Guest goodhelmet Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 Don't forget Elton Brand made the All-Star team after he came West. you do know that elton brand was on the bulls, right? ...when kraus was gm? as for marbury... i'll have to check the numbers. jimmy jackson... this guy was always very over-hyped. he really didn't have any positive impact on the dallas team. he def. didn't help them win more games. ----As for the finals, if the Nets win, i never said they didn't deserve to be champions, only that it would be a MAJOR upset akin to the Pats beating the Rams.
Guest Ripper Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 But Elton Brand put up better numbers as a Bull. He gets more love since he is in LA(even as a clipper, you get more love). Not many big names have moved from east to west in the last few years really. Raja Bell is more effective for dallas than he ever was for Philly. Ray Allen is about to show the world who the fucking man is. .. I'll think of more later
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 [ Any team that wins this year will be a deserving champion. They went throught he grind of an 82 game season and managed to win 16 games in the playoffs without cheating. ...would you please give it a rest already, how times do we have to hear about the Lakers "cheating".

What are you talking about? I didn’t mention the Lakers at all. It’s not my fault that they are synonymous with the word. Besides, all I was trying to do was give proper respect to all the remaining teams.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 What 'em I talking about. It's not like you haven't said the Lakers have cheated in the past. Your dislike for the the team also makes them a likely candidate to be the team that "cheats". I don't get the cheating anyways. No team cheats to win.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 I am not going to linger on the previous topic...The AP is reporting than Tony Parker has some sort of stomach virus and will be less than 100% if he plays tonight.
Guest razazteca Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Tony had food poisoning from the hotel. It was Creme broli or something. Steve Kerr is playing and the team is doing well, only down by 3.
Guest Dangerous A Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Man, It thought the Mavs opening up a 15 point lead midway through the 3rd would be the segway into a thrilling game 7, but the Spurs are showing that road rage again.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Somebody might want to get a hand in Steve Kerr's face
Guest razazteca Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Smart move of putting Bowen & Claxton on the bench for Rose & Kerr! Kerr is the last man on the rotation and look at him now, he is on fire and brought the Spurs back from the basement. Kerr single handedly made the Mavs change from the zone defense to man-to-man and now the Spurs have the lead.
Guest razazteca Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I hope the Mavs do not go Hack-the-Spur.
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 If Steve Kerr doesn't play another minute in the playoffs, he just earned his fifth ring.
Guest razazteca Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 12 points in 13 minutes! Kerr earned his spot on the bench.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Watching Steve Kerr was just FUN. The Utah Jazz STILL have nightmares about this guy from the finals with the Bulls a few years ago and he showed exactly why tonight. Remember...It ALWAYS makes sense to have some old journeyman who plays about 5 minutes a game at the end of your bench. Because eventually, you will need him and he will come through. Long live Steve Kerr making another team his bitch. And long live the irony of the day the "We Don't Fish" shirts debut as the day the Mavs flounder and fall apart.
Guest Dangerous A Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 This was a great way for the Spurs to head into the next series. This was not a great way for the Mavs to head into the off season.
Guest Tony149 Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Kerr was awesome tonight. Stephen Jackson carried the team as Duncan was covered by two or three guys at a time.
Guest goodhelmet Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 ok, make your bets now! spurs vs. new jersey.... spurs in 5!
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Nets in 6. I think it's their year.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Spurs in 5. While others may disagree the West is a much stronger league and I don't see anyone who can stop Tim Duncan and the Nets don't really have a strong scoring threat.
Guest Lethargic Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 So the Mavs blew a lead. I guess that means they "didn't want it"? I'm picking the Nets because I'm an optimist.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Spurs in 5. The Nets are a run and gun team like the Mavs and we saw that the Spurs can play up and down as well along with their half-court style.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Also the Nets don't have the offensive weapons that Dallas does. No one like Nick Van Exel, who can drop 30 on you, or Micheal Finley who is capable of shooting the lights out from outside.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Tony Parker will be the key to this series. If he can hold his own offensively against Kidd then the Spurs will have an easy time. Otherwise, it might be a repeat of the Suns series except Kidd is more lethal than Marbury.
Guest Ripper Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Unless Kidd loses the use of his right arm like Marbury did, he will eat Parker alive. Nets don't have a big scorer...Good thing it is a team game or they would be in trouble. The Nets don't have a guy that will consistantly put up 30, but they have about 9 guys that can consistantly get you 15 each. Really, be honest. The only thing you guys watched was the West coast playoffs didn't you. This team is alot better than people are giving them credit for.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 They are a very good and dangerous team. However, there is still a stigma that whoever wins the East in recent years will just be puppy chow to the West. I think K-Mart will be quick enough and athletic enough to at least contain Duncan a little bit, but if Parker can come through like he did in the last 2 series, the Spurs will be too much for the Nets.
Guest razazteca Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Will the Nets use the zone defense? It is the only weakness of the Spurs, well that and food poisoning. Spurs in 5.
