Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted April 20, 2003 To Red Hawk:On Goldberg having more charisma: Goldberg doesn't have more charisma than Benoit. Sticking out your tongue is cool but that's easily countered by the cut throat. Goldberg's never really wrestled long matches so we can't see yet if he has charisma throughout a long bout. As for comparing HHH and Benoit: HHH isn't even in the same league when you're comparing intensity. The reason why Benoit wasn't immediantly over when he came in to the WWF was because it was a different crowd than WCW. WCW had more wrestling fans while the WWF had more sportsentertainment fans. Goldberg's going to run into a problem here as well as him gimmick was built largely on what he did in the ring. Granted though, today's fans in the WWE aren't as sport entertainmentish as they were in 2000. Benoit's merchandise doesn't fly off the shelves because the designs are always stupid. Goldberg's merchandise will not sell as well in the WWE as it did in WCW because of WWE being sport entertainment and the good probability of his merchandise designs being stupid as well. As for Benoit not getting the Ball: They did have him on the cover of the WWF magazine proclaiming him as a champion in the future. However, then he got injured. I would say politics and Benoit's easy going personality have prevented him from getting the ball. Even right now though they do seem to be positioning him for an eventual run at the top. We'll just have to see how it goes. If they market Benoit right some heads just might be turning. In saying this I want to point out that I'm not a Goldberg hater. I actually like his ring work. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 20, 2003 The only question is whether you blame Goldberg, or WCW for letting such a green/sloppy guy wrestle. Many choose to do the latter. One time I asked in a thread, "Can someone logically (w/o just saying 'He sucks') explain why you hate Goldberg so much?" The second-most common answer I got was, "He retired Bret Hart." So I think most Goldberg-haters do blame Bill, not WCW. And who else has Goldberg injured if he's so sloppy? More people than RVD? It's more disturbing that he did it three times in one match, one where he couldn't be bothered to grab Bret's leg on the Figure Four. Simply couldn't be bothered. Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted April 20, 2003 Owen's piledriver on Austin was a botch but Owen had enough common sense to not do anything else to Austin. Goldberg kicked Bret in the head pretty hard and let him fall on his head again when trying the figure four. Goldberg's sloppy. You CANNOT say that Bret would have retired that fast anyway. He did continue to wrestle afterwards but that match with Goldberg hurt him alot.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted April 20, 2003 since when does MTV know what's Hip? It misses every boat by like 6 months... They don't really know what's hip. They tell the teenyboppers what's hip until they begin to buy it.

Concussions aren't so easy to see as a guy not moving. Goldberg probably didn't even know Bret was knocked silly.
Guest RugbyDiva Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Alright, there's too many replies to read! So i'll just post my opinion.. Not that I don't like Tough Enough, but I really won't miss it if it is gone. I think it was good while it was fresh, but it's starting to go stale, like *cough* Survivor. -Lis' edit: Oh yeah and just because my signature has changed, doesn't mean my man has.. And that doesn't explain why he thought it was a GOOD idea to drop an elbow on Bret's head or why he couldn't be bothered to grab Bret's leg.

More people than RVD? *ahem* A little off-topic but RVD didn't really INJURE anyone. He potatoed a few people and busted open a couple, which comes with the whole wrestling career. Yet, unlike Mr. Goldberg, he didn't give a man three concussions and forced that legend to retire from the world of professional wrestling.....there is a pretty big difference. Just sayin, is all. Guest THE MIGHTY THOR Report post Posted April 21, 2003 The show was entertaining but at the same time it made wrestling look faker than it really is.So TE don't let the door hit ya in the ass.

Guest notJames Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Good. It ran its course once the soap opera bullshit of TE2 started creeping in. Besides, the barely-5-minute segments of wrestling on each show reminded me too much or RAW. Hopefully this is a sign that the Reality TV backlash has finally begun, all across the board. Maybe we can bid a fond farewell to Survivor, Fear Factor, Road Rules, American Idol, the Mole, etc etc and never see them again. Too bad Fox won't know it until they've turned everybody off with the 100th iteration of I'm Marrying Someone I've Never Met Before Because They're Paying Me Handsomely To Make An Ass Of Myself On Broadcast TV. Stupid humans.
