than Eddie Jordan, Jim Todd or Alvin Gentry. What's next, are you going to tell me that Michael Cooper is a good coach that has guided the Sparks to championship glory?
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 I wonder why your saying that PR? It's pretty sad when they only reason you don't think Byron Scott is a good coach is because you didn't like the team he played for.
Guest Snappy Nappy Dugout Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 And It looks like the Nets are going back to the Finals. Damn, I wish the 76ers could of made it. If Van Horn would've step up.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 I wonder why your saying that PR? It's pretty sad when they only reason you don't think Byron Scott is a good coach is because you didn't like the team he played for. That's not true. There are plenty of ex-Lakers that I don't mind. Some examples include: - Anthony Peeler - Sedale Threat (sp) - Nick Van Exel - James Worthy - Mike Smrek I can't think of anymore right now, but I'm sure there's more.
Guest Flyboy Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 Leave it for Kidd to get injured when you're about the sweep the Pistons. EDIT: Eh, he's okay.
Bored Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 God I hate network television and their control over sports. They are actually gonna wait until June 4th to have the damn Finals even if the Spurs take the next two in the West and wrap up the series on Tuesday which will be EIGHT days before they will start the Finals. The Nets might as well go on vacation now having to wait 11 days.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 Well, good run for those exciting games Pistons. Excellent team but unfortunately your going to look like a joke again in the media eyes. Next year step your game up a little and you'll leave out with a ring. Guess, my viewing of the NBA is done till next year. Can't wait till the NFL starts!
Guest notJames Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 Home sweep home! Next stop... Texas! [insert bob barron's Nets logo here]
Guest Choken One Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 I'm just happy for K-Mart. He deserved a Title at Cincy in 1998 but Fell to an injury... Jason Kidd might be the glue of the team...But Kenyon is the HEART of the New Jersey Nets.
Guest lomasmoney Posted May 25, 2003 Report Posted May 25, 2003 great season for the pistons. I hope that they will be better next year with the #2 pick. They could have easily been up 2-0 so i dont that New Jersey outplayed us that much in the series
